Two creators discuss using ChatGPT for scriptwriting. They agree AI works best as a starting point, not a finished product. The key is rewriting it to match your own voice instead of publishing AI output directly.
I use AI for writing a lot and I actually don't even use what I get back. A couple weeks ago I wrote a video script. I wanted to do just like a one minute explainer video for what is Exit 5. And I wrote a bunch of prompts and eventually got ChatGPT to write me this great script. But I didn't like how any of it sounded. Just didn't sound like my voice. And I even have the custom GPT settings. I have my tone of voice as a prompt and I still just didn't like it. But what I did is then in 20 minutes with that open side by side, I wrote the script from scratch. And it was perfect because I wrote it, but I'm ready writing based off of what it gave me as opposed to copy and pasting that verbatim. And so then it essentially took me 20 minutes of actual writing to write the script, but it was probably like an hour or two of researching and tweaking.
Yeah, it gets you to where you're trying to go faster.
