A short YouTube segment (by Dave Kashen) giving practical, safe techniques for expressing/processing anger. Speaker describes physical methods—biting a twisted hand towel, doing a temper-tantrum on a bed while punching into the mattress, and striking old pillows with a plastic wiffle-ball bat—to release anger safely for brief periods (about 15–20 seconds) without over-activating the body's adrenaline response.

I saw a question about some examples of how to breathe, move, or vocalize. One of my favorites for anger is to get a towel. I particularly like hand towels. And you twist the hand towel and you bite into the hand towel. And what I like about this, it gives your jaw something to bite into. And also, it's usually if you scream, it's not so loud. So you can do this and not freak people out around you. So when I was thinking about my issue just now, and, oh, so that's one way. Another way to express anger is to get on a bed. This is my way. My husband likes to do it. So I actually have it here. And you can have a temper tantrum on your bed, doing this and punching into the bed, which will keep your body and the physical space safe. Safe and not at harm. Also, I have a plastic bat, a big, fat wiffle ball bat, and I use it on old pillows, and I whack the pillows and let that feel that pressure of that coming out of my arms for anger. So those are some anger examples, since anger was something that people said was one of the more challenging ones to feel. And you just want to do 15, 20 seconds. We're not interested in activating the body and getting the body all lit up with adrenaline because you can get addicted to that. We're just looking for a match to help move it through.
