I lost, at least on paper, about 70% of my net worth. You can imagine it was not a pleasant experience, you know, and I'd gotten to a point where I was like, I'm pretty good, like I'm in a good spot, hit my number, you know, like I'm in a good place. And then I'm now like at 30% of that, right? 6 months later. And I, just to be clear, I was way below the line, you know, like in the grip of fear and self-criticism, like, oh my God, what the hell is the matter with you? Why didn't you sell your crypto? Why didn't you diversify more? Right? Like, like, you idiot. And then on the way home, my wife asked me, she's like, well, what do you love about yourself that has nothing to do with your money or success? I was like, such an obvious, simple question. I was like, well, I'm just like a— I was like a kind, fun-loving, caring guy. And it was such a poignant moment for me because I really had this like, shit, I was like, yeah, what if that's enough? Like, what if that's really enough? And I can see how the opposite of my story was true. Like, me losing that money, I can genuinely in this moment see was an absolute gift, and it allowed me to be liberated from my attachment to money in a way that no other NLP exercise, conscious leadership, like to actually viscerally experience the thing that I was like maybe most scared would happen and like what that would mean about me and my life. It happened and I was like, I'm okay, I'm fine.
