Measure Leadership: Flow State vs. Fear #innergame #leadership #workculture

I think an interesting way to measure yourself as a leader in terms of operating your potential is like, what percentage of the, of the time am I operating in a state of flow, a state of presence, um, feeling open, curious, creative, uh, energized, um, you know, excited about the future, versus what percentage of the time am I operating in a state of frustration, lack, and/or fear. Um, and maybe more precise, what percent of the time am I motivating myself from flow versus, you know, frustration or fear? And what percent of the time am I motivating my team, you know, from those different places? And I think that would be an interesting way to, to measure effectiveness because, gosh, you know, we're, we're all so different and I think trying to measure yourself by someone else's standards, you know, of performance or, um, you know, metrics is a— can be a bit of a trap, you know. I think ultimately it's about being authentic and playing your own game. So I think a more useful measure than some, um, you know, some comparative measure is are you operating in a state from which you can be maximally effective and creative? Um, not that it's not useful to measure, you know, objective things. We've talked about this a bit. Of course, like, you know, at some point the rubber meets the road and you have to measure, like, am I leading the team to achieve our goals and realize our vision? Um, but I think that's a downstream kind of symptom or effect, the cause of which is, am I operating from a state of flow, you know, more and more of the time?
