Take Responsibility to Craft Your Reality. #innergame #leadershipdevelopment #startupculture

If you break down the word responsible, like response able, able to respond, it's like if I'm walking around my block and I trip on a root and I'm like, damn it, why is there a root? You know, why is the, you know, the darn street people never come and they don't do their job right now. I'm like blaming, I'm not actually learning. And by contrast, if I take responsibility like, oh, I just tripped. You know, how did I create that experience? Well, I was looking at my phone, you know, and like I wasn't paying attention. Then if I'm walking around the block again or somewhere else, I'm better able to respond to that situation by maybe getting off my phone or, you know, knowing that the, you know, the branches there are not tripping over, or the roots there are not tripping over it. So all that is to say, when we take responsibility, we become better able to respond to the same kind of situation in the future. Because we see ourselves as the creator of it. And if it's like, if I created it, well, that, that must mean I have the power to create something different. So it's sort of ironically, when you're below the line believing that it's happening to you and you want to blame other people and circumstances and conditions, you, you actually disempower yourself, right? When you blame others, you kind of hold it that like, well, it's their fault, therefore there's nothing I can really do about it because I can't necessarily change other people. When we take responsibility, it's actually an act of self-empowerment. Like, I created that. I see myself as the creator of my experience, and therefore I can create something different if I have a preference for something different.
