A 19-year-old explains how they got interested in finance at 15, started researching credit, and opened two credit cards on their 18th birthday to build the score needed for a home purchase. Friends thought they were crazy.
You bought a home when you were 19? How did you get this idea?
When I was like anywhere from 15 to 16, it started off as get rich quick schemes. Like I was just researching. And then you slowly come to realize those aren't really real. And you get into finances more and more and you realize I'm going to need credit when I want to go to buy a house. And so I'm like researching how to build credit and stuff. And then the day I turned 18, I went out and got two credit cards. I was like, I'm sick set. I'm doing it. And everyone, all my friends thought I was crazy. They're like, credit is the way to go into debt and whatever. I'm just like, no, dude, just don't be dumb.
Make a T shirt. Credit is the way, bro. Just don't be dumb.
