Dr. Don of Delta Janitorial explains two of the company's seven core rules for cleaning staff. Rule 4: never touch money or valuables; leave them and report to your supervisor. Rule 5: no smoking inside the building, only before or after your shift. Breaking any of the Big 7 rules means immediate termination.

Hello again. This is Dr. Don with Delta Janitorial Systems Incorporated. As we discussed in the last video, here at Delta Janitorial Systems, we use the smart cleaning system, which is a very efficient and systemized approach to cleaning. All personnel are trained in the smart cleaning system, which includes training in the use of tools, products, and cleaning processes. The training is very thorough. One of the very important parts of the training includes training cleaning personnel in what they should not do. Without being very specific about what's not acceptable, cleaning personnel can make some really bad judgment calls. We have what we call the Big 7. Violating any of the Big 7 leads to immediate termination without a warning or a second chance. In the last video, we introduced the first three of the Big 7 don'ts. We promise that if Delta Janitorial Systems is your janitorial service provider, we will never adjust your thermostats, use your office equipment, or bring children into your facility. There are four additional things we instruct our cleaning personnel to never do. I'll cover the numbers four and five of the big seven in this segment, and then we'll finish up in the next segment. Number four in the big seven has to do with money or other valuables that our cleaning personnel might run across in the process of their work. We teach our cleaning personnel that in the course of their cleaning career, they will come across unbelievable temptations. From cameras, expensive jackets, fancy ink pens and diamond rings, to quarters, blank checks, even $100 bills left in plain view. Sometimes clients leave these items out as traps to catch someone stealing, and they almost always point to the cleaning company if something is missing. Our personnel are instructed that if they notice something valuable left out in the open, leave it where it is, then write a note to the client and also notify the supervisor so that they can contact the client directly. We are very clear in our training that taking something that does not belong to you is called stealing and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Number five of the big seven is smoking. We train our cleaning personnel that most offices have no smoking policies which allow smoking only in designated places. Personnel are trained that if they must smoke, they should do it before they arrive and after they leave the facility. If a facility is very large and they must smoke before the job is done, they need to go outside the building to do so and be careful not to leave their cigarette butts behind. We instruct our personnel that clients get very irate if they find butts on the walkway or implanters, and under no circumstances are they ever allowed to smoke inside a facility. So far we've covered five of the Big seven don'ts. If Delta Janitorial Systems is your service provider, we won't adjust your thermostat, we won't use your office equipment, bring children into your facility, or touch money or or other valuables that might be left out. And smoking is prohibited unless you if you must smoke, you need to take your butts with you. There are two more don'ts in the Big seven and I'll cover those in the next video. My name is Dr. Don and I'll see you in the next video.
