Are The Fatality Numbers Accurate?

Dennis Prager discusses a UN adjustment that cut reported Gaza casualty figures roughly in half, arguing the revision won't change accusations of Israeli genocide. He compares the accusation to historic blood libels against Jews and criticizes major outlets for downplaying the revised numbers while maintaining their narrative.

Uh, well, I don't remember which day I reported to you. Was it Monday that the UN has acknowledged that the numbers of women and children killed in Gaza are about half of what has been reported? I was talking to one of my sons today. I was talking to both, but I was talking to my son who does a podcast, Aaron Prager, AP Unfiltered AP for Aaron Prager. You ought to check it out. I'm very proud of his work. And we were talking about this. It's not on the front page of the New York Times. The numbers, and I said to him, yeah, I'm going to mention that. So what I said to him was, there will not be one pundit who charges Israel with genocide. There will not be one less demonstrator against this gigantic libel of Israeli genocide as a result of this. If the numbers came out that it was a tenth, there would— nothing would change. Nothing. Jews were accused of killing Christian children and using their blood to bake matzah on no evidence. You don't need evidence to lie about Jews. That's the whole point of the lie. The genocide libel is exactly like the blood libel. It is today's form of blood libel. There really is a genocidal group. It's called Hamas. It's called the Iranian regime. It's called Hezbollah. They announced, we wish to exterminate the Jews of Israel. We wish to exterminate the country of Israel. There's no parallel on earth but Israel. They're charged with genocide. Genocide. This is a demonstration of the moral nature of the left as much as its support of communism was. It's an evil world, the left. Not liberals. Liberals are just the useful idiots of the left. Often nice people with sincerely fine values who support the scum of those on the left. It's an amazing phenomenon, the liberal. There is nothing they could do that would have them vote conservative. Nothing. The liberal knows one thing politically: never vote right. By right, I mean political right, which means that they never end up voting right anyway. It's very painful to me because I know so many liberals who are sweet people. Sweet and wise are not synonymous. So I asked on the very first day, will the mainstream media report the numbers? And there was an article, one article we saw in USA Today. This has the Washington Post reported it. You're not, you're not aware. So My producer tells me that the New York Times has reported it online, but we get the physical paper of the New York Times, and you say it's not even— it's certainly not on the front page, but is it anywhere? Oh, you didn't go through the whole— but it's not on the front page. Just so you'll know, folks, I have never seen— and I've gotten the New York Times all of my life— I've never seen one subject dominate in photos on the front page of the New York Times, as has the Palestinians, as has the Gazans? Would you say twice a week for months? About twice a week for months, there's a picture of suffering Gazans. You feel— I know it feels like more. I always like to understate. I always It's my position. Right. All the news that's fit to print. That's its motto. And the Washington Post's motto really is precious. Democracy dies in darkness. The Washington Post contributes to the darkness in which democracy dies. Major contributor. We ought to put up the— did we put up the, this news, the news story about the numbers are half what— it's really important you, you send it out to people. It's a great example of a great test, not example, it's a great test of the commitment to truth of people in your life? Will they say, wow, that's important, maybe this genocide thing is a lie? Or will they say, big deal, whatever the numbers, Israel's wrong, Hamas is right, Israel's wrong?
