In this excerpt from Dennis Prager’s YouTube sermon “Are You an American Christian? Listen Up!”, the speaker urges American Christians to recognize that their religious calling includes a civic responsibility. He frames specific policy issues as part of a spiritual battle against what he calls the “evil Democrat Party.” While acknowledging that Donald Trump is not a moral exemplar, Prager argues that supporting Trump offers the best strategic chance for Christians to spread the gospel and save souls. The overall message blends religious exhortation with partisan political persuasion, urging believers to act politically in service of evangelism.

See, we get up in these pews and we want to be holy and we want to be righteous, and we're so, we're so heavenly, we're so heavenly bound, we forget that we have a civic duty here on Earth. And I'm going to talk about some specific policy, and I'm going to relate them to this evil, this freaking evil Democrat Party that exists today. But I remember talking to God, and you're just buying time, man. You're buying time so that more souls may be saved. If you're an American, if you're a Christian, and you're sitting your butt pews, and you're sitting there, I can't do it, I can't do it, this isn't my guy. I'm not saying that Trump is a paragon of virtue. I'm saying that he gives us the best chance to share the gospel, to save souls. That's what it's about, people. We'll be back.
