Dennis Prager argues that bigger government and individual liberty cannot coexist. He claims people prefer being cared for over freedom, making big-government policies popular, and that elites like the New York Times and Harvard push for expansive government to control lives.

The bigger the government, the less liberty. Simple. You can't have both. You can't have big government and big freedom. It doesn't work. The bigger the government, the more it will control your life. And people are all too happy to have the government control their lives. This I have spoken of on a number of occasions. Liberty is not a human instinct. People do not yearn to be free. That's baloney. They yearn to be taken care of, and that's why big government will almost always be voted into power. Like Lula in Brazil. And the elites, the press, the media in general, colleges, they are all for big government because they want to control your lives and they crap on liberty. Liberty is meaningless to the New York Times and Harvard. Meaningless. It's a pain in the ass. In fact, that's what liberty is. It's a nuisance. It's misinformation if you differ with us.
