Bigger the Gov't, the Smaller the Parents

One of the features of big government is that it takes the place of parents. The bigger the government, the smaller the parent. Yes, that's right. Not just, not just the, uh, the citizen, especially the parent. Yes. And that's deliberate. That's why I have come to believe perhaps the most important of the Ten Commandments is honor your father and mother. The first thing tyrannies do is undermine the authority of parents, whether fascist, Nazi, or communist. That's what they do. They don't strengthen parental authority, they weaken it. Because if your parents are strong, the government is less strong. So one of the despicable aspects of bigger government is the increasing insignificance of parents.
