Hunter Biden Found Guilty—Will This Change Anything?

Hunter Biden was found guilty on three felony gun charges after a six-day trial. The jury deliberated for three hours on charges that he lied on a background check about drug use. His sentencing hearing is in September, with a potential sentence up to 25 years, though likely much less for a first-time offender.

I'm reporting it because I have to. I'm being, as usual, very transparent. I had no interest in the trial, but if I say nothing about it, I will appear to be neglecting a major story to many Americans. The jury of Hunter Biden's— this is from, was it National Review? Jury of Hunter Biden's peers found him guilty on all 3 felony charges. Today after a 6-day trial which demonstrated that the first son lied on a federal gun purchase background check from when he claimed not to be a drug addict. The verdict was reached after the jury deliberated for 3 hours beginning Monday afternoon with the conclusion of closing arguments. I would— you know what, I would like to have heard the defense closing argument. What could it possibly have been? That he didn't mean to? I, I, I don't know. I don't know exactly what they could have said. He was surrounded by family members, including First Lady Jill Biden and his uncle James Biden. Okay. Well, the first son faces up to 25 years in prison, though he'll likely receive a lighter sentence as a first-time nonviolent offender. Judge Noreika, who presided over the trial, said that a sentencing hearing will be held in September. The criminal trial placed Hunter's chaotic, destructive history under a spotlight and tore apart the Biden family, with Hunter's ex-wife Kathleen Bull and deceased brother Beau Biden's widow, Hallie Biden, testifying for the prosecution. Wow, that— I didn't know about the deceased brother's widow. Did you? Yeah, that's painful. Naomi Biden, the eldest daughter of Bull and Biden, testified for the defense, pitting mother against daughter. And an emotional scene for the entire family. Well, in a nutshell, what we have here is he's not a good soul, certainly a troubled soul. But what this does that matters to me and to you is it enables Democrats say, see, the judiciary system goes after anyone because after all, no one is above the law, right? Okay. But, uh, this, uh, it may be a personal tragedy for members of the, of the Biden family, but it, it doesn't matter nationally. He's not the— this is not the head of the Democratic Party. Okay, that's it. Apparently his brother, the one who died, was a much more impressive soul, would you say? Huh? To the extent that we know of him, I mean, apparently was, you know. You don't know what you'll get when your child is born. That's the way it works, my friends. There are some people who are very unlucky. There are some people who are lucky. There are some people who have a.500 batting average. There, there are a whole host of things that happen. As I tell parents all the time, don't take too much credit if your kid is wonderful, and don't take too much blame If your kid is a loser— I'm sorry to put it that way, I don't know what the opposite of wonderful is— not everything is in our hands as parents.
