In this brief excerpt from a Dennis Prager YouTube video, President Joe Biden declares, “I am the Democratic Party,” asserting that he embodies the party’s platform. Dennis Prager immediately challenges this claim, arguing that Biden’s statement misrepresents the party’s actual stance. Prager contends that the Democratic Party is moving toward “socialist medicine and socialist healthcare,” and he frames himself as the true representative of the party, saying, “My party is me right now. I am the Democratic Party.” The exchange highlights a rhetorical clash over party identity, policy direction, and political ownership, with Prager positioning himself as a counter‑voice to Biden’s self‑identification.
They will under my proposal.
It's not what you've said, and it's not what the party has said. That is simply wrong. Your party doesn't say it. Your party wants to go socialist medicine and socialist healthcare. My party is me right now. I am the Democratic Party. And they're going to dominate you, Joe.
You know that. I am the Democratic Party right now. The platform of the Democratic Party is—
Okay, now actually it was not an unimportant little dialogue. That's why I played it for you. That was an interesting statement. I am the Democratic Party. Now, why would he say that? I've never heard that from any nominee for president or any other office in my life, because it's not true. And he knows people know it's not true. That's why he said it. It's like, why is there a law against bestiality in the Bible? Because people practiced it. Right? You don't make a law with regard to something people didn't do. I'm picking a thing that most of us cannot relate to. Right? So if somebody says something, there's a reason. The reason he said, I'm the Democratic Party, is anyone who follows politics knows he's not. The Democratic Party runs him. He does not run the Democratic Party. By the way, is Kamala Harris the Democratic Party? She's the vice presidential pick. Kamala Harris, who had utter contempt for him in the debates. But besides that, putting that aside, debates are debates, you'll say, fine. Is she on the left? Is there anybody to the left of Kamala Harris? I don't know of any in mainstream Democratic Party. So does he differ with Kamala Harris? Is she not the Democratic Party? The, the two of them, in other words. Kamala. What did I say? I said Kamala and it's Kamala. Okay, I have no problem. I like being corrected, actually, believe it or not. It's like I like being edited. I want to do the right thing.
