In this promotional interview segment, host Carl (Dennis Prager) and author Christopher Harp discuss Harp's new book Politics and Pro Wrestling: How to Understand and Cope with the Mayhem. Carl repeatedly urges listeners to purchase the book, highlighting its blend of pro‑wrestling analogies, communism, and philosophy to explain modern politics. Harp explains how Donald Trump’s emotional connection with voters mirrors the crowd‑pleasing tactics of professional wrestling, noting that Trump’s ability to generate genuine applause in swing states contrasts with Democrats’ loss of emotional control. They argue that Democrats are “flummoxed” because they traditionally dominate emotional narratives, but Trump’s authenticity forces them to “spin their wheels.” Harp introduces the concept of “kayfabe”—the scripted, illusionary world of pro wrestling—and claims contemporary politics has become a kayfabe environment where people believe false storylines, leading to real‑world violence. The conversation also touches on Judge Boasberg, portrayed as inadvertently boosting Trump’s popularity by defending controversial figures, and suggests the legal narrative is being reshaped. Throughout, the tone remains enthusiastic, promotional, and overtly conservative, concluding with repeated calls to buy the book and a claim that women especially enjoy it.

And I suggest, honestly, if you— again, I can't say this enough, I love the way Chris frames this. Now, I would have used jiu-jitsu, Chris, but I love the way that Chris frames this. Because— and honestly, listen, ladies, if you're listening, I want you to understand, all right? You hear pro wrestling and you're like, ah, that's not my thing. The way he weaves in communism, the way he weaves in philosophy, you're going to love the book. And he just uses pro wrestling as an example of what politicians do and what they do. It's a— it's, it's an excellent analogy. Go out and get this book early. Present for your husbands for Father's Day. They will love this book. All right, Chris, I want you to hear this. I want to play a video clip, guys, if we could. I want to go to clip number— this is Trump coming out in Oklahoma. This is number 11. I want you to listen to the applause that President Trump gets, because even when the left tries to stop him, what I'd like, Chris, is he goes somewhere else where the left is able to see, oh, he still actually liked. Clip number 11, por favor, Mr. McConnell. Now, Chris, that's, that's in a swing state, Pennsylvania. That's the type of applause that I used to get when I paid my child support. I mean, absolutely phenomenal. All right.
So anyway, well, you know, that was, that was in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, right?
Oh yeah.
And, and it was a raucous welcome for him. And then they started chanting USA, USA, USA. Donald Trump goes where other Republicans don't dare to go, and he wins the people over there because he makes that emotional connection. The people responded that way because they have bonded with Donald Trump, and they've bonded with him because he has stood up and taken all the crap, all the abuse for Americans and America, and he has become their champion. And this is where the Democrats are flummoxed. Because usually they control the emotion, and they have lost that with Donald Trump, and they're in a world of hurt right now.
Yeah.
And as long as he can stay, you know, with the emotion on his side, the Democrats are going to be spinning their wheels and flinging, you know, mud everywhere but going nowhere. And that's, you know, it's a beautiful thing to behold because Republicans could have been doing this all along. But they were too genteel. They were too, oh, you know, we can't do this. You know, we can't— we don't want to be mean to the other side or something like that. Well, they're going to be mean to you, and that's going to make a difference to the voting public. You know, you say something— used to say it a lot on your show— and that is that people don't care what you have to say until they know that you care. Isn't that how you said it?
Yeah.
And so that's that emotional connection. You make the emotional connection, and then the rest begins to fall into place.
Yeah.
And Donald Trump is so very good at that. By the way, this jargon that pro wrestlers, the pro wrestling business uses, came from the carnivals and the circuses. So it's an American tradition. Wrestling, pro wrestling is all about Americana, and that's why it's so similar to politics. You know, I like to say there's nothing new in politics. You know, people in jail have run for president before, and everything that we're seeing now is just redo of what's already been done. And by the way, Judge Boasberg— yeah, Judge Boasberg is actually doing Donald Trump a favor because he's— Boasberg is defending the, you know, the rapists and the murderers, and Donald Trump is trying to cleanse the nation of them.
Yep.
Boasberg is actually making Donald Trump more popular.
No, listen, I completely agree with that. But I see that— I noticed that he tried to change it up a little bit in his wording when he realized, oh, Crud, I screw up. I screwed up because I'm giving this guy the win. I'm giving this guy the issue. He came out and said over the weekend, I forget exactly how, I believe this was on Friday. No, I'm not saying that I wanted the illegals back per se. I'm paraphrasing here. But he tried to make it an issue of law and the courts. And so I think what he's going to try to do is regain the narrative. I think he's already lost it, but I think he's going to try and regain the narrative. Speaking of that, We only have a minute and a half left. You speak about it all the time on radio. Again, I'm speaking to Christopher Harp, the host of The American Adversaries. He's out with a new book again on the screen, Politics and Pro Wrestling: How to Understand and Cope with the Mayhem. Again, you can purchase it at amazon.com or go to politicsandprowrestling.com. Politicsandprowrestling.com. Just over a minute left, Chris. Kayfabe. What is kayfabe?
That is the word that they use in the wrestling business to describe the world that they have built with the script, with the scripted storylines, with the created characters and the feuds and everything. And it can be very dangerous. Hacksaw Jim Duggan carried a 2x4 to the ring, not so much to beat up his opponents with, but to protect himself from the fans because he had become a heel, a bad guy. And going to and from the ring, they'd punch him, they'd throw beers on him, they'd spit on him. And I mean, one of the other wrestlers, Bruiser Brody, who were— he was a huge man, but he carried a big old chain and would swing it around to keep the people away from him. The kayfabe is people buying into and believing the scripted storylines. And we live right now in a kayfabe world, which is, you know, people believing the scripted storylines enough that they're going out and keying Teslas and torching, you know, and tried to kill President Trump.
Man, way to bring it full circle again. You guys go out and get the book, Christopher Hart of the American Adversaries: Politics and Pro Wrestling, How to Understand and Cope with the Mayhem. I guarantee you, if you read this book, your eyes will be open. Chris, we appreciate all the work you do, man. God bless you.
Thank you so much. And by the way, according to the reviews, women love my book. And I love you, Carl.
