The Dennis Prager Show LIVE

It begins with the Jews, it never ends with the Jews. Ask the Germans. They didn't fare well as a result of their antisemitism. If you just count the number of German women raped by Russian soldiers, that alone gives you an idea of how Germans suffered unleashing the diabolical beast of Jew hatred, a.k.a. antisemitism. Well, because we live in the age of truth denial, we have— we will pay the consequences. There are no sins, and I don't mean human weakness sins. There are no moral sins, good-evil sins, that go unpunished. Look at slavery. Look at the punishment America paid for it with the Civil War, most devastating loss of life in American history. And indeed with many people to this day. It doesn't go unpunished. What is it? The mills of the gods grind slowly. But ever so fine. You ever hear that? Looking at a young woman and young man, did the young man ever hear? You ever hear that phrase? No. I ought to make a list of phrases that young people never heard. Do you know, I was raised on aphorisms. They formed Aphorisms are sayings, okay? I was raised on profound sayings, and I would say that they shaped my attitude toward life more than anything else. They were largely in my religious background, but that's what a lot of kids got, was aphorisms, sayings that, for example, a very famous Jewish one, whoever who humiliates someone in public is considered to have shed his blood. Every kid who goes to a Jewish religious school learns that phrase. And it's brilliant because the Hebrew shed the blood, the Hebrew for insult or humiliate is to whiten. So it's a play on words. Whoever whitens his friend's or his neighbor's face is considered to have shed his blood, because the blood drains from your face when you're humiliated. Yes, these were very helpful things. I was thinking today, in light of my column this week, Men Give Birth, and, uh, what was the second part? Men Give Birth— my God. Sorry? Yes, thank you. America was founded in 1619, and Israel is the aggressor. Do you realize the lies that half of America accept? The lie of the Trump campaign collusion with Russia. I mean, we bathe in lies. So I have a question for you. I was thinking that this would be very valuable to me and certainly to many of you. Did you see in anyone, or did it happen to you, that you one day awakened from the woke left Do you know anyone for whom that happened? Or did it happen to you? And why? If we don't destroy leftism, America will be destroyed and the West will be destroyed. And then vast numbers of lives will be destroyed because the really bad will take over the West. This is so obvious that you have to be on the left to deny it, or a liberal, all of whom deny the evil of the left. They still think they're fighting right-wingers. That's the— the liberal makes the left possible.

Okay?

That's the way it works. Liberals are very sweet very often, very nice very often, have very good intentions very often. But they enable the great evil of leftism. So do you know anyone, or did you awaken from the darkness of the left? And what prompted it? We need solutions. I certainly offer through the show, through my writings, through PragerU. And if any of those did, that's fine. But whatever it is, we, we need to find out. Did, uh, I don't know, did falling in love with a, with a balanced human being awaken you from the left? What did it? 1-800-776-877-243-7776. What works is the question. By the way, in many instances, nothing works. I'm not telling you, I'm not telling you to ever give up, but look, in many instances of cancer, nothing works. But in many instances, something does work. So I'm asking, with the moral cancer known as the left, what works? That's it. But I have an appreciation of reality and can comprehend that it doesn't always— there isn't always a solution. And I gotta tell you, it is a source of real sadness to me when I meet wonderful, decent human beings with good old-fashioned US values, which of course when a leftist hears it, "Oh, white supremacy? Is that what you're talking about?" How come I never met a white supremacist? I've been to all 50 states. I have met more people than 99% of humanity. Why didn't I ever meet a white supremacist? Where are they hiding? Ah, but their answer is every white is a white supremacist, they just don't know it. That's the first time. Isn't it funny, anti-Semites in Germany knew they were anti-Semites. How is it that white supremacists in America don't know they're white supremacists? Communists knew they were communists. Nazis knew they were Nazis. The first group of evil human beings to not know how evil they are are white Americans. To the point that the mayor of Chicago, who deserves the title moron, has said she'll only have interviews with journalists of color. And that goes— that goes— so liberals hear that, oh, that's silly, oh, that's too far. But, but they'll vote Democrat. That's the point. Democrats in Chicago will vote this woman in if she runs again, or for the next Democrat who is no better. All Democrats are ruining the country. Not all members of the party, all politicians who are Democrats. There might be an exception, and I bless that human being. I don't know of one. But the liberals will vote that way and then say, oh, well, look, I don't agree with the woke. Oh, they go too far. Yeah, but you vote for them. All right. 1-8-Prager-776. The Dennis Prager Show, live from the Relief Factor pain-free studio.

And I am subscribed. My question is, are we as Republicans radical in our ideals? Or rather, does the left see us as radicals? If they do, what can we do to convince leftists that what we want is best for legal Americans in most cases, including them? Well, radical actually means to the root, to the original. If you actually go back to the original phrase of what radical means. But what are you really saying is radical? Are we out of the mainstream? No, they are. What we are talking about is very acceptable public policy. How about this? You put your citizens first. Families are important. You put the citizen over the foreigner. Your trade deals should preserve and protect hardware development and middle-class work. Free markets are a great guide to be able to produce wealth and preserve what we have considered to be and a rather enjoyable lifestyle. Private property is important. At the same time, we're not going to bow down and accept the corporate oligarchy. These are very moderate ideas. If you want radical, I'll go show you some radical ideas. Those are not radical ideas. Our ideas built Western civilization. Of course they're not outside of the mainstream. And what they're doing, again, we have used this phrase so many times and it's important because it just seems to be— there's about 15 things that we talk about here on this program that is just kind of buckets. So I just have to kind of sometimes draw from this bucket and draw from that bucket. This is the gaslighting bucket. We talk about that a lot on this program.

Yes indeed, everybody, I'm Dennis Prager, and I am asking, since we need to know what works, It's a very dark world, the world of the left. It's dark emotionally, it is dark morally, it is dark intellectually. As any of you who have a child or a parent or a friend who believes America is a cesspool, who believes Israel is the aggressor, who believe men give birth and that if you say men do not give birth you are somehow a hater. So you realize that for all of history, every decent human being was a hater because they all thought men did not give birth. Isn't that amazing? We are the children of haters. And of course, it's only right that a biological male compete against biological females in sports competition. That if you think that's unfair, which any person who thinks at all clearly knows it's unfair. You understand how warped your thinking has to be to say it's fair that a biological man compete against biological women? I never believed that so such a vast number of people could be so easily brainwashed. When I said men menstruate, that the left says men menstruate, you could see it. It's on YouTube. I said it on Bill Maher's show, uh, a year and a half ago, right before COVID And he laughed. He said, what? What are you talking about? What are you talking about? He considered it, and the audience laughed at it, considering I had made up nonsense. This is a year and a half ago. Now, if you say men menstruate, no leftist laughs. Of course men menstruate. The ease with which people on the left can have their minds brainwashed is frightening. It is simply frightening. It is a combination of indoctrination and cowardice. Cowardice is 50% of it. I'll say whatever they want me to say, period. That's it. I don't want to offend the left. Offending the right, you pay no consequence. Offending the left, you could lose your job, lose your reputation, be smeared as a hater. Cowardice is the dominant human characteristic. The dominant. God must love cowards. He made a lot of them. So, uh, let's, uh, uh, okay, I'm letting some go because it's not a direct answer. I want a direct answer to my question: what changed you or someone you know? Okay, that's, that's the question on the table. All right, let's see somebody. Pacific Palisades, California. Joe. Hello, Joe.

Hey, uh, good morning, Dennis. Love your show.

Thank you.

Uh, reading the, uh, Genesis Bible, fantastic. I got a great story, actually miraculous, and involved my daughter, who's a 40-year-old successful actress, total Hollywood groupthink. Uh, I couldn't even discuss conservative issues or anything with her because fights would break out, and to keep the family together, I had to stay silent. But what woke her up, this is very interesting. Remember when Donald Trump was at West Point and he went down that metal ramp and was walking very strangely and they said he had brain damage because he thought, they thought he was going to, you know, he was worried about slipping on the ramp. And my daughter said, I've been down those kind of ramps at events so many times. She says, and actresses even spray their shoes. With hairspray because they're so slippery with leather shoes. And she said, my God, if they're lying about all that, what else are they lying about?

That's amazing.

And that began a process for her of questioning everything in the media and questioning the portrayal of Trump.

Is she still— is she still in Hollywood?

Yeah. And she's a committed constitutionalist. Conservative.

Do any of her colleagues— well, it's a great story. Do any of her colleagues know this?

No.

And I'm the same way. I work in the business and my colleagues don't know it either.

In fact, your name isn't Joe, it's Maureen. Thank you, Joe. You never know. I believe his story. You see, that's why it's so important to make it clear that the world of the left is the world of the lie. That's because people don't trust liars. But to awaken to that fact, I mean, you understand Hamas rains rockets over Israel to murder as many Israelis as possible, and Israel is the aggressor. It would be exactly like saying the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, America responded, and America is the aggressor. There is no difference whatsoever. Yet, if the data are accurate with regard to support for either Hamas or Israel, or who holds whom responsible. It is almost an evenly divided America. This, of course, would not have happened decades ago. I grew up in a world of considerably more moral clarity and honesty than the one that kids are being raised in today. Kids truly think men give birth. And to deny that is to be a hater. And it's in the same realm as who's responsible here. Hamas wants to destroy Israel. Does Israel want to destroy the Palestinians? How come there are more Palestinians now than when the Israelis took over the West Bank? Genocide against Palestine is the first genocide in history where the population of the targeted genocide increased. Israelis are good at a lot of things, but apparently they're pretty big failures at genocide. And we're supposed to believe this genocide, genocide. I wish the Nazis had committed such genocide against the Jews, where the Jewish population under their control increased. That Jewish groups do not go crazy when it— when genocide is bandied about as a gigantic lie by the left. But the ADL is useless. It was once useful. It was— it's now just another agent of the left, like everything else. What has not been taken over by the left and therefore lies routinely? Can you name something? Your kids' college, your kids' high school, your kids' teachers, the teachers' unions? Tell me what? The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN? So this is the question on the table: what worked? That was a revealing story. We'll be back in a moment. I'm Dennis Prager. Live from the Relief Factor Pain-Free Studio.

Hamas, the internationally recognized terrorist group, unleashed thousands of missiles aimed indiscriminately at civilian targets in Israel. If it were not for the sophistication and effectiveness of Israel's Iron Dome air defense system, scores of Israelis would be dead. Israeli Defense Forces responded appropriately, bombing Gaza with precise munitions aimed at Hamas terrorists, killing scores of senior terrorist leaders, and exploding the tunnels underneath Gaza. As the IDF begins ground operations, there's no question that Israeli leaders and the Israeli people will be wondering whether or not their key ally, the United States, will be with them as they defend themselves. We ought to be. President Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan should make clear to our ally and to the hard left in their own party: America stands with Israel. Israel should do what is necessary to secure the country and diminish or defeat the threat from Hamas. I'm Hugh Hewitt.

This is why we're fighting for the soul of America. You should be able to share ideas without fear of being fired from your job or shouted down. You are not to be heard. This is one of the few things we have no precedent for in the United States. You have the right to remain silent.

Judge Thomas, do you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?

I do.

I was under constant attack. You're not really black because you're not doing what we expect black people to do. Okay, everybody, I'm Dennis Prager. What has worked? If you understand the left as a cult, you understand a great deal about it. That's why so many have severed ties with parents, like in a cult. That's one of the first things that cults do is remove parental authority and dignity from the cult members. As a result, by the way, I have come to believe that a case could be made that honor your father and mother is the most important of the Ten Commandments. I never thought that, and I've written books on the Ten Commandments. I've written 10,000 words on them in my Bible commentary. I know the Ten Commandments by heart in Hebrew, and I know the Ten Commandments really well. And by the way, an argument could be made for each one of them. That is the amazing thing. For years, I thought do not steal was the most important. Because murder is the stealing of a life. False witness is the stealing of justice. Adultery is the stealing of a spouse. So, do not steal is a very big one. But honor your father and mother is a bedrock of society. It is the vehicle to believe that there are authorities above you. And if you note, there has been a switch of authority. No longer are parents an authority. No longer is God an authority. No longer is the Bible an authority. No longer is a teacher an authority. No longer is a policeman an authority. The only authority today is the media. The media are your authority. What will they say about me? Social media plus the formal media. That, that is how people come to positions. If people were as humiliated for taking left-wing positions, most people would not take left-wing positions. So the question on the table here is, what has worked to get people out of that cult in your life? In other words, for you or for somebody that you know. Okay, let's see here. And in Marina Del Rey, California, hello.

Good morning.

Hi.

Uh, for me, I I found a class called Constitution Alive given by the Patriot Academy. They're free classes, and then they have another class called Biblical Citizenship in Modern America. And the first day of class, I learned that separation of church and state is nowhere— it's just nowhere in the Constitution does it say that. And I learned a lot of lies that I've been thought over the years.

Right.

However, I don't believe that had you been truly on the left, you ever would have visited the Patriot Academy.

Right.

There were some things that led up to that. I found out about Agenda 21. I found out that environmentalists really aren't about the environment, they're about socialism.

How did you find that out?

I was— I live near a gas storage facility that's been leaking And so I was involved with this group to try to shut down that gas storage facility. And I showed up at a protest one day and they were, I just wanted to shut that down, to shut down that one facility that stores 1% of our gas. But I realized that they all wanted to get rid of gas and oil. And I'm like, wait a minute, that's not what I want. So you came to that protest with signs saying Green New Deal and things like that. I'm like, wait a minute. That's not me. That's not what I want.

Okay. Alright, so you came to it earlier than the Patriot Academy. No leftist is going to visit the Patriot Academy, so I had to figure that out. The environmentalist lie is another gigantic lie that there's an existential threat to biological life from global warming. It's a lie that's so gargantuan people believe it. Nothing has changed essentially. Nothing. You realize that? The polar bear thing isn't even a thing. I mean, there are so many books by former leading environmentalists who still care about the environment. By the way, the giveaway that it's all political and not scientific is the opposition of the left to nuclear power. If you really believe that carbon is the source of destruction, future destruction, then why don't you advocate nuclear power, which is completely carbon-free and almost perfectly safe? Because it doesn't change the economy radically enough, that's why. My friends, I'd like to bring to your attention Relief Factor. I'm honored to do so because it works. But first, I want to address something that this gentleman said.

Hi Larry, I'm calling about the subject, uh, lawful orders a police officer gives you.

I know that you don't have to get out of your car and you don't have to roll down your window because I've done it There is a website called defenseadvocates.com, headline, "Know Your Rights: Can the Police Make You Get Out of Your Car?" Quote, "Most encounters with police occur after a traffic stop, and while most traffic stops are routine, the cops are trained to view traffic stops as a potentially dangerous or deadly situation. That view sometimes can result in terrible outcomes." which is why it is imperative that everyone knows their rights. So far, so good. A situation that arises more often than not is a police officer asking someone to get out of his or her car following a routine traffic stop. While common sense says that being asked by the police to get out of your car after being stopped for something as trivial as an expired registration sticker or not using a turn signal is unreasonable and an invasion of someone's rights, the United States Supreme Court has held otherwise. In a landmark decision, the Supreme Court held that the police can make you get out of your car after a valid traffic stop. This ruling applied to the driver and all the passengers in the car. Because of this ruling, in Pennsylvania versus Mims, a person must exit their car if ordered to do so by the police. End of quote.

And Katie in your Belinda and my Belinda, California.

Hello, good morning, Dennis.

Hi.

Hi. So I was born— left, um, born and raised in Louisiana and Texas, and basically I moved to California and saw what it is firsthand. And we started, um, I was Episcopalian and my husband and I started going to, uh, the fringe church here, evangelical. And basically there is no way you can believe in God and go to church and practice leftism.

So going to, uh, So did you ever vote Democrat?

I voted for Barack Obama twice.

All right, you count. You met the criteria of this hour. And so going to church turned you around, essentially?

Going to church, and I just think, you know, I think it's very easy to be a Democrat in Texas, or back then, that's before everybody left here to go. To Texas, because that's not what's practiced in government.

Oh, you're very intelligent. In other words, yes, that's a very important point. In Texas, you don't see the damage the left does when they're in power. In California, you do, and almost immediately. Okay, that is great. Give, give this woman a cigar. And then she'll give it to her husband or somebody. By the way, it's a very interesting question. Can you believe— not just believe— can you embrace Christianity's values, Judaism's values, and be a leftist? I don't believe it's possible. They are in complete conflict. You could be a liberal. In fact, it makes perfect sense. But you cannot be a leftist. Leftism is the antithesis of Judeo-Christian values. I've delineated that in article after article. Everything the Bible basically stands for, even like the Bible's warnings that you not rely on your heart, the whole leftist thing is follow your heart. There's a law in Deuteronomy that a man cannot wear women's clothing in public. All right, so what does the left do with it? Says the Bible is archaic. But if the Bible's archaic, what's your religion? I'll tell you your religion. It's you. It's the New York Times editorial page. It's the University of California at Berkeley. That's your church. Okay, that church is the opposite of what the church should be teaching. That was an intelligent call and I thank you for it. Okay. And Bernie, Texas.

Brooke.

Hello, Brooke.

Hi, Dennis. Thank you for taking my call. Um, that's funny. Your last caller, I am from California but moved to Texas. So it's interesting seeing how much better it makes more sense.

Yes.

Um, so I was never really like a leftist or liberal or anything. I just kind of have never paid attention to anything. I had kids young and was just busy. And I think when everything happened with George Floyd, it's just a crazy time. And my brother sent me a Candace Owens video that just changed my whole life.

See, it works. I beg people to send videos that matter or articles that matter. That's exactly right. Yes, it, you know, with a non-offending note. Listen, can I ask you for 10 minutes, 5 minutes?

Right. Same with the PragerU videos, the Carol Swain video on the truth, or incommunicate truth of the Democratic Party. That one was like a nail in the coffin for me.

Well, you made my day. That's right. That's why we produce these videos. Candace is terrific. The number of wonderful Black conservatives is quite remarkable. And we have quite a few of those videos on PragerU. Not just PragerU, Larry Elder, of course, is like a dean of of these people. Larry and I are very close, been for many years. I have— among my greatest achievements in life is bringing Larry Elder to radio. He was a lawyer in Cleveland when, by unbelievable circumstance, I met him for reasons I cannot even recall. I don't know, 25 years ago? I sat in as a co-host of a morning, the morning, the most popular morning TV show in Cleveland, which was very hard. It means I had to get up at 3 AM Pacific time. But anyway, he was one of the guests that would come on weekly, a lawyer to come on. And I knew immediately this man is exceptional. All right, we continue. What changed you or someone you know? It is morally, intellectually, emotionally dark, as any of you who have lost a loved one to it can testify. Here's a simple question. When you go from conservative— not to liberal, I know many of you are annoyed that I draw a distinction between liberal and left because the liberals vote for the left. That liberals vote like useful idiots does not mean that they don't have good values. They don't vote their values. This is the crime of liberals. They don't vote their values. They vote for the left. They vote for people who believe in all-black dorms. She's announced it and gets away with it because the left is taught that a black cannot be a racist. I was taught that in the 1970s as at Columbia. A black cannot be a racist. That was one of the many things that very early on inoculated me against leftism, because I can't take the absurd. Forget the immoral. I can't take the absurd. The idea that a black cannot be a racist is absurd. It's morally idiotic, but it is completely antipathetic to simple reason. If Lori Lightfoot's comment is not racist, the term has no meaning. I will not have an interview with a non-Black. But there's nothing— I am convinced there is nothing a Democrat can do that liberals would vote Republican.

Nothing.

Astonishing. Uh, let's see here. All right, Dick, Craig, Mike, Angela, Bruce, Elaine, and John. Once again, the painful part of being a talk show host, certainly for me, is each one of you has something important to say, and I I just don't have the time. But this is a very important subject, and that of course is why we have this show. Prager Utopia is a way to send the show to anybody without commercials. Go to pragertopia.com. We continue.

I am here to share the news far and wide. Emperor Biden says the rule is simple: you get vaccinated or wear a mask until you do. The choice is yours. We finally get a choice. Get vaccinated. Is this not the weirdest week you have ever experienced? Now the CDC director has decided on Thursday, if you're vaccinated, you no longer need to wear a mask indoors or outdoors. I like this version of Rochelle Walensky a heck of a lot more than I liked her crying and saying she feels an impending doom is coming. Remember that doozy? But this is better.

And I'm afraid that we have become so in love with this idea of kind of horse jockeying. I kind of prefer that phrase, quite honestly, better than competition. So I think that there's some— again, we're getting into semantics here, but I guess what I'm trying to say is if your whole life is just trying to outdo another person, that's actually not what's good for society. Ayn Rand had a wonderful quote about this, and I get beat up all the time by Christians for quoting Ayn Rand. I just don't think you understand Ayn Rand. Ayn Rand was an outspoken atheist, but by the end of her life, there's a great piece written by Steve Mariotti Dennis Prager, who claims that Ayn Rand accepted that there was a God. In fact, can you find that piece? Steve Mariotti, Ayn Rand's Hidden Religion. It's very good. It's totally debated by Ayn Rand atheists. But Ayn Rand had a phenomenal quote that says, I will not make you live for another person. Do not make me live for you. And Ayn Rand had a very provocative statement in her magnum opus, Atlas Shrugged, which I think is a terrific book. And again, I don't look to her for religious purpose. I'm a Bible-believing evangelical Christian. But I think that she had a phenomenal way of capturing the threat of totalitarianism and the need for individuals to stand with courage. The preference on reason and logic, not as the only human value in my worldview. And it's a very significant piece of literature, and I encourage everyone to check it out. In a lot of different ways. We need more John Galt and Hank Reardons. And that little snapshot of Atlas Shrugged does a phenomenal job of that. But Ayn Rand had another quote, and I'm going to find it in a second, where Ayn argued that the most immoral thing you can do is to say that you're living just to beat others.

We've got millions of jobs empty because people are picking up $600 extra to stay at home on top of their unemployment. So is that not a countervailing piece of evidence to the fact that Americans believe in capitalism if they're sitting at home just waiting for that government handout?

Because they are capitalists, right? They're not stupid. I mean, it's pretty hard to compete when Uncle Joe's offering $600 not to get off your couch. It's pretty hard to say, okay, now I'm gonna go wash dishes. $300 from federal, often $300 from state. So you get to a number that in many cases is like $600, which is better than washing dishes. But you see a lot of people in this environment, I believe, are still doing things in the gig economy, right, for cash under the table. This troubles me because I don't wanna be like Europe, and that's exactly what happens in Europe. You have a very high unemployment rate typically, but a lot of people are doing things under the table. I mean, can we talk Greece for a second, right, where part of their problem was nobody was paying their taxes? We don't want a system like that. I think Americans, overall, I've got to believe, don't want that. I do think they take advantage of the situation as it is. They're, you know, they're not dumb. People are logical and Uncle Joe's paying well.

I'm going to take my life in my hands here and live on radio in front of millions. I'm going to correct Trish Regan. In Greece, where they were taking money under the table, where they are taking money under the table. I lived there for 20 Oh my gosh, how long did I live? 28 years. I'm joined now by Florida Senator Rick Scott. Good morning, Senator.

How are you?

Good morning, boy. You can tell we have a new president. Look at all the problems we have around the world.

Well, I am astonished. I am astonished by the fact that Andrew Yang, who would be mayor of New York, had to walk back his comments in support of Israel. What are your comments on the attack on Israel, Senator Scott, and the Democratic reaction to it?

Well, first off, it's disgusting. I've had a lot of— I've been in Israel quite a bit, and I was right next to the Gaza Strip, and I was in the bomb shelters they were showing me. Fortunately, there were no missiles when I was down there, but they showed me how the Iron Dome worked. They've shown me what their security is for all their citizens, and it's disgusting what's going on. We need to stand up for Israel. We need to stop trying to make friends with Iran. They're not our friends. We need to tell Iran, you want to talk to us? You know, stop being a state sponsor of terrorism. Stop talking to the Palestinians. They're not out there to help create peace. All they do is cause havoc. So stand up for Israel. I mean, quit being— Biden's just this weak president that he wants to be everybody's friend, which means he's nobody's friend.

Now, you are the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee in this cycle, which means you're responsible for getting the majority back. Arizona, Georgia, New Hampshire, Nevada. Those are the 4 Democratic major vulnerabilities. But I am curious whether or not the Biden administration initial failure in jobs number very low, inflation very high. Is that encouraging people to come to you and explore races?

It's doing 2 things. One, it's— there's more people want to run. Two, there's more people want to help make sure we win.

With thanks to Hans Zimmer, who composed this music. It is from Gladiator. I am well aware of the fact that my program has ruined the movie for many of you, because the theme comes on, and instead of being engrossed in the movie, you're thinking of the Dennis Prager Show. I have some sympathy for you when that happens. Oh, is that it? According to my technical director, who's just been demoted to assistant technical director. I don't know to whom, just demoted. People think of me in a gladiator outfit and that presents problems. I don't think so, but I'm wrong. Anyway, welcome to the show. I'm Dennis Prager. Last hour I asked the question, what works? In bringing people just to revere truth. And certainly that would encompass revering America with all its flaws. Let me make something clear about America. America is made up of humans. Humans are deeply flawed. The issue is not why has America been flawed. Every society has been flawed. The question is stupid. The question is not why has America been flawed, but why has America been so decent compared to other countries? That's the question that any person with a modicum of wisdom would ask. Who did better? Who provided more people more freedom, more ability to succeed, more opportunity than the United States of America? There is none. It is the last best hope on earth, as Lincoln said. Well, I have a guest who is doing his part. We are asked, I am asked with regard to PragerU, I am asked more than any other single question— that's not true. The single most common question I'm asked is, how's Otto? I admit it, my bulldog who's on my fireside chat. The second most frequent question is, when will you do stuff for young kids? Because everybody understands that our videos are perfect for high school through death, through 120. But what about younger than high school or even early elementary school? Well, we have decided to do something big, really big, at Prager University, and it is titled PREP, PragerU Resources for Educators and Parents. And among its projects, there are many, many aspects to it, but among the project is to produce animated videos for kids to learn history, not to produce conservatives, to just learn history. By the way, that's true for basically all of our videos. They are, they are, believe it or not, they're not overwhelmingly political. But my videos on the Ten Commandments, you know, to teach people that they should honor their parents or that it is wrong to steal, is that a right-wing position? Well, it might be. That's the irony. So we are producing now videos on American history, for example, animated videos. I saw the one on— the first one is about Ronald Reagan, introducing kids to Ronald Reagan, and it is done in a cartoon that is titled Leo and Layla's History Adventures. It's going to be a series of cartoons, and the writer for PREP, for the Prager Resources for Education, Prager Resources for Education and Parents, Justin Kite, is with me in the studio. First of all, I want to commend you on a terrific job. It is not easy at all. I was watching it. I write for a living. I know I could not write it. I, you know, I wouldn't know where to start. So you did a really terrific job and I salute you.

Thank you very much.

Thanks for having me. Yes, sir. So let's learn a little about you. I learned a little about you today and You have one of the rarest curriculum vitas, CVs, resume. You moved from Texas to California. So my first question is, did U-Haul pay you?

They were very excited when I called them. They gave me a good deal, I'll put it that way.

Of course.

And as I was driving out here 7 weeks ago, About— I couldn't go 10 minutes without seeing a U-Haul in the other direction. And about Arizona, I was like, am I making the right decision here? But, uh, but 7 weeks in, I certainly did.

That's what— but it is funny to think U-Haul needs somebody to bring their trucks back so that the next batch of Californians could move. So that's why I asked if they paid you. And they have to pay somebody to bring it back.

And they called about every 15 minutes making sure that I was going to bring it over to Hazleton and the 101, right, to drop it off.

That's so funny. They, they were calling to make sure, sir, do we have it right? Are you going west?

That's what my, my friends and family say too.

Yeah. Is that right? So how long, how long have you now been here?

7 weeks.

Here, by the way, for those of you, is California, of course, where I live still. At about 7 weeks?

Mm-hmm.

I see. But of course you're in a sort of non-California-like environment working at PragerU.

9 to 5, yeah, but it's very much California after 5 o'clock. Yeah, after quitting time.

That is funny. So do you wish we were located in Texas?

Either Florida or Tennessee, or, you know, but California, you know, you can't complain about the weather.

I know the weather here, if it weren't for the weather, no one would be living here. This part of the country would be empty. That is, the left has a great deal of luck in the weather that exists here, on the whole West Coast for that matter, but especially here. So you have written this cartoon. How long is it, by the way? 10 minutes?

We aim for anywhere between 5 and 10.

Right. It seemed long, which is a credit to you, by the way.

I—

not long because it wasn't riveting, but long because there was a lot of wonderful information in it. Well, thanks. Thanks.

I wrapped up a Frederick Douglass script yesterday and trying to fit him in under 10 minutes was a real challenge.

Yeah, so, uh, I mean, obviously people want to know, how do they show their kids these, these cartoons to teach them history and not propaganda?

Uh, well, prageru.com/kids gives you access to the videos. Um, you don't have to— you don't have to, to pay anything. Um, it's, it's, it's easily accessible for everyone. And I know that even, you know, in our in our title of PREP, like, we really do push the parent aspect. But from my background as an educator, I think that our materials are wonderful for the school setting and for teachers to use as resources.

I want to emphasize, folks, again, there is no intent here to produce young activists. We're not a right equivalent of the left. It just teaches— in fact, I I talked to you before you came on. I don't know if you— have you ever voted for a Republican president?

I have not voted for a Republican president or representative or senator.

Right, okay. Just, I mean, this may surprise you to know that. We want kids to get truth because they're not getting it in schools. There they're getting propaganda. This cartoon about Ronald Reagan is an introduction to a remarkable man. And you do learn a great deal. By the way, I have to say, the man who did Ronald Reagan's voice had me believing it was Ronald Reagan speaking.

Well, he's got such a distinct voice, and, uh, and I think we nailed it, you know, for as good as you can do.

Yes, uh, it was, it was really beautifully done. So what is the next one?

We'll have Adam Smith coming next month.

Imagine that, a cartoon for kids about Adam Smith. That is mind-boggling.

And we, you know, we give a neutral, truthful version of history, but we also really try to hammer home the values that are associated with it too. And so, like, in the Adam Smith episode, we're really trying to say that being self-interested benefits others. And being self-interested oftentimes gets confused with being selfish.

And so that's right. Bless you. That's at prageru.com/kids.

That was good.

No, yeah, very. I mean, everything we said, Dennis, is just Trending now on the Larry Elder Show.

But first, I want to address something that this gentleman said.

Hi, Larry, I'm calling about the subject, uh, lawful orders a police officer gives you. I know that you don't have to get out of your car and you don't have to roll down your window because I've done it.

There is a website called defenseadvocates.com, headline Know Your Rights. Can the police make you get out of your car? Quote, most encounters with police occur after a traffic stop, and while most traffic stops are routine, the cops are trained to view traffic stops as a potentially dangerous or deadly situation. That view sometimes can result in terrible outcomes, which is why it is imperative that everyone knows their rights. Because of this ruling in Pennsylvania versus Mims, a person must exit their car if ordered to do so by the police. End of quote.

I'm fucking joking. What is this? By the way, we don't have music anymore going out. Is that a new policy? I don't care, I'm just curious. All right, everybody. PragerU.com/kids. It's just to teach them the truth, because we know that the truth will convince them, for example, of America's greatness. There is no emphasis on being an activist and anything like that. It is the antithesis of what they're getting in most schools. Okay, y'all, President Biden spoke at the Coast Guard Academy commencement. Here is an excerpt. I just appointed 3 women as combatant commanders around the world. And those numbers are going up year by year. As I said, I recently nominated Vice Admiral Linda Fagan, Class of '85, Coast Guard, as the first female 4-star admiral. We need to see more women at the highest levels of command. We have to make sure that women have a chance to succeed throughout their careers. All right. Hold on a second. We need to see more women in command. And there are two separate issues here. Because he said we have to make it possible for women to succeed in the armed forces. So there are two separate issues. They might be, they might not be separate. That's fair too. But it seems to me that there are two separate issues. What enables women to rise in the ranks of the military and what is best for the military. They might be identical issues. The more women commanders, generals, etc., the better. We will fight more effectively with more women commanders, with more women in the combat units of the various services. If that is the case, this is a terrific development. The question is, is that the case? If you served in the armed forces or not, do you believe that all things being equal, we will be more— we will be a greater fighting force with half of the Commanders in the armed forces, female. Half the pilots in the Air Force, half the Marines. I don't know if the Marines have women, I don't remember. They might be the one service still not. And if you believe that, then why not two-thirds? To which I think a Biden or anyone on the left would say, why not? Of course, absolutely. But if all the commanders were female— there was a time when all the commanders were male, and we know the record. Let's put it this way, we know the record of male commanders in the, in U.S. Armed Forces history. It's been quite remarkable. So the question is, will it be even better, just as good, or less good if half of those positions are filled by women? So let me tell you my, my concern. That there are terrific women in the armed forces goes without saying. The question is What will the effect be on men in the armed forces? And your, uh, your, your answer to that question would interest me. So let me give you a completely different example, one that is as opposite from the armed forces as possible: the clergy. So I remember I started out very active within Jewish life. I was the director of a Jewish, major Jewish educational institution. I had written the most widely used English introduction to Judaism. It's still in print, The Nine Questions People Ask About Judaism. I was quite involved in Jewish life. I spoke all over synagogues in the United States and Canada. And the debate then was, should women be ordained? This was not a debate in Orthodox Judaism, but in the two other major branches, Reform and Conservative. Should women be ordained as rabbis? And I remember saying I was in my 30s, and I remember saying that it's clear there are women who have the knowledge and character and personality to be wonderful Jewish leaders. That's not the only question, however, I said. Another question is, will men continue to seek to be cantors and rabbis. As more women become cantors and rabbis, men tend— I learned this from George Gilder when I was in college— men tend to try to find areas where they are indisputably necessary. And sure enough, there are virtually no male cantors any longer in the Reform and Conservative movements. Virtually none. There are whole classes of cantors at the seminaries who are just 99% or 100% women. And among the rabbis, it's at least half. So men have largely opted out of the non-Orthodox clergy as women have come in. Second, will female rabbis, and you can add, if you will, Protestant ministers— there are no female priests yet in the Catholic Church— will female ministers, pastors, rabbis, attract more young people to the church or the synagogue. And it turns out that they have not. So there's no way to make a case against the excellence of some women in these positions. But that is not the only question mature people have to ask, and that is, what is the larger effect? For example, if half of our commanders are female in all of our armed forces, will America be perceived by its enemies equally as frightening as it is perceived today? If the answer is yes, it's a non-issue. What do you think? Dennis Prager, 1-8 Prager 776.

I'm gonna take my life in my hands here and live on radio in front of millions. I'm going to correct Trish Regan.

Hi everybody, I'm Dennis Prager. Let me play the last 22 seconds of the President Biden clip at the Coast Guard graduation. Women hold up half the world. It's an absolute stupid position not to make sure they represent at least half of what we do. Every member of law enforcement should feel safe and respected in the ranks. It's a stupid position? Maybe it is. That's my question. Is it a stupid position to ask, just to ask, does it benefit the military? Will it bring in the best men, for example? It may well bring in the best women. Will it bring in the best men if half the ranks are female and half the commanders are female? I saw what happened in religious life when women were ordained, and it did not have the effect of bringing in the best men into the clergy, and it did not have the effect of bringing people into church without denying the excellence of any given woman in that position. There's only one question that one asks with regard to the military: how do you make it better, tougher? A strong American military is the greatest avenue to peace on Earth. As I've often said, if the Nobel Peace Prize were given honestly, it would be given to the American Armed Forces. All right, let's see. We have a woman who's a retired naval officer calling. Excellent. In Sacramento, California. Thank you.

Yeah, thank you. Um, I retired in '94. I was a cryptologist. I've called in before and I met you 2 years ago in Roseville. Um, I hated working for women.

I really did.

Uh, there were very, very few in cryptology, in Navy cryptology. Yet, um, I was rated— uh, I was one of, I think, 2 in our headquarters in Washington, DC. I was rated, uh, Commander there said I was— I operated a level mess like few officers in the Navy, and that means men and women. And the National Security Agency, my last tour of duty, the director of operations there said I was a staff officer par excellence. And if I'd been working for women, there's a competition there that I hate. And plus, women are— I find women are bitchy. I just don't like working for them and generally don't like working with them. There's a competition that's that's not good. My daughter experienced this at Cal Poly as an undergrad, so she changed her major as a result of it. Anyway, so that's just my comment.

All right, well, that's very— thank you. I had no idea what you would say. I thought you would take issue with me, and I appreciate your calling, and I appreciate your service. Cryptology, obviously, any area of intelligence is not the same as the combat arena, and that's what I'm addressing specifically here. Uh, the female mind is as good as any male mind. I mean, that, that is a given to me. The larger question remains, and that is what is good for America as a combat force. I long ago suggested, and obviously went nowhere, but I, I will restate my suggestion. If there is no difference between men and women in the armed forces, why not have, given the, the problems that arise from sexually integrated ships and units in the Army and so on, from harassment to pregnancy to even tragically and evilly on occasion rape.

The—

I don't understand why there aren't a women's division and a male division in the armed forces. If one really believes there is absolutely no difference in the combat— in combat, we're talking about combat— between female commanders and female warriors, as it were, in whatever service it might be, just have them separate. The women's, a women's battleship, a man's battleship, a a male platoon, a female platoon, then you have the camaraderie of the same-sex people. There's no sexual tension. There's nobody preoccupied with a love interest or a sexual interest. And what would be so bad about that? Columbus, Ohio, and Peter. Hello, Peter. Dennis Prager.

Hi, Dennis Prager. Uh, Pete, retired Marine officer, and I commanded— and I actually commanded the first female helicopter pilot in the Marine Corps, along with a number of other females. And it was quite a challenge. Uh, spent a lot of time in Iraq and Afghanistan and on board ship. I got about 4 years on board ship as a Marine, and My experience was it was a social project that failed in many aspects, very similar to what you explained with the ministries. And I think men will just kind of part their ways with it.

Is that— all right, I want to further hear from you on that. We'll be back in a moment. I couldn't interrupt the guy. Just put him on the studio. I'm not blaming—

Hi, Charlie. My name is Jacob and I am subscribed. My question is, are we as Republicans radical in our ideals, or rather does the left see us as radicals? If they do, what can we do to convince leftists that what we want is best for legal Americans in most cases, including them? Well, radical actually means to the root, to the original. If you actually go back to the original phrase of what radical means. But what are you really saying is radical? Are we out of the mainstream? No, they are. What we are talking about is very Acceptable public policy. How about this? You put your citizens first. Families are important. You put the citizen over the foreigner. Your trade deals should preserve and protect hardware development and middle class
