A speaker questions whether saying God created someone deaf should prevent cochlear implants, and argues that while God wants justice and love, we cannot know God's exact actions. He affirms that Genesis describes humans as male and female, rejecting claims that people can change sex or that God makes people gay.

This notion, this is how God created me, is one I'm very, very hesitant to use. People use it all the time. If your child is born deaf, people will say that, well, God created my child deaf. So what does that mean? You won't go for a cochlear implant later? What if there is a surgery that enables a person to hear? You won't give that child? Are you insulting the way God made the child? I don't know how God operates. I know what God wants, because he told me in Micah, oh man, God has told you all he wants, to pursue justice, love goodness, and walk humbly with your God. I know what God wants, but I don't know what God does. It's not knowable to us mortals. So, I mean, once you say that, by the way, you fall into, into a trap because gay people say, God made me gay. Do you believe that God made them gay? Well, if you believe that God made you male and God made you female, then, then did God make you— now, I believe God made the human being male and female. That's what it says in Genesis. I believe that. I don't believe, I don't believe you can become the other sex, and I don't believe you could be neither sex. It's very tempting to want to think that God did X or Y, but that's why I call my Bible commentary The Rational Bible. I, I can't, I can't abandon reason.
