Why don't couples talk about their problems to friends? I'm talking marital problems. They will talk about anything else before that. Financial problems, problems with their children. Those are the two most sensitive areas, I think, in couples' lives. And people feel sometimes embarrassed to talk about their, their kids' problems as if it reflects on them. But they will. But marital problems, it's very rare that Couples will open up, and I have a belief that a lot of marital— not all, but a lot of marital problems could be solved or certainly helped a great deal if every couple had a couple to whom they could talk about their marriage. Now obviously you need mature and good friends to do this, but that's true for anything. You should have mature and good friends. If your friends don't meet those criteria, you should go shopping for other friends. So those presumptions having been made, why don't people do it? I guess the answer is embarrassment. I can't think of another answer. For the full episode of The Dennis Prager Show, go to pragertopia.com, sign up, and become a full member.
