Four Levels of competencies. Which skills are you ignoring and what Level?

In this Hindi YouTube talk, Yogendra Kumar Malik walks viewers through the four classic stages of competence: (1) Unconscious Incompetence – the state where a person is unaware of a skill gap, illustrated with the example of not knowing the need to learn driving; (2) Conscious Incompetence – the moment of awareness that a skill is lacking, yet the person resists learning, likened to people who avoid swimming despite its benefits; (3) Conscious Competence – the stage where the skill is learned and applied deliberately, such as actively practicing driving, swimming, or digital marketing; and (4) Unconscious Competence – the level where the skill becomes automatic and requires no conscious effort, exemplified by seasoned digital marketers or drivers who operate without thinking. Malik uses everyday activities (driving, swimming, digital marketing, video creation) to make the concepts relatable, emphasizes that everyone must cross all four levels to achieve mastery, and ends with a call to action asking viewers to comment on the skills they are currently avoiding. The tone is conversational, enthusiastic, and motivational, aiming to inspire self‑reflection and proactive learning.
