“Insurance Agents: Prepare NOW Before Commission Rules Change!”

In this Hindi YouTube presentation, Yogendra Kumar Malik warns insurance agents that the IRDAI is likely to change the first‑year commission structure, moving from a lump‑sum payout to a staggered, possibly lower, model. He stresses that agents who rely heavily on first‑year commissions must immediately shift their business mindset. He outlines five concrete actions: (1) stop depending solely on first‑year commissions and start building renewal and recurring income streams; (2) turn existing client books into "gold mines" by reviewing old portfolios, securing renewals, and generating referrals, using persistence as a key performance indicator (KPI); (3) adopt persistence as a measurable KPI, tracking renewals and client engagement; (4) create multiple income streams by offering a suite of products (life, health, motor, etc.) so families stay attached to the agent for all their financial needs; and (5) elevate the agent’s role to that of a family’s financial guardian through stronger personal branding, client education, and digital automation. He warns that if commission structures change and the agent’s business system is not resilient, income will suffer, so agents must build a systematic, automated, and diversified business model now.
