A lot of people these days are gaining weight and some having health issues. There are several reasons for people to be gaining weight, but you know, we need to be aware of what we should be doing and what we shouldn't be doing. So there's Donts and there is dos. There is don'ts and there is dos. Now when you start gaining all that weight, you will have health issues. When you're young, those issues might be less, but as you grow older and with excess body weight, you could have metabolic problems such as heart problems, blood pressure, diabetes, metabolic, musculoskeletal systems problems. There are several problems that can come about. What happens is in the initial days of you gaining weight, you don't realize it. It's that first, the first layer of fat that comes on your belly, then the second layer, then the third layer. By the time you come to the fifth layer, your clothes are beginning to feel a little tighter. That's when you realize and you start waking up and you check your weight and you realize that you've already gained, say, about 10 pounds. Now I don't want you to panic when you see that on the scale, but what I want you to understand is taking appropriate action at the right time is very, very important. So there are action takers who get the results, and there are people who say that, oh, I've actually gained some weight and it, it'll go away on its own. Guys, weight doesn't go away on its own. There are some things that you have done that has caused the weight gain, and so those are the things that you need to move away and you should not do those things. And there are some things that you have not done which has caused the weight gain, and those are the things that you need to add into yours. So there's don'ts and there's dos. Hi, my name is Dinaaz, and in this video I will be sharing with you 10 tips that will help you to lose weight and to get you on a very healthy life. So there will be 5 don'ts and there'll be 5 dos. The 5 don'ts are as follows. The first don't is cut out all junk food from your diet. Junk food, which means you often order out from outside, which is from Swiggy or Zomato, and you tend to eat pizzas, burgers, pastas, rolls, from outside. Now when these foods are made outside and you eat them, you're not sure of what oil goes into them, you're not sure of the spices, you're not sure of the quality of veggies and fruits, veggies that have gone in, the quality of oil that they have used, how processed is the bread. You don't know. Those are not things in your control. When you consume that, that causes a lot of gastritis, eh, in your body. And the free radicals in the body go up. Now these free radicals, when they go up, they have a tendency of attracting more fat in each fatty cell. So you need to be aware that you cannot keep eating junk food all the time in your day-to-day foods. Second is to cut out all the packaged foods. So when we talk about packaged foods, our favorite foods are Lay's biscuits, some crunchy stuff such as savory items. These are all items which are available in the inner aisles of the supermarkets. First and foremost, try to avoid going to the inner aisles. Secondly, avoid keeping these packaged foods on your table, whether it's in your office or whether it's in your home or whether it's in your kitchen. And if you do keep these processed foods, packaged foods in your home, keep them at the back so that you can't see them, and then you have to really think through before you reach out. Always keep those healthy snacks rather than packaged snacks in your diet, in your bags. So cut out these packaged foods as much as possible for you to be able to lose weight and to lead a healthy life. Number 3 is drinks. Aerated drinks, packaged drinks, uh, and alcoholic drinks. These are 3 types of drinks which are not at all safe for you. These are just empty sugary drinks which go into your body and just go and add on to that other layer of fat. So cut out a lot of these aerated drinks. It's just a bad habit. Get rid of it and try not to consume it. Just drink plain and simple water like this. So get out of consuming a lot of aerated drinks. Fourth is processed foods. Processed foods such as, you know, sausages, processed foods such as maida, these are all things— breads, bakery items, biscuits— These are all items which are very processed and they have a lot of chemicals and preservatives in them. Now these items, when you consume them, they lower your metabolic rate rather than increasing it. And when your metabolic rate gets lowered, you are not going to be able to burn fat. So get out— get all these processed foods away from your diet. The fifth one and the most dangerous one is sugary items. Sugary items not doing any good to you. Desserts. I often listen to people saying, oh, I love desserts, I can't stay without sugars, I can't— these are all can'ts and dos. These are all things that are there in your mind because there's so much available out there for you and you've got used to it. So first and foremost, too much of sugary items such as cakes, sweets, desserts, ice creams, these are all things that you want to keep in control. So that it helps you to lose weight and it prevents you— most importantly, it prevents you from gaining that weight also. So the 5, I hope you've made a note of that. If you haven't, go grab a pen and paper. I'll pause for a second. Grab yourself a pen and paper or make notes on your phone and make sure that you look at these or you've stuck them on your fridge every single day. First one is junk food. No eating junk food at all. Second one is avoid packaged foods as much as possible. Third one is avoid drinks, whether it is aerated drinks or alcoholic drinks. Fourth one is processed foods, and fifth one is sugary items. These are the don'ts in our, in our day-to-day life. Now there are a few dos which will help you to lose weight and which will help you to increase your metabolic rate, and it will help you to lead a super healthy life. So the dos are: eat a lot of whole grains such as lentils, chanas, wheat, quinoa, a lot of sprouts. These are all full grains that will— you know, you actually chew these grains to eat. So when you— oats— when you chew these in your day-to-day life, your rate at which you're burning calories goes up. So have a lot of whole grain in your diet. Secondly, consume a lot of fruits. It's not about what you eat, it's about how you eat it also, and it's about the type of food that you eat. So the more fibrous fruits that you get, insoluble and soluble fibrous fruits that you eat in your body, for example, in your day-to-day life, so for example, pomegranate, papaya, watermelon, apples, pears, guava. These are all fruits which are locally available in our country. Go buy these fruits and eat them at least twice a day. By doing that, you're getting a lot of vitamins and minerals in your diet, and that way you don't need to take a vitamin tablet every single day. Do you know that I have all these things in my diet every day and I do not take a single vitamin tablet? I've never taken a vitamin tablet ever in my life. The third most important ingredient that you need to consume is vegetables. Very often in a lot of Indian homes especially, people have large quantities of carbohydrates, for example rice, then a little bit of dal, and a little bit of sabzi to the side. I want you to know that you need to reverse it. So buy more vegetables and cook them more lightly. So just sauté them with salt and pepper. So have a larger bowl of vegetables, then a little bit of rice to the side, and a little bit of dal. And that way you are getting more vegetables. Again, micronutrients and macronutrients are going into your system. The fourth important part is having a lot of protein in your diet. Too much is not good, and no protein as well is not good. So your body needs protein because you have a lot of muscles in your body, and your muscles feed on protein. The way you do it is to add a little bit of protein in every meal. For example, breakfast, you can eat either a veg egg white, or you could have a piece of paneer or a piece of tofu. And for lunch, you can have a little bit of chicken or some non-vegetarian. And if you're a vegetarian, you can have a bowl of chana, or you can have a bowl of roasted peanuts. And for dinner, again, you can have a little bit of paneer with vegetables, or you can have a little bit of fish. And some— any kind of meat that you like, small quantities is going to help in repairing your muscles that are broken down every single day. So the fifth most important point is, which you cannot avoid, is workouts. If you want to lose weight and you want to get healthy and you want to get fit, just cutting out these things in your diet and adding these things in your diet are not going to help. Workouts help tremendously in burning fat, in giving a glow to your face, in making your skin look brighter. You start looking younger, you start feeling more energetic, you become a ball of energy. Like, I am always, always super energetic throughout the day, and that's because I work out every single day. I take a day off on a Sunday, but I work out from Monday to Saturday every single day. So These are all not things that I'm sharing with you from any books, any videos, any Google, nothing. These are all things that have worked for me over the years in my personal life, and that's really going to help you. So let's just do a quick recap. The recap is of don'ts and dos. The don't is no junk food, keep the packaged foods away from your diet. No drinks, whether it's aerated or alcoholic drinks. No processed foods and no sugary items. The dos are just 5: whole grains in your diet, fruits in your diet, vegetables in your diet, proteins in your diet, and lots and lots of workouts. These are simple things that are going to really, really help you.
