Have you heard of mindful walking? A lot of you walk, a lot of you go out to the park, and a lot of you walk at home. I want you to know that I practice something that's called mindful walking. What exactly is mindful walking? Mindful walking is a practice that helps you to walk with a lot of concentration. The concentration is not on your physical body. While your physical body is in motion by walking, Mindful walking is activating your subconscious mind rather than just walking mindlessly. You know, when I go out to the park, I see a lot of people walking and I see a lot of people talking and I see a lot of people discussing a whole lot of long, loud things at the top of their voices. But I like to practice mindful walking, and mindful walking is walking along with meditation. How cool is that? A lot of people cannot sit in one place and do meditation where you have to sit down comfortably with your arms, with your palms facing the ceiling, eyes closed, and then you start getting fidgety, you start getting itchy. A lot of people cannot do this kind of meditation. Simultaneously, a lot of people cannot walk continuously because of several reasons— laziness, knee pain, no time. All those not motivated enough, there are several reasons, but I have learnt to integrate meditation and walking. In the yesteryears when I started meditation, I could not sit still for even a minute. And I realized that I did not have to sit with my eyes closed to go into that meditative state. If I programmed my mind and I focused on my breath and I focused on my thoughts that according to me is meditation. And I have, in the last 10 years, have started practicing what I call mindful meditation. Mindful meditation is nothing but when you're walking by yourself, you need to focus on your thoughts. You must have realized that while walking, your thoughts are wandering everywhere. What should I cook? How am I going to go to work? What is my boss going to say? What is it that you're thinking all the time? And our thoughts are racing in our mind all the time, and this is what causes havoc in your mind and your body. Mindful walking is nothing but when you're walking, whether it is in your home or whether it is in the park or on the road, you need to start thinking positive thoughts which are going to support you in your journey. Now let me tell you What I exactly— what exactly do I do for mindful walking? When I'm walking by myself, I take one mantra of mine, which is one affirmation of mine, and I chant it again and again and again. Say, for example, I'm going to walk, say, 4 kilometers. In the first kilometer, I'll take one of my mantras and say, I am getting stronger and stronger day by day in every way. And I'll repeat it again and again and again. It becomes an autopilot, auto-repeat, and that is why it's called autosuggestion. And it's gone to the next level in my personal life, and I call it, call it mindful meditation. So for the first kilometer, I'll say one mantra, and I call these affirmations my mantras. For the second, for the second kilometer, I might actually take up an affirmation on my relationships with my family. My relationships with my family are getting better and better day by day in every way. My My relationships with my family are getting better and better day by day in every way. By chanting this second mantra, I know that I'm working on bettering my relationships. By chanting on the first mantra, I know I'm working on my body to become stronger. Then I might take a third mantra on, say, money manifestation. And I— if I have a goal of achieving a certain money goal towards the end of the month, then I might want to take that up. If I want to get some business, I might want to talk about that. And I say that again and again. And this again and again, like I said earlier, is called autosuggestion. What it does, it is reprograms your mind. It sinks— the thing that you want to achieve sinks into your subconscious mind. Now here are two advantages. By doing walking meditation. While you're walking, your physical body is getting fit continuously. You know that, you get that. You're losing weight, your diabetes is under control, your body is getting fit while you're walking. But the bigger advantage by walking mindful meditation, walking mindfully, is going to improve the quality of your mind, the quality of your thoughts. And when the quality of your mind and the quality of your thoughts improve, automatically you're going to start attracting good health. So I have moved my focus completely from the word weight loss, and I have started focusing completely on attracting good health because I believe that there is abundance of health. And especially when you walk out into a park or an open area, you can look up at the sky sky and you can experience the abundance in the trees and the stars or the sun or whatever is there at that time. And when you look at that and experience the abundance, and if abundance— and if you focus on the right affirmations and the right thought processes, you're meditating and getting your body fit. And this is something that I have started recently. I've got some great benefits. And some of the benefits that I've had is I get to walk with myself, I get time to myself in my busy schedule. Number 2 is I get time to reprogram my body and to rewire my mind again and again. And by doing these things, I've got these beautiful advantages, and therefore when I come back home, my productivity goes up. I can manage my time better, and I get great results, and I get a lot of things done in just 4 to 6 hours of work, and I really need not put in 14-16 hours of work as I was doing earlier. So whether you're a homemaker, whether you're a working professional, it doesn't matter what time of the day you do it. You can be a homemaker, and if you're busy at work, at home in the morning hours, after everybody goes, you can actually walk up and down your hallway and do this. If you're a working professional, You can take a break in your lunch break, you know, just get off your desk, just walk up and down 10 times, down and up the hallway, and practice this. And by practicing mindful meditation, not only will your body become fit, but also your mind become— mind will become fit. And that's what I call mind-body fitness.
