Pediatrician Dr Vijoo manages stress and has a Work-Life Balance | DFC Quantum Ep03

In this interview, host Speaker A talks with Dr. Vijay Antoprabhu, a pediatrician from Siviliputhur, Tamil Nadu, about his three‑year journey with the DFC Quantum program. Dr. Vijay joined DFC in 2020 and entered the first Quantum cohort in early 2022. Before Quantum he struggled with weight management, family communication, staff conflicts, and a looming sense of burnout while running a multi‑specialty family hospital and caring for two young children. He describes how the Quantum curriculum—through one‑to‑one coaching, gratitude practices, meditation, and mindset work—shifted his perspective from control and blame to appreciation and collaborative leadership. This transformation led to improved staff relations, better family dynamics, increased OPD numbers, and a renewed sense of purpose in serving children’s health. He concludes with a concise message to new mothers and doctors: stay positive, maintain physical and mental fitness, and balance professional duties with family care. The host reinforces the broader lesson that doctors should attend to health, wealth, and relationships, not just workouts, and invites viewers to join the Quantum program.

And when he joined Quantum, how his life got transformed. And he's just not a one-time Quantum member, this is his third year of Quantum, and how life was before Quantum and how life was after Quantum. And if you stay with me right till the end, as a pediatrician, for all the moms that are there here in the room and watching this video, he's going to give that one powerful tip that is going to help you. So welcome, Vijay, thank you so much for being on this channel, and especially doctors They're very close to my heart, and especially you, Vijay. Thank you so much for being here. And tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from?
Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you for this very opportunity to share my learnings and my— what I have achieved in these 3 years in the Quantum. And yeah, so just a little things about myself. I'm a pediatrician. I'm Dr. Vijay Antoprabhu. And I am from— I'm heading from Tamil Nadu, from a town called Siviliputhur. So that's close by Madurai, if someone haven't heard about it. And I'm a pediatrician practicing here for the last 5 years, but my career started since 2004. That's from when I started my MBBS, and then I chose MD Pediatrics, and which I did in Pondicherry, and now Later I worked in Bangalore for quite 6 years in some corporate hospitals, and from last 5 years I have been here. We are working as a team of, uh, like family. We are as a team of doctors. We are running our own multi-specialty hospital back in Siliguri, and, uh, yes, it's going great.
So what— how was life before you joined First one was, when did you join DFC?
I joined DFC in 2020, July.
Wow.
Yeah.
And so you were the first batch of Quantum, 2022, April, March, April.
Yes, yes, exactly. In the end, I joined in the month of March. That's when we had started the Quantum. So we were the first batch. We are fortunate to be the first batch of Quantum and Being in your proximity, and what more we could have asked for.
So as a member of the DFC, you would have already got a lot of results coming to the community with the live workouts. So Vijay, tell us, why did you come to Quantum?
So before I joined Quantum, that is been in the— since I joined DFC, I had had a lot of good results, meaning when it comes to my weight and when it comes to my, um, comes to my, uh, balance— I mean diet control, the portion control, which is the most vital point which I had learned after I, after I joined DFC. So all has been going well, but something has been missing, that is that, uh, I have been working as a pediatrician and I am also, uh, being a part of the family. It's a joint family. And, uh, we have been having a lot of concerns like, uh, the interpersonal relationship within the members of the family, which has been, uh, really sore, I would say. Like, we didn't have to have much of conversation at all. It's like a hi-bye thing is what's happening, and which I felt is not actually good for, uh, to running a hospital and as well as balancing with the family. And it won't be good, and our parents were also not fully happy with how things are rolling out in the last few years. So I felt that something is missing. And then I started doing the meditations which had been rolled out in the Diamond Membership which we had before I joined Quantum. And those had been working wonders. But still something was missing. Because what I felt is, okay, everything is going on, everything is going well. Okay, my I am having some internal peace. But one second. Yes. But what is missing is like the connect. And what I felt is maybe I am not 100% the one what I have to be. And I need something more. And that has been there, that has been there almost for like Even after doing all these meditations and everything, still I feel like I have something incomplete in me. And what I mean, I had no clue about it. Okay, something is missing. I want to do something about this. Everything was going haywire on one side, the hospital, a lot of the staffs that we had, sometimes we felt like we are understaffed, and sometimes the staffs have been having some communication issues with us, and there are a lot of internal politics or issues going on. Which I was not able to handle. As such, I have no clue about what's happening around. And we— I mean, the hospital, because I was not the administrator, and I was just— I just came, I just started working, and I wanted to learn things. But everything started overwhelming, like I have to learn something from the hospital, then I have to take care of the family, and I have two cute kids who are now 3 years old. So taking care of them, and I got confused, I got I would say I didn't go into depression, but almost at the verge of going to depression. I just feeling keeping everything within myself. So I just wanted unlock something, to unlock the door so that I can just go out and do everything. So that is when the Quantum came into my life. Okay, so Quantum came just, I would say, yeah, it was a bit late because I was not talking much about things to people. So But it came just on time. Okay, fine, I think I should give a try. I just got a— I just had spoken with Hiral, I just— I spoken with Simi, and of course with Dinas as well, and I got a clearance, okay, what this is really about. So I just jumped in. Why not give it a shot? Because we have nothing to lose, and we have one life which we have to live, and this is giving me the opportunity to live that the best way. So that's when I started.
How did the journey transform you in different ways? Because each person's results are different. Some people don't do many tasks I give, some people are in the proximity of the group. How has it helped you? And what has helped you?
So as you said, it is helpful for different ways in different— for different people in different ways. So for me, weight was not an issue when I joined the Quantum. For me, my main concern was about how to balance out everything and how to be able to handle everything in a better way and not being like, not being short-tempered and not being too sensitive about the issues and not taking— because what was happening earlier was like, I used to take everything for granted. Like the people who are around me, because we have— I mean, when I come— okay, let me start with the hospital first. That is where things were. I mean, I felt things had to change in my perspective and within me, because everybody were working their best. We had the hospital and we have a good number of staffs. And we have my brothers who are doctors, my sister-in-law, my wife, and my auntie who are all like group of doctors, we are practicing in the hospital and everything was going good. But what, what I, what I, what the thing I had was like, okay, these people are working for me. And I have control over them. That is what I had a feeling when I started.
Your staff?
Yeah. Yes, our staff. Yeah, our staff. So I have control over them.
And I, yeah, and I recall that we had a talk in our one-to-one call about something.
Exactly. So everything had been there right from the beginning of the Quantum, which I didn't realize initially. Even during my first year of Quantum, I was more in favor of like, okay, let me take care of my weight first. Let me take care of my, yeah, my personal, my family, and then I'll go into the hospital. And I had been running that way. But as every one-to-one call which I had with Dinas and of course, which I had with you, that has been happening. Every single thing got unlocked, like things get— self-realization happened for me. So the initial few one-to-one calls, I was more keen about my personal, my family and how to mend with my family and all that. Then I was still the same in the hospital. When it comes to the hospital, I was still the same person. So When it comes to my staff, they were— I mean, I always thought, I always kept blaming them for things not happening around me.
Yeah.
And yeah, so that way I was really like, okay, because I am the— I am taking the control. And I am still keeping on blaming and things were not working. And we got started getting some negative reviews from the patients and everything kept happening. Which has been bothering me a lot. So when I came to Dheenas about this, and when I spoken to her about it, actually speaking in the initial few one-to-one calls, you will be knowing because I was not that expressive. And everything has been like, yeah, so it was just going on like that. But as days progressed, I really felt the change in me. That is the first thing which I realized after entering the Quantum. The thing, the change what I got is The first thing what I realized, really realized is one thing is I should be, I mean, I should have gratitude towards every single thing, every single person around me. And it is not only thing about myself, because what I realized is when I started showing gratitude, and I just say thanks to the person who's like, if I am talking to about my staff, So if they are doing something, I should at least appreciate them for that. And that is a very small thing, of course. But it made a very big impact. Like I even started noticing that even from the second, my second year of quantum. Good.
Very nice.
That, yes. So I started appreciating every single thing they do. And one thing is I, I still kept blaming them or sometimes I even scold them for things they have not done. And I never appreciated. So that thing got a major change when it came to the Quantum, and that really set things good when it comes to the hospital. So then the next few months, it went really good. I would say like next 3 to 4 months of really okay, fine. I was feeling happy about them. And I kept doing all that. But suddenly one setback in between happened, like what I would say, like, again, I started going back to my old phase of, okay, to criticizing. So what I missed is, okay, I should, I should be like, engaging myself, my family and everyone into it. It's not like a one-man approach.
Yeah.
Okay, because I have been trying to do everything all by myself. Yeah, and that is the realization which I had next, and which is really not plausible when it comes to a multi-specialty hospital business. So then what happened is, again, after a few one-to-one calls which I had with Dheenaz, and I got a realization that, okay, what I like, I, I should have a good conversation with my family members. And work in, work in hand, like joining hands and working together with them so that it will be easy to build up the hospital business.
So were you able—
that way, our communication—
were you able to do that?
Yes, yes, I am doing— I have done that. I am still doing it. It is still— it's on a slow progressing stage, and definitely I have got a lot of breakthroughs and lot of realizations. And I would say I have changed a lot after this second breakthrough, what I had felt. I would say like, for each and everything, my mind says, see, they are doing great, whatever they are doing, they are doing really great. And I should be thankful to them. And that way, that very moment becomes like something which I always wanted for. Okay. And after that, my work keeps going on good.
Fantastic.
Because I used to worry about the numbers. Thank you, Lee. Because I used to worry about the numbers, the numbers in my OPD a lot. Uh, a great thanks to you. And, uh, One more.
Have the numbers in your— gone up?
Yes, definitely, definitely.
So by a total change in your— in the way you're handling your staff, the way you're working, uh, balancing your life with your family and your place of work, now actually taking ownership of the family business and staying in a state of gratitude, not only your numbers have gone up, but you're also being able to do God's work, which is helping the children in your hospital get treated in a better way. So Vijay, I really and truly want you, as we close this interview, I want you to give one strong message which all the viewers have been waiting for, as a pediatrician, to all the moms, to all the new moms.
Okay, to all the new moms. Okay, great.
One, one, one line, no more than one line.
So to all the new moms out there, and even to the pediatricians or the doctors who are out there.
Yes, yes.
So I would say it's just not the— I mean, I would say life is not just about the profession, what we are managing. And it's more about It's a collective effort of taking care of your profession as well as your family and balancing it the way. And that is how you can give the best for you. So for all the moms out there, being it a whole, like a homemaker or the mom, whoever is at home, you people are doing a great job. So because I, we, I have my wife and my mom who have been taking care of us. And just stay positive in whatever you're doing. And just keep going. And one thing is, stay fit in all the aspects of your life, being it physically or being it mentally. And keep moving. And I would recommend, I would definitely recommend people to look after yourself and to look into yourself more. And work on that. And that's my only point I want to tell.
Thank you so much, Vijay. And for those of you who are doctors watching this video, I want all of you to know that as medical doctors, you need to look after your health and allow health professionals to look after you, fitness professionals to look after your health. And Vijay, after coming to DFC and to Quantum, not only helped his own body get transformed, but he also worked on his own OPD and this family business and taking ownership of this family business. So deep gratitude to you, Vijay, for sharing, coming out in the open and sharing your story as a medical doctor. And those of you who are part of the DFC community especially, don't get stuck only with your workouts. Focus on all areas of your life— health, wealth, and prosperity— and, and your relationships. And if you're a medical doctor and you're part of the DFC community, There is so much more that quantum has to offer. Hold on, someday you too will get a chance. And if you are not part of the community, click on the link in the registration in the description box. And I can't wait to see you in the masterclass. And I can't wait to guide you and mentor you. Thank you. Thank you.
And just one thing, can I ask you?
Yes, yes, sure.
Yeah, thank you. So to everyone out here, I never used to be such a person who feels free to talk to another person on a on an interview or anything. I'm really a shy person. Yes. And that thing has changed after coming into the DFC. And of course, Quantum has made a very big change in me. So thank you and gratitude.
Thank you. Take care. All the very best.
Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you.
