A guide to shoulder and rotator-cuff exercises you can do at home with light dumbbells or no weight. Start with feet shoulder-width apart, core tight, then do slow arm lifts to shoulder height and rotator-cuff rotations with elbows bent. Use 1 to 1.5 pounds max and focus on control, not momentum.

Stand with your legs shoulder width apart, shoulders are pulled back, chin is lifted. Now lift one arm up and lower. Lift the other arm up, working on your shoulders, but when you do that, make sure that you're not swinging. And lower. And you lift up only up to your shoulder level. You lift up and you lower. Control. Keep those abs held in tight. And come back. Working on your rotator cuff, hold both your dumbbells, feet are shoulder width apart. Bend at the elbow and hold it there. Please don't tilt backwards, abdominals held in really tight. Now I just want you to rotate that shoulder and lift up. Try not to round your back as you do so. You can do this exercise without your dumbbells, or you can just take very light weights like 1 or 1.5 and no more than that. And come back.
