Dr. Don Wood (founder of the Inspire Performance Institute) presents Day 6 of the "12 Days of Heart" series, a short YouTube coaching clip about using understanding to reduce holiday anxiety. Using the "six geese a-laying" image from the "12 Days of Christmas," he encourages viewers to reinterpret imperfect or unexpected gifts with empathy—seeing others as products of their life conditions—so anxiety "slips away." He frames understanding as a form of personal rebirth and offers brief practical cues (breathing, optimism, meditation) and a friendly closing.
You.
Welcome to the 12 Days of Heart. And heart stands for holiday anxiety reduction tips. I'm Dr. Don Wood. I'm the founder of the Inspire Performance Institute and your guide through these series of anxiety reduction tips. We're now on day six. So day six, we're going to get into the holiday spirit again. That's our theme, using the 12 Days of Christmas as our theme.
Hats.
My hat back on. Let's get Alexa involved. Alexa, play some holiday music.
Here's a station you might like. Holiday favorites on Amazon. Holiday favorites.
Oh, I love this song.
Anyway, you can listen to that while we start doing some research. On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me.
Six geese. Elaine, see how calm you are now about birds? Right? We've calmed down, right? We're using different things. You can laugh about it. You can just breathe. You can be hopeful. You can practice optimism now you can meditate. Right. Feel the anxiety just slip away. Just keep using all these tips, right? They're gonna really help. So what are we gonna do for day six? Let me just see. So we got six geese a laying. We've gotten birds pretty much every day, right? For every gift.
Let'S apply some understanding. Understanding that your true love has just given you six days of gift with every bird you can imagine. Why? Right. Well, so if the gifts that you get or don't get fail to meet your expectations. Right. If we apply understanding. Right. Understanding that the true love has not maybe given you exactly what you want, but they were doing their best. Right? At least they're thinking about you. They brought you six different kinds of birds, Right? So maybe it's just they love birds, right? Maybe they're trying to get you to appreciate the love of birds. Who knows what it is? There's a symbolism obviously involved in all the birds, too, but. And I'm being a little facetious, but the idea is, when you apply understanding that people couldn't be any different than they are. People are a product of their own, what we call atmospheric conditions. The way their life has been formed, the way their mind filters through their experiences to create thoughts. So if the thought was to get you six days of birds. Thank you very much. Right. That understanding will change your life. And when you start applying understanding. Understanding is the key in any relationship, right? Nobody's perfect. We don't all get it right. Don't all get it wrong either. So use understanding. Practice it. Think about it. And if we look at when you research geese laying eggs, it's a symbolism about life and rebirth. So this is a great tip. I love this tip. Understanding is a rebirth. If you start applying understanding in your life, it's like you're born again. You really are, because you're going to just go with the flow. Anxiety is just going to slip away. And we just understand that the people that are doing the things or loving us, they just couldn't be any different than the way they are. And that's okay. And it's okay for them. Right? And it's okay for you to be okay. So keep looking for more of these tips in your inbox. And there it is.
