My name is Kirk Sherwood. I was 18 years old when I first went to the hospital feeling like I was having a heart attack.
At the age of about 20, I was in Toronto, had a major incident in an elevator, ended up going to the emergency. And from that point at that.
That doctor, I was diagnosed with panic disorder. From that point, I went from having a panic attack once in two years to having about 10 or 20 a day over the course of probably 12 years. Definitely incurred about $100,000 in medical bills for anxiety related issues. Two and a half years ago, Don talked to me, told me about this program. I decided to do the program. I can't say I felt differently when I did the program. It wasn't like an instant thing for. I talked to Don about it and he said, you know, I think you just, you know, like, we need to, we need to do another session. We need to make that session focus on strength.
We did a session. I chose a symbol which to me represented something that was very strong.
Probably like the next day or next day or two. I did feel that same way. I did feel like I was gonna die, but I was just thinking about my symbol. And as I thought about that symbol more and more, maybe because I was focused on the fact that I thought I was dying, I was no longer having the panic disorder. When I got to the. Over a very short period of time where I felt like I wasn't dying anymore, I kind of one day realized that I also wasn't having panic attacks. I can honestly say that, like, I have so few panic attacks anymore that when I do have them most times I don't even remember that I have a symbol to think of because they're so few and far between, they catch me so off guard. I think that anybody who suffers from anxiety, I've been. I've tried acupuncture, I've tried psychiatrists, I went to seminars. I've been on every possible medication possible. Prozac, Zoloft, I've been on everything. I never used to be able to leave my house without having a bottle of 30 Xanax in my pocket. I never took them, but they were my comfort pill. I had to have them with me. If I didn't have them with me, I'd have a panic attack. And unlike most people, the only medication that really was available to treat panic disorder was antidepressant medication. And I would have the opposite effect to it. So I become super depressed at the age of 36. I went to my doctor and I said, you know, I don't want the side effects of any of this medication anymore. I'd rather deal with my panic attacks and feel like I live like a zombie. I've not had that feeling in two and a half years. I don't feel like I need a pill in my pocket. I don't even think about pills. I don't ask my doctor for pills anymore.
It's just not something that I think about. It's something that if you truly want to have a change in your life, this is a program for you.
Sam.
