I was adopted from birth, always knew I was adopted. So we didn't really know my family history. We didn't know if this was a genetic problem. So my wife basically said, this must be coming from your side of the family. It must be your fault. You need to figure this out or we're going to lose our daughter. So that's when I went back and started studying. I went back to get my PhD. I decided I needed to do research. PhD. That's how I came up with the reason to start the Inspired Performance Institute. What I discovered and what we didn't really know a lot about was how trauma affects not only performance but health, mental health and physical health. And my daughter had experienced trauma when she was 6. So where the connection came in is as I started to do the research, I was talking to a lot of people who had experienced trauma and were having similar autoimmune disorders and mental health issues and a lot of different connections.
