I see this a lot that you know, and I often talk to people who are speakers, you know, speaking at a conference, saying, look, you need to be aware of the fact that you can work as much as you want to work on how you're going to communicate. But part of the way that any audience, whether that's one person or a thousand people, part of the way in which they respond to you is going to be related to what you do. But another part of it is based on everything that's happened in their life up until this moment. And so there can be reactions you get that you completely, you can't expect, and they are not remotely going in the direction that you imagined because you say one thing or you refer to one word or phrase or metaphor, or you mention the word elephant and then suddenly a story's happening in the person's head that has nothing to do with your words, actions and behaviors. And you just need to be mindful for sort of looking out for those moments because it has to be that sort of two way street.
