This short YouTube talk (by Anne Truong MD) gives practical coaching advice on weight loss and emotional awareness. The speaker emphasizes that weight loss is simple but requires time—matching the time taken to gain weight—and recommends using a gym-derived framework (level 1/2/3 workouts) as a way to gauge how much to push oneself and to get in touch with emotions when starting a behavior change.

One of the things I always tell my clients to. If I have somebody that's coming to me and saying, it's so hard to lose weight, I tell them, listen, it's not hard. It's actually really simple. It just takes time. It just takes time. If you forget about having to lose £20 in the next 30 days or even six months, if you can take off £20 in, like, the next two years because you didn't put it on in two years or you didn't put it on in 60 days, take it off the same amount of time. But with regards to getting in touch with your emotions, what really worked for me is, again, taking a principle from inside the gym. I always tell my clients, I ask them before we start off, what level workout do you want to have today? Do you want to have a level one, level two, or level three? So I know how much to push them. Level one is. They're like, kate, I need to take it nice and easy today. For whatever reason. They're like, you know what? I'm feeling pretty good. We'll go with two, but we won't go crazy. And if they're like, you know what, Carl? I need a good one today. Let's do a level three. I'm like, okay, now I know how much to push you.
