Device that Measures the Firmness of Erection!

This YouTube interview (hosted by Dr. Ann Truong) features Dr. Elliot Justin (founder of FirmTech) describing the FirmTech ‘tech ring’, a wearable/cock ring that measures nocturnal and sexual erections to generate an 'erectile fitness' score (1–10). They argue erectile "fitness" precedes dysfunction, nocturnal erections (ideally 3–5/night) are a leading indicator of cardiovascular and penile health, and objective personal data can guide diagnosis and treatment (medication effects, testosterone dosing, lifestyle). Dr. Justin also discusses a non-electronic 'maximum performance' ring to retain penile blood (claimed to increase ejaculatory phase ~50%), plans for a female device, and the role of clinicians to incorporate sexual health as a vital sign. Practical recommendations include getting blood work before using ED pills and using the ring to monitor effects of meds, alcohol, drugs, and testosterone dosing.
Questions this video answers

Hello there, modern man. I am so excited today's episode, I am talking with Dr. Elliot Justin. He is the founder of FirmTech. This new device that you see me hold right now, we're going to discuss about what the heck that is. All right, so let's get dive into it. Let's talk about erectile dysfunction. And now the new device that we have now to really measure how good your erection is. This is one of a kind device and I'll just let Dr. Justin kind of dive into Ed and his perception of that and how firm tech is helpful for men suffering with ed.
Well, let's not even call it dysfunction. Let's talk about fitness. Because before there's dysfunction, there's fitness. All men are on a path to develop dysfunction. But we'd like to stop where we are on that path and if we do have ed, we'd like to reverse it. But if we don't have ED or starting to get ed, we'd like to maintain our fitness. And the only way to maintain your fitness is to get data and to have sex. So you can't go to the gym and significantly improve your erectile firmness because it involves smooth muscle as opposed to skeletal muscle. And you have to work that muscle by having sex or penis pumping.
Expand the penile muscles as well too. Like you said, sex or masturbation or penis pumping as long as you're getting blood flow to the penis muscles.
That's right. So Our goal at FirmTech is to provide people with two things. One is objective, actionable personal data about the sexual health. So one, overnight we count the number of nocturnal erections that are leading indicator of man's cardiovascular health. A leading indicator is really, really powerful in medicine. Dr. Wrong, as you know, because treat associations. High blood pressure is associated with heart attack and stroke, but it's not a leading indicator. Leading indicator means predictive. So if a man's nocturnal erection go down, that man in two to three years is going to have a heart attack or a stroke. So following this data is just as important as knowing you're getting following your electrocardiogram or your liver proteins. The other thing we want to do is provide people with an improved form for the cock ring. Cock rings in my throat pain need to be mainstreamed because they should be regarded by men as crutches. They should be regarded by men as enhancers of their sexual performance.
Let's kind of backtrack a little bit and I kind of want to clarify a couple of things. So nocturnal erection is morning wood or Nighttime wood. Okay. Nocturnal erection. And I kind of want to backtrack a little bit. How does having morning erection or nocturnal erection. It's an indicator of a man erection fitness.
Well, it's more than just morning wood, because a healthy man should be having three to five nocturnal erections per night.
Yes.
Unless you measure it, you don't know whether you're having them. So having morning wood is not enough. You need to be able to measure them overnight while you're sleeping.
Right. When I say morning wood, most men think of morning wood, but most men actually don't realize that they have three to five erections a night, sometimes lasting from five to even 30 minutes. So having said that, how does having erection at nighttime or morning or throughout the night, how is that an indicator of his erection fitness? What does that tell him about his erection?
Well, there are three components to having erection. One is you have to have nerves, you have to have muscle, and you have to have blood flow, the blood flow being the most important one. So if a man has less blood flow because they have diabetes, high blood pressure, or atherosclerosis, or they're taking medications that decrease their blood flow with antihypertensives and antidepressants being the big cock killers, they will have less nocturnal erections and not be getting the blood to their penis at night that they need in order to maintain the health of their penis.
Okay. So if they're not getting the nighttime erection throughout the night or in the morning, then that's an indicator, somewhat a barometer, that they're not getting enough blood flow. But a man is asleep. How does he know he gets erection? Sometimes they're like, I don't know if I have an erection or not. I'm dead asleep. And oftentimes they get erection because they're in deep sleep. So when they're in deep sleep, they're more relaxed, they get erection. So how does he know? Is there a way?
Now, we invented a device called the tech ring. We live in this incredible age of healthcare wearables. Men can learn all sorts.
This is what it looks like.
Yeah. There are smart watches, smart rings. What do men care more about? How many steps it took yesterday or the status of their erections? That's a rhetorical question. So the tech ring that you're holding, your hand, there is a device that can be worn comfortably overnight to count the number in our truck.
So this is the charger. I'm going to demonstrate to you what Dr. Justin is talking about here. So this is a charger, and I had confessed with him that I had trouble putting this on. So if I have trouble putting this on and you have trouble putting this on, it's okay. You're like, me too. Okay, so you wrap around right here around the scrotum, and then you put the curved thing on top, and then it's slipped on where you see like a little C shape.
That's correct. It goes through the hook. So it's easy on. Easy off is actually inspired by the bra. So cock rings for a long time. They're these hard silicone rings. They're uncomfortable, and they can only be worn for 20, 30 minutes because they cut off the blood flow. Our tech ring is designed to allow the arterial blood flow in to get an erection and. And only constrain the venous return.
Right. I don't want to mess our listener thinking. This is the cock ring. So that's the next device we're going to talk about. So this is the Firm Tech nighttime erection monitor device right here. So this device, is it called the Firm Tech ring?
It's called the tech ring. And by the way, it is also a cock ring.
Oh, it's also a cock ring.
It can be worn not just overnight. It can be worn during sex as well. So it'll give people data about what's happening while they're having sex. It'll tell them how hard they get and how long they last. And with that data, men and their healthcare providers can then measure the impact of diseases, medications, diet, exercise, supplements upon their sexual performance. It can be tightened, it can be loosened. It's an adjustable cock ring as well as an underwearable data device.
How do you tighten it? You wrap it around one more time?
No. Well, diabetics tend to do that because they need more support. But just. You just slide through the loop. You can tighten it up and you can loosen it by sliding it through the hook. See? So.
Oh, with the puckering right here, you can tighten it around right here.
So what I do when I use it for sex is I tightened up around the shaft, and then when I want to sleep more comfortably, I just loosen it up around the shaft.
Oh, I see. So you loosen it up right here. So you want to sleep with it. So this ring measures how many times you have an erection and how firm is the erection, Is that correct?
That's correct.
Okay, so it tells you how many times how firm it is. And you can wear this while you're having sex. So it tells you how firm your erection is also.
That's correct. So doctors and Men are using it to say, what's the impact of blood pressure medication? Or if I'm taking an antidepressant, what's the impact if I'm taking medication for benign prostatic hypertrophy? Those medications can also interfere with sexual performance. You can also see the impact of alcohol, recreational drugs, or frankly, relationships. People can actually, if they have more than one partner, can actually say, can.
You wear this the whole day?
You can wear it the whole day, but the only guys I know doing that are gay guys.
Oh really? But there's no harm in wearing it the whole day?
No, the battery will last 10 to 12 hours and there's no harm in wearing it all day. But if it gets sweaty, you want to clean it afterwards, but you advise.
Wearing it at nighttime and when you're.
Having sex, when you want data, or when you want to find out what's impacting your performance.
I love this. This has never been available before until now with Dr. Justin Fermtech. I love this because I love data. So guys, if you want to know how many times you have erection at night or if you get hard all of a sudden you lose it, put this on. It will tell you, hey, you're losing it. And then like Dr. Justin said, is it the blood pressure medicine you're taking? Is it the medicine you take for your enlarged prostate? Is it an antidepressant? Now let's go over to the next medicine that we know a lot of guys with ED take, which are Viagra and Cialis and how that is not good for erection. And what have you noticed that men wearing that affect their data.
We actually have a paper that's going to be published in the fall showing that our well designed ring comfortable ring is more effective than a PD5 medication like Viagra or Cialis.
So the ring you're referring to is not this one.
The other product we make is called a maximum performance ring. So that's a ring without technology. That ring was designed to produce a harder, longer lasting erection. Men, but most importantly, a more intense orgasm. Basically, I group ED into two categories. One, there are men who can't attain an erection. If you can't attain an erection, you see a specialist because you have a significant problem. But most men have difficulty sustaining erection. They get an erection and then they lose it. And that could be due to diseases, medications, but more commonly anxiety or distraction, alcohol. So if a man can attain erection, the PD5 medications are not particularly effective. Why? Because those men PD5 medications put blood into the penis, but they're not Designed to keep it there.
PDE5 medication is the same thing as Viagra and Cialis, guys. Okay, so that's the group that they're in. I just want to kind of clarify as you're talking so they can follow you along.
So those medications put blood in, but they don't keep it there. Which most problems keep in the blood there. With venous leak, if you get an erection, you lose it. Everything leads to venous leak, and that could be due to anxiety, distraction, medications, or just age. We all get venous leak as we get older. I'm 71 years old, 14 years old. I could hold someone's hand and that could be hard for an hour. It doesn't happen at my age. And, you know, I've been married 36 years, and I get erections, but I will lose them in a few minutes. So a PD5 medication doesn't keep me any harder. What I need is something that's going to constrain my aging veins and hold the blood in. This is the maximum performance ring. It's a sleeker version of the ring.
You have that will only go around the penis area, the shaft area.
It dropped the balls in, wraps around, goes on the same way, but it's tight. So this ring was designed and tested on men to increase their ejaculatory phase by 50%. My ejaculatory phase goes from 4 seconds to 7 seconds, and that's a more powerful orgasm. I don't technically have ed. I have sex five, six times a week. But I don't have sex without this ring or the tech ring because it's better. I don't need it. I want it. One of the jokes we have at medical conventions is, how do you tell the difference between a gay doctor and a straight doctor? You asked one question. Do you use a cock ring? Gay doctor last night. You got a better one? Straight doctor. Oh, I don't need that. It's like Superman kryptonite. What they don't get, the straight guys don't get. Is that beyond rock hard, just cock ring hard. Nothing will get you harder than a cock ring. The harder you are, the more intense the orgasm will be. And this is the only ring designed by doctors and tested on men designed to increase the ejacatory phase comfortably. It's not a chokehold on your penis. It allows the arterial flow in, so there's no risk with it. It'll keep me odd, 30 to 45 minutes.
So you wear this. You take it out, and you put that one. The cock ring. In well, what's the name of that cock ring again?
The maximum performance ramp.
Okay, so I wanted to clarify. So you wear the fern tech only to measure your erection, but if you want to wear the maximum performance cock ring, you take it out and you put it around the same spot again.
We want to make it easy on, easy off for men, so it's safe. It opens and closes the hook. It's not uncomfortable at conventional cock rings and it'll lead to a significantly improved performance.
Totally makes sense. It allow blood to come in. When blood comes in from your heart to your penis, it goes through the arteries. The arteries are the blood vessels that bring blood from the heart to the penis. And then the veins bring the blood from the penis back to the heart. So by using the maximum performance cock ring, it keep the blood in the penis to allow you to stay firmer and harder. And on top of that, the second benefit also is that it will prolong your ejaculation duration and therefore more intense orgasm.
That's right.
So it's really two benefits. It help you stay hard and then second of all, it help you have better orgasm and ejaculation. If you take Viagra or Cialis, it doesn't help with that if you have been asleep. And if you have venous leak, which is the really the most common presentation of ED is venous leak. What Dr. Justin was saying before, if you're having a problem just getting an erection period, that means you may have problem in the artery component of the blood going into the penis. So you have to look at your circulation status at that point. So that's when you really need to see the doctor because that's when you probably need to have a penile Doppler ultrasound and to assess the pressure in the arteries and the vein, which is something I do to really delineate whether the problem is arteries or vein. And most of the time I see both, but I see more vein issue which is easier to fix. Is it more artery then? It depends on how bad it is. Depends on whether doing stem cell hormones or not may help. Or just the Roto Rooter job, which is opening up the blockage in the artery, which you and I are very familiar with those types type of surgery. So I'm so glad that we touch upon why taking Viagra and Cialis PD medicine sometimes doesn't work. Because if you haven't been asleep, it does not work. And if it does work, it's only for a couple years and then where will you end up?
A couple points in response to that one, if you go back to the original Viagra versus placebo data, Viagra was only 20% more effectful in placebo. That's not a dramatic effect. And I probably like you. I have mentally, my prescribed Viagra and Cialis would tell me it works just if it's in their wallet or on the night table. This is a confidence builder for many men, and the placebo effect is powerful. I don't want to take away someone's placebo effect. What one is about our device that makes it objective. I don't think it could be done with our device. People can actually say, Jay, is 20 milligrams of tadalafil really better for me than 10 milligrams or even 5 milligrams? Because you can actually measure that dose. I've played around with a lot of medications with this device out of curiosity, and I know for myself that Tadalafil has no impact whatsoever. And I'm 71 years old. It has no impact. It doesn't make a difference whether I take it or don't take it. But I think there are a lot of men out there who think placebo effect. But in terms of overall cardiac health and the importance of nocturnal erections, we've had two men tell me that they end up with a cardiac catheterization because the number of nocturnals went down dramatically. They went from one guy went from three to one. The other guy went from five to two, and they told us two a week. One guy ends up with a stent. I don't know what happened, what happened with the other guy, but the data can be really, really profoundly valuable to people. At the other extreme, the youngest person I know who was helped with one, who's 26 years old, he and his wife were trying to have a baby. They just moved. They had a new job. They're attributing their issues in the bedroom to all these stresses. And his wife had heard about us, and she bought him a ring he didn't want to put on, hey, I'm 26 years old, I'm fit, blah, blah, blah. He actually had an adrenal problem. And you wouldn't have known it wouldn't have picked up eventually, but it was discovered relatively early, and they now have a baby.
Awesome. Well, that's the whole point where I've always been stressing to the guys, if you find out you have ed go get blood work. It's that easy. In some lab, you can just walk in and get blood work. You don't even need a doctor prescription if you don't have insurance. Blood work is not as expensive as you think. Maybe 100, a couple hundred, depending what blood work you get. I do more extensive blood work because I want to look at inflammatory factors treating the patient. But the essential blood work you want to get, make sure your red blood cell count is okay, like a CBC, your liver, your kidney. That's called chemistry panel, chemistry 10. And then check out your testosterone level, your total and your free testosterone. And those are really probably the basic. Make sure your kidneys, your liver is working okay, your red blood cell count working okay. Your cholesterol, you need to get your. Check your cholesterol as well. So the cholesterol is called the lipid panel. Those I call were more the essential blood work because my thing has always been most mentioned. They have ed, they Google, they go on the Internet. Next thing they know, they're taking Viagra. No blood work, no work, no doctor put up to get a Viagra. I think they have like a five minute virtual visit or something like that. Less than that, right? Yeah, less than that. But you got to get your blood pressure measurement. Very, very often I would see men that would ed. And when we do blood work, they have new onset, they have diabetes. They don't even know they have diabetes. The hemoglobin A1C is like 10. They don't know they have diabetes. Their cholesterol is like 300, and they're anemic. So there's a lot of factors. There's one guy that I saw that was, he's in his 50s, never had blood work done, and blood work came up, everything was bold and black. Meanings are abnormal. He's anemic, he had liver problems, he has high cholesterol, and he's also low testosterone as well. Everything that I named was abnormal. So right now, in 2024, you can easily get blood work. And if you find out that you do have any of those issues, go see a doctor, and that can be easily corrected instead of popping your ED pills, not knowing what's really going on inside of you. And that's what I've been really passionate about, Elliot. It's just really. Guys, go do blood work. I know. I'm married to a guy, too, and I literally have to push him to go to the lab with me to get his blood work done twice a year for his testosterone and his cholesterol. And if I don't make him, he won't go. What is it about guys that don't do Proactive care as much as women. What is that? Is that a macho thing?
It's male pride and male denial.
You think so?
Yeah.
What? Denial of what? What are you denial of?
At least the one with a problem.
You don't want to know if you have a problem.
Also, we don't trust doctors. Women trust doctors more than men do. And that can be dangerous as well, too, because a lot of what doctors do isn't necessarily right. I'll just focus on sex. We don't take sexual histories. If I go to my internist, to my cardiologist, there's no chance that they're going to ask me about my sex life, my marriage, my sex life and my marriage. They're critically important to my mental health and frankly, to my overall health as well. And yet doctors don't ask about it. Doctors don't warn people about the sexual side effects of medication. Never do. I've never had a doctor warn me. A doctor warned my wife about sexual side effects of medication. We doctors act as if sex is not important. So people, when it comes to sexual problems, people don't go to doctors. They're online. But it actually saddens me how many people contact me directly because of business I'm in and want to talk about something that they should be talking about with their doctors.
I'm with you on that. That's the six vital sign, right?
Yes, six vital sign. And it's money driven. Because if there was a box in electronic health record that said you must, you can't. If you're going to see a patient, you want to check this box, you got to take a sexual history. Because there's a box for chest pain, there's a box for shortness of breath, and there's a box for gastrointestinal complaints. There's no box for sex. It has to be checked. If there was a box, the doctors would ask, ask the question. And that's sad. Very, very sad. Because we know if people have sex regularly five times a week, their cortisol levels go down significantly. That's a stress hormone. If men over the age of 70 have sex twice a week, their cardiac risk goes down significantly as well, too. So we doctors, we make recommendations about diet, exercise, sleep, medication compliance. We don't recommend sex. And we should be recommending sex several times a week.
Absolutely. And men and women, you're listening to this. Your doctor is not telling you to do so. We're telling you to do so. Oftentimes I would see my patient. I said, this is doctor's order. So have sex three times a week. If your partner is not available, masturbate, pump, because you got to bring that blood flow in there. And when you have orgasm, it releases all these POV good chemicals also that will lower your stress level, make you happier as well, help you sleep better, and even lower your blood pressure. So there are multiple benefits of that. And I find that it's very contradiction because good sexual health means good general health, but yet we neglect it. We focus on, oh, let's talk about heart health and so forth. And maybe because there's so many heart medications out there, pharma is pushing these medications to be prescribed.
It's about money. We know that people have sex twice a week, have half the risk of getting divorced. Wow. The simplest preventive treatment and the divorce rates are terrible. And breaking up families is bad for the children. People who get divorced, more likely to be alcoholics. People who get divorced, more likely to have drug problems. People get divorced more likely to have problems at work, they're more likely to have heart disease. There's so many benefits to having sex. And we doctors don't talk about it.
We're not taught about it in med school. My daughter is in med school. And I'm sure they're not taught about it. And then also that the comfort level of the doctor and which specialty owns sexual. Is it the obgyn? Is it a urologist? Is it a cardiologist, a primary care doctor, an ER doctor? I'm a pain management doctor and rehab doctor. And we're in sexual health. So I think all doctors should own that because that's part of the vital sign. The vital sign for listeners is like your temperature, your heart rate, your blood pressure and your respiratory, how fast you breathe. And pain used to be the fifth vital sign. Ask the patient pain level. And then now sexual health.
I don't practice clinical medicine anymore, but my last year of clinical practice, I started to make a point of asking people the sexual history. And I would do it polite. I don't want to intrude your privacy. Your sexual health is also important part of your health. Do you have any issues that I might be able to help you with? Even people came in with like ankle sprains or sore throats. I'm talking about usually older people, people 35 or not kids, they want to talk about it. And if they don't want to talk about it, their spouse wants to talk about it.
Absolutely. And reiterating the numbers, if you're 50 or over 50% of men have ED. If you're 60 or over, 60% of you have ED. And if you're 70 and over 70% have ED. Now, you mentioned you're 71. What is it like having sex of 71 without meds and natural and frequency and all that? Tell us about that.
I would say sex is very, very good. My wife is here in the room. She's like. She's my head of marketing. But the ring has changed our lives. We make love longer, more comfortably because of the ring. Why is that? We're both older. My wife is 70, so. And women have the same problem being like the men do. You get aroused, but you lose arousal. Now, women have vibrators to assist with that. I wouldn't say to assist. I would say to enhance. In my lifetime, vibrators have gone from my mother's bottom dresser drawer, supply closet in a supply room. I don't know how many of my wife owns. Our daughter takes them on dates. Back in the 70s and 80s, there was certain shame associated with vibrators because, oh, they're not natural. Yet women has to come through penetrative sex. That's gone. And that's good that it's gone. Men have nothing. Men should put a ring on it. How has the ring changed our lovemaking? So we used to make love. So this rush to orgasm, okay, we both turned on we mutual rush to orgasm. If my wife knows and I know I'm going to be hard comfortably for 30 to 45 minutes, that's very, very different in our lives. Can't quantify this. But I hear about this a lot from our customers, especially older people. Our lives are more romantic and intimate now than they were before we started using the ring because my wife knows that even something distracting happens. So one of the common complaints that men have about women, that I've confirmed through customers, is that somehow in the middle of having sex, a woman, even if she's turned on, we start talking about something else. Something happened with the kids, something at work. You know, my wife will suddenly, like, redesign our bedroom. Now, before, I had a ring, that would be an erection killer. But if I have a ring on, hey, I don't care. A guy with an erection thinks very differently than a man who's lost his erection.
So. But then a man would look at this and go, oh, my God, what is that gadget that looks like an animal? It looks like a worm.
Think about that. What does a vibrator look like? A club? This is actually more discreet than a vibrant.
Yeah, exactly. So how can a Man overcome this. And I can tell you, when I first showed it to my husband, he's like, what the heck is that? He's like, you're not putting that on me. But you know, he's my husband. He knows that he's going to get it fortunately, right? And your wife knows that she's married to you. But that's the funny part of my husband. I love him to death that he is my number one model for everything. So how does a guy, how does he overcome using something like this? Like you said, men doesn't like to know they have a problem. So a man go, I'd rather just pop a pill. It's discreet. My partner don't know that I took it. If I wear this, she'll maybe turn off. What's your response for that?
Women need to help men. You talked earlier about how you got to make your husband go to the lab twice or go to the doctor twice a year. If real change is going to come about to improve men's sexual performance, for many men, it's going to be because women take the lead, because women read about it, hear about it, learn about it. So if a woman wants a man to last longer, be more confident, not lose his erection, and have a better orgasm, I mean, my wife's idea of foreplay is to drop this in front of me. And my reaction to it was almost Pavlovian. Why would we haven't experienced the benefits, which are confidence, longevity, hardness. And she loves the fact that my orgasm is so intense that I'm loud. I was never loud before. She likes to jokes about how she's glad our kids are out of the house and grown and gone because I'm noisy for the first time. So men need to realize that if you're struggling, you need an enhancer. I don't call it an aid. And by the way, how do urologists ever come up with penile constriction ring? It's so negative. What man wants to constrict his penis? I think a Nazi would have thought it back in the 20s or 1930s. Constrictionary. No, I want an enhancer. I don't want a constrictor. I want an enhancer. I want something that's going to make me a better lover for myself and for my partner. And men need to open up to that just the way women opened up the vibrators. Put a ring on it.
Absolutely, put a ring on it. So the men have to think that this is his vibrator because like you Said times have changed now. Well, women have to vibrate and it's almost like nothing. Like you said, your daughter brings it on date and most women have. I don't know most. I know I have it.
You know that 80 million women have vibrators. That's a lot of vibrators. We know that.
A lot of vibrators. Yeah.
Over 40 million women have more than one. It's a big industry.
But you know what? It help you have better orgasm. Help you get aroused. Why not? There's nothing wrong with that. And this for a man will help you maintain your erection as well as intensify your orgasm. Now that's a no brainer. I think if you can have sex and enjoy and have better orgasm, it's like a win, win, win.
Think about the data part of it. So how many men, and women for that matter, how many people have a blood pressure machine at home or have a wearable to tell them about their heart rate or their blood pressure? It's in the tens and tens and tens of millions. What data is more dressed into a man than the sex data? It's. The data is really important for men as well too.
So let's go into the data a little bit. So like when you say data, what type of data shows up on the app?
Sure. So we provide men, we call the erectile fitness score. And we do that because we don't want people before this dysfunction. There's fitness. People go to the gym to stay fit and if they have an injury, they go to the gym to get rehab. So we want to provide people with a fitness score and the score is based upon the number of nocturnal rectums they have, how long they last and when they're having sex, how hard do they get and how long they last. So with scores, it's on a 1 to 10, anything more than a 6 is fine. People then go into the, deeper into the app. They can see their performance overnight.
So all that data is collected through this wearable. This is like your apple watch, your oil ring. So all that data you mentioned, the number of nighttime erection, how long you last, how hard you are, and your lack of ejaculation phase, all that's collected on this ring.
That's true.
Can you show that to me on the app?
I am, I'm just waiting for my phone to fire up because I turned it off. It'll take about another 30 seconds.
Exactly. So that's amazing because when you mentioned that, I was like, oh God, that's hard for men to keep Track of. But now they don't have to keep track of that. It's all automated for them.
Correct. And we provide people with notifications. So it could be, hey, Elliot, your nocturnal erection count has gone down by 50%. Why don't you give us four more data points and this problem persists. You should see a doctor. See Dr. Truong. Of course. Or it could be, hey, Elliot, you're having twice as much sex right now as you as you had a month ago. What's changed? Let Dr. Truong know that whatever her therapy she's doing is working.
Gotcha. And it senses how many sexual experience you have too. I guess my ejaculation.
If you document them. I don't document all my sexual experiences, but we do have men who do.
Okay, well, why not? We document what we eat. We do calorie count. We document how many steps we take. Why can't we document that?
So there. There's the score.
Move it back a little bit. There we go.
Okay, there's a score. It's kind of like the whoop score. And I'll show you what a recording looks like.
So it's 1 out of 10 and you had a 7.5 right there.
Okay, that's my overall score, which for my age is five.
Not bad. Not bad. Okay, what is that?
This is an overnight recording. So over here, that's my wife and I having sex, and then I'm having 1, 1, 2, 3 nocturnal erections.
What's that high second peak? Is that when you're having sex again?
No, no, that's just a really strong nocturnal erection.
Oh, wow.
That would be my morning wood. My strongest. Well, actually, I have another one at the very end. I have another one just before I went.
So then you have 1, 2, 3, 5. That's right. Erection. Is that right? According to that. Okay, I see.
That's more exciting to me than my electrocardiogram because basically telling me I'm good cardiac health and I'm on good sexual health.
That's wonderful. I mean, is there one for a woman that she can measure her now?
We've developed one for women and we've tested on 38 women and we're raising money for that right now.
Wonderful.
Women have premenopausal women have protection against heart disease, but postmenopausal women have all the same problems that men do with diabetes, hypertension, atherosclerosis. But premenopausal women take birth control and they take SR antidepressants way more than men do. And Those things interfere with a woman's libido. They're not natural. Utilizing technology, people can then track and hack women can track and hack their health. And I think that the female device catches on even faster than the male device.
Can that device measure libido?
No, you can only measure clitoral blood flow, which reflects libido. Libido can't be quantum.
No, it starts here, starts in the brain. The brain is the larger sexual organs, and it starts in the brain first. So that's an opportunity for somebody to have a device for. Right?
Well, it would be complicated.
I know. It will be. I think so. But at least now there is a device that gives you erection hardness. How good is that? Because I can tell you that way, if I do a treatment of my patient, I can have them use this and say, measure your erection score. Because sometimes they'll say, well, I don't know if I'm getting better, but I go, well, you're having nighttime erection or morning erection, I don't know, not getting better. So maybe they put this on, they can see the firmness improving. So having said that, this is just not a device only for men to use, but it could be a device for doctors to recommend to their patient to monitor their erection health. Especially you have a patient that smokes or a patient that vape or smoke marijuana. Well, maybe put this on and monitor your erection score. And even though you may not have any ED issues, we have men who.
Have cut back on their recreational drug use because they see the impact of upon the sexual performance. Hey, you don't need to smoke the entire joint. Maybe just one or two puffs. Same thing with alcohol. You can use this device to say, gee, Elliot, if you haven't won three cocktails, it ain't happening. So you can. And you can demonstrate that to yourself. Well, I guess that's my limit. So right now what we're doing is really primitive. As you and I discussed earlier, If I went to my cardiologist, said I had chest pain, and he just listened to my heart, the stethoscope, and shot my pulse and said, gee, take digoxin. I would think, what is this, 1900? You and I, if we had chest pain, we expect a CG angiogram, electrocardiogram, blood pressure, blood test. There were no markers. Blood markers, unless you're low T, there are no really great markers. If a man has ad, there's no blood test that's going to distinguish between psychogenic ed ED due to a medical problem, there are indications in the blood test, but there's no. Nothing. That's actually one thing that's got to tell them. This device takes erectile dysfunction into the objective world, like a blood pressure cuff. You tell me you have ed, or you tell me I have blood pressure. I check your blood pressure. You tell me you have ed, I give you a pill. That's wrong. Tell me you have ed. Get your data and tell me your data and then we can start to treat your ED objectively.
Absolutely. I'm with you on that. The next phase, we have to do the same thing for women as well, too, in the same parameter, because women have the same issue as men. Women, you also have erection dysfunction. Maybe not an erection, but maybe clitoral dysfunction, maybe vulva. Vulva, the whole entire area. But you do have the same problem as ed. It's just that your anatomy parts are different than men.
Less obvious.
Yeah.
The reason why women secrete less. Less wet as they get older is it's less blood flow. Now, if you have diabetes, they have a neurological component as well too, but overall it's less blood flow. The reason why it's harder to climax for women as they get older is less blood flow. Women are going to need to think about what's going to keep the blood in the clitoris.
Absolutely. I'm a big proponent of hormone replacement therapy. I'm on it. I've been on hormones since at 52. It's a game changer for me. And if any woman's watching this, do not suffer with painful intercourse. It can be treated easily sometime within days. So if you are having painful intercourse, it may just be you have less lubrication, go see a doctor, get evaluated. And sometimes if all anatomy parts okay and everything. If you're a candidate for hormone replacement therapy, get some hormone, some estrogen, topical estrogen down there. Putting it around the vaginal opening will actually alleviate the symptoms. I see patients literally with five, six days, boom, no more pain.
You can restore libido with testosterone.
Absolutely. Yeah. I combine testosterone and estrogen, and sometimes I'll give testosterone pellets as well too. So I wanted to say that because I'm a woman, but I feel that sometimes women doesn't know that they don't have to suffer with pain within a course because sometimes they think that, well, I'm older. That's just part of getting older. I just have to bear it.
So the doctors tell them too, and they're wrong. To your point, these problems are reversible. And I speak to probably at least one woman if not two women a week, because they know the field I'm in. I don't have the expertise that you do. But they don't feel comfortable talking about it with their doctors.
Yeah.
And they feel comfortable discussing with people like you and me. Because we're in the space.
Yeah, we're in this space and we talk about. But we also ask. That's the thing we ask. We proactively. And I can't tell you, If I see 10 women, I asked 10 of them, eight of them will say, oh, yeah, oh my God. I mean, they're like excited to tell me that I have issues with that. And then within like a couple weeks, they're like, oh, once they get their topical, they're like, great. So having said it, I'm so excited about this. I mean, not new, been around for a while. The firm tech device and the impact it's having for men as an ability objective measure of your erection. So before you pop in that Viagra and Cialis, do blood work, get this device and get some data first. And also this will also tell you, hey, that blood pressure medicine you're taking or that antidepressant that you think you need, it's affecting your retinol now. Because oftentimes getting some testosterone, getting some supplemental testosterone will actually make you feel better, make you have better libido, have more energy, sleep better. And then when you go to the gym, you can have a better muscle mass production. So oftentimes you may not need that antidepressant at all. Yeah, look at it. What dose of testosterone are you on?
100.
100 a week.
100 milligrams a week.
A week. You're injecting like total 100 a week.
And I'll share with you. The impact on my erections is minimal. The impact upon my performance in the gym is significant. The impact upon my energy level recovery. And I said, we have men, by the way, who use our device to decide what the right dose is for them. There are men with low T who do respond to testosterone and there actually, there are men who don't. With our device, they can actually see, what am I a responder or I not responder? What's the right dose do I need to have? You know, we have guys who jack up their testosterone to 1500. Yeah, the erections are better. But then, hey, you come down to 800 and you're still good. So why take so much if you don't need it?
I love that because every man has his own sweet spot. Yours is 100. The man is 150, the man is 200. And I went to the sexual medicine course that was held by Harvard Med School a few months back in January. And it's interesting fact that I didn't know this, but every man's testosterone receptor is different. You're different than my husband, your brother. It's different because it's genetically driven. So that means that like a testosterone, a bioactive free testosterone floating in your blood. And if your receptor different, you may need more testosterone to produce the effect, versus another man who doesn't need as much testosterone because his receptor, the one that received the testosterone herself, is more sensitive to the testosterone. So that's why some men, you need a little bit higher dose, some men just okay with a lower dose, some men okay with the middle dose. So oftentimes you treat the symptoms and instead of treating the number like you just mentioned, some men are like, oh, my level is at 1500, I must be good. Absolutely not. I can't tell you how many times I see patients coming in to me and their levels, like sometimes even above the high level, even like 1500, when they're not feeling well, their libido suck, they're having horrible erections and they start to have chest without fat or man boobs. And they even have like love hair nose because they're converting their testosterone to estrogen. And then the worst part, they don't blood work because they get the medicine from India, they're getting their testosterone from India and they're injecting it themselves without a doctor prescription, without monitoring, without blood work. Don't ever do that.
I want to emphasize three things, basically to wrap up. One, you need, if you have ED or you want to avoid having ed, you need objective, personal, actionable data because men are different. And doctors will treat you as if it's your one size fits all unless they have the data. If you get this device, you'll be educating your doctor more likely than not about the value of the device. So put a rig on for the data. Put a rig on it so you'll last longer, more confident, and have a more intense orgasm. And the third reason is your partner's gonna like it too. They're like the vaccine.
Well, good, so that way you don't feel weird that you have that on. So having said that, thank you, Dr. Justin, for being on our episode today.
