The next one is hypogonadism, meaning low testosterone. 25% of men with diabetes actually have low testosterone as well. This is the reason why when you have diabetes, insulin resistance causes SHBG or sex hormone binding globulin to rise as well as it also increases aromatase activity, which then increases more estrogen being produced from testosterone. The hypogonadism also increases inflammatory mediator as well too, so it just creates an inflammatory state that creates an imbalance in your hormone. But the good news is that if you have adult onset diabetes, you can actually change that. You can treat it yourself by reducing calories.
