The platelet is involved in a lot of factors. They're small, but yet so powerful. They are vasoconstrictors, which mean that they help make the blood vessels smaller to reduce blood loss. They stick together to form a platelet plug, which then seal the small breaks in the blood vessels. And they secrete something called pro, coagulant or proag clotting factors, which promote blood clotting. They also initiate blood dissolving enzyme, which dissolve blood clots as well. And they also secrete a chemical that attract white blood cells such as neutrophils and monocyte to the area of inflammation. So they induce inflammation, which then induces healing.
