Hello, My name is Dr. Ann Truong, and today we're going to talk about proper hand washing to fight against the coronavirus. We know that we're supposed to wash our hands for 20 seconds, but we don't really have a proper way of doing it. So we can cover all the areas of our hands. Our hands is the harbor for bacteria and for viruses to live on because it has a lot of surface area and, and it's where we touch. So this is the proper way of killing the virus. The coronavirus has the protein shell outside of it that is protecting it. But the soap is alkaline. And when you wash your hand with soap, it's like breaking up the covering of the coronavirus, essentially bursting it open and killing it. Then that is our best defense right now against the coronavirus. So. So I'm going to show you a way. It's a hand washing that will cover all the areas of your hands that you're going to do it every time you wash your hands. And it comes in steps of five. Everything is in five. So let's go to it.
All right. I like my water kind of warm. And make sure that you have plenty of water. And then now we're soaked. And then you want to work up a good lather like this, good foaming lather. And then you start five up and down on the back of the right hand and five up and down on the back of the left hand, and five up and down on the palm, and five up and down on the palm of the left hand. Then you go between the fingers like this five times on both hands. All right? And then you do the nails five times on the right hand, the right hand on the left hand, and then five times on the left hand like this, back and forth five times. And then you do both hands like this five times. So that's about 30 seconds. Then you thoroughly rinse your hand. Make sure you get all the soap out. Imagine all that coronavirus being burst open and just coming off of your hand. Then you use your elbow to turn off the water. Make sure you use paper towels, because paper towels wipe it clean. And keep your hands without any type.
Of viruses versus the air dryer that can actually reinfect your hands again. So that's proper hand washing technique.
And I'll be back to talk about.
