The speaker explains that SNS (fight-or-flight) activation reduces peripheral/genital blood flow, opposing parasympathetic-mediated relaxation required for erection, and thus vaping may impair sexual function by constricting penile blood vessels.

E cigarette can increase sympathetic nervous system tone. And when sympathetic nervous system is a system that gets activated when you're fight or flight, when you're stressed, when you are trying to run away from a threat, the last thing you want to think about is having sex, right? You want to be able to have good vision. You want to be able to have all the blood goes into your muscles in your periphery of your arms and your legs. You can run away from the threat. What happened is that when you have an erection, your parasympathetic nervous system needs to be activated. That's the relax and breathe nervous system. Which more in the nervous system that is activated when you're relaxed and you're in the mood to have sex. So the sympathetic nervous system is activated. And so when that happens, it, it make the blood vessels smaller and reduce blood flow to the penis. And you don't want that, right.
