Good morning. We all know gut is our second brain, but unfortunately our Ayurveda was so focused on gut health, but allopathy somehow lost it in the last few years. And what has that resulted in? A big epidemic of mental health and gut health issues. Autoimmunity, allergies, migraines, and I can continue with that. But today I am going to talk to you about 9 tips I feel if you can follow, you will have a healthy gut. And if you wait till the end of this video, I promise you a recipe which you will get if you click a selfie with me and hashtag me on the Facebook page. Wow! So let's see what are these 9 tips which can make this such a powerful system in our body healthy and that's the gut. Breathe into your stomach. That's extremely important, friends. In today's lives where we are all stressed out, what happens is a lot of people who come to my practice, I see them breathing opposite. Either when they breathe in, their chest expands and stomach doesn't move at all, or when they are breathing in, their stomach goes in saying, I have hold it now, do whatever and get the breath in. This impacts our digestion, and that is the reason Lot of us have very slow basal metabolic rates today. So simple step of breathing into your stomach can be very vital for your good gut health. Second, stress-free. Very important again, because what happens is— I'm sure a lot of you would not have heard this before. But let me tell you, stress decreases our ability of the gut to release the acid, which is HCl acid, which is important for digestion of the food. And it also decreases the release of enzymes, which are important for digestion of food. And what does that result into? That results into wrong or slow absorption of food, which means that the food starts to get putrefied there, and it leads to more infections. In our body. Third, very, very important. All our ancestors have said that always, that chew your food. And I want to give you a test today. Chew your food 30 times and share with me in the chat box or comment section below. Was it easy? Was it slightly difficult? Or was it so difficult that you couldn't continue to chew your every bite 30 times? This will give you a great indication of what is happening inside your gut. Start your day with lemon water in warm water. Why do I say that? 70% of our body is water, and when we start our day in the right way, we actually will see that your water intake during the day will be optimum. You will feel lighter, the calorie intake will be less, and it will be a very organized day you will lead. Fifth, and a lot of us might not agree with this, is if you have any gut health issue, please mark my words, if you have any gut health issue like autoimmunity, like migraines, like constipation, like bloating, acidity, slow metabolism, just feeling heavy after meals, or even without not feeling like eating, Avoid gluten because all these symptoms are symptoms of leaky gut. And when you have leaky gut, friends, we need to remember that our gut is a very thin lining structure. It has a single-cellate structure, and leaky gut means it gets injured and there are gaps here. What happens is when we take gluten, because it's a Large size protein it has, some of it goes out into our blood supply. Now we all know that our body has an army, yes or no? Yes, and that is our immune system. Now what does our army do? Our army attacks if it feels that somebody from other countries attacking us, right? Similarly, in our body, our army, that's our immune system, thinks an outsider has come and attacks it by producing antibodies. And we all know when antibodies in our blood rises, it means we have an autoimmune disease. And friends, important is autoimmune disease don't stop at a place. Every few years you keep adding one more and one more disease. So it's extremely important if you have any symptoms, the least you can do to show your love to your gut, right, is avoid gluten. Then, very important, the 6th tip for a healthy gut is eat fermented foods. Our sprouts, our achars are exceptionally good for our gut. And why do I say that? We have to know that there are about 1 trillion bacteria, fungi, viruses which stay in our gut. And they need different sorts of food. And fermented foods actually change the microbiome and make it more balanced. Do remember to eat sprouts or other fermented foods like sauerkraut, like kefir every day. Daily bowel movement is very important for your gut health. Once or twice— twice is actually ideal— helps us detoxify, helps us cleanse our body properly. and also tells us that our food is being digested properly and there is intestinal motility and the time for the food from the mouth to the anus and excretion is within ordinary. And then you know it, gut cannot be healthy unless we do two more things and that's tip number 8 and tip number 9. Exercise and drinking enough water. Exercise is exceptionally important because it stimulates the enzyme production, it stimulates the mobility, it keeps everything in form. And last is water, and why I've kept it last is because it's most important. And friends, what I want to tell you is there is not a decent amount which I can tell you that you must drink 2 liters of water or 4 liters of water. No, You must drink water whenever you are thirsty, and you must drink water when you are sitting, and you must drink it slowly. You shouldn't gulp it like this. That is not the right way to drink water. Our body is 70% water, so I tell all of my patients to do a test. Whenever they feel hungry, they should drink a little water and see Are they feeling good and happy now? If the hunger pangs have gone away, means it was not hunger pangs and it was thirst which was telling them to put something in their mouth. That way, what they do is they control their calories, they eat healthy, and most importantly, they have enough water in the body, and that's 70% of us. Wishing all of you a healthy gut and a happy brain. And remember, friends, gut is our second brain, and we cannot have a healthy brain till we have a healthy gut. All the best, have fun, and do tag me with your selfie on my Facebook link and write on my comments channel how did you like this video and any other topic which you will want me to cover in the coming days. See you, bye-bye.
