Ash Gourd Salad | By Dr. Priti Nanda Sibal

In this video, Dr. Priti Nanda Sibal demonstrates how to prepare a flavorful ash gourd salad or raita. She begins by adding finely cut saffron petals and fresh coriander leaves to a bowl, then incorporates three‑quarters of a bowl of curd, emphasizing that the modest amount keeps the dish light enough to be called a salad. For heat, she adds one green chili, followed by a pre‑mixed spice blend containing oregano and salad dressing components. Because the spice mix already includes salt, she advises omitting additional salt unless using plain oregano, black pepper, or similar spices, in which case salt can be added to taste. The ingredients are simply mixed together, resulting in a vibrant, aromatic salad that can be enjoyed alongside chapati, vegetables, or any meal, adding color and flavor to the plate.
