Be Gutsy in Gratitude - DAY 11

In this live group coaching session titled “Be Gutsy in Gratitude – Day 11,” Dr. Priti Nanda Sibal leads a virtual class with participants Chitra, Tanvi, Mercy and others. The core of the session is the “Magic Morning” gratitude practice, a structured routine that begins each day with a mental “thank you” mantra for every object, action, and person encountered. Participants share personal testimonies of how the practice has shifted their mindset from habitual negativity to positivity, helped break patterns of self‑criticism, and even contributed to physical improvements such as better gut health, reduced asthma symptoms, and weight loss. Dr. Priti reinforces the practice by reading a scripted gratitude passage, guiding the group through counting blessings, writing a list of ten blessings, and ending the day with a “magic rock” ritual. The conversation also highlights the psychological principle that repeated gratitude reduces negative thoughts and creates a feedback loop of more positive experiences. The session concludes with a communal affirmation song and encouragement to continue the practice daily.

Good morning.
Very good morning. Wow! Just give me a minute, let me just admit everybody in. So you're looking very fresh, Chitra, early morning.
Thank you, thank you.
Good morning, Tanvi.
Good morning, Doctor.
Good morning, Chitra.
Good morning, Tanvi. Yes, yes, fresh school.
Great. So, what did you read?
Fresh news. Say it, say it.
Just a minute. Yes. No, so before that, how was yesterday?
Which is, um, yeah, I think college times, something I usually find to nag me, and then something, be it big, be it small, depending on the situation. And this I realized yesterday. Then I realized this I've been doing since college. College. And I think— I don't think I'm the only person who does this. Like, I feel like we are predisposed to negativity. It's so— yes, yes. I wrote for this situation, this thing that I do, and the fact that I now have discovered it. So I'll share 2-3 gratitude. I'm very grateful that I have discovered this pattern of mine. I'm very grateful that this, uh, that such patterns are very easy to break if I don't like the match. Uh, very grateful for the technique of saying I refuse to like this matchstick and I will only do good for myself. And thank you for this chance to make myself stronger. And it really worked for me.
Very good, very good. No, no, that's actually— that's what we all do.
And I started doing something. How are you doing? I just always say I'm doing amazing, I'm doing great.
So we used to read this, fake it till you make it. You know, you won't even realize when that becomes your natural hussy. But at least start laughing. I think when I was young, even in late in school, in college, I used to do this and I used to tell everybody to do this. Yes, so there are ways to live your life. And very interesting, very interesting. I think there was a huge depth, and next day same she was like, right?
So I think you must do this again, and situations For example, I'm very grateful, uh, okay, I'm very grateful that, uh, that those sorts of situations gave me a part of the very strong moral code I have because it made me aware of how evil acts affect other people. So now I will never cause it to anybody else. Perfect, perfect.
Okay, okay. How it benefited you, definitely you've tried to answer, but benefit reality, beneficial. Because the only way to get them out of your system is to keep giving them gratitude.
Thank you for being in my past.
Right, yes. Perfect. So, so, have we started doing that?
Yes.
Kiskis nikki hai. Anybody else?
A satellite. Great.
Oh, very good. Wow, very nice. So what is there in this image? 11, yes, good. I was just checking alert. And generally it opens on the page which we have to read.
Yes, yes, yes.
So a magic morning. So I'm sure, you know, we have been giving— doing the exercise and giving thank you for everything. We woke up and did this thank you exercise. Perfect. Yes, Chitra?
Yeah, just before that, yesterday I just want to share. So I'm in the hospital, right? So 2-3 things I'm realizing is that I think everything is getting more connected. Like yesterday, what happened? So I had to go for my session and I went, and like consciously through— it's a long corridor I have to walk. So consciously I was walking around trying to look at everyone, some in the eye, some not in the eye, but definitely looking at each one of them and smiling my way, wishing them. And in my mind sprinkling that magic dust. And when I went to for the session and the girl was doing it for me, her— I looked her at the eye and I actually appreciated, saying that you did a very good. And as they were saying, no, also the reason that you were genuine, like, not that I was consciously doing it, but subconsciously I was like, I have to do it, I should do it, then say yes.
But you did this like this, I didn't feel the heat and all that.
I gave her a little bit of bit of water. Immediately then she said, thank you so much, so you're the first person who's telling me this. And I was like, imagine, imagine, right? She was very, very happy. Then I have one— I had one more session. She's telling me So like, you know, she took that one step further to ask me, do you want any time preference for afternoon when I do it? And then she's telling me, like, you know what feedback I gave her, right? He said, I'll put that on like a baton to the person in the afternoon, but I will not be there. Challenge. Time that you want, I will do it. Anyway, I have to do it.
Yes, thanks for sharing this. And Chitra, see, thank you, and we all keep doing it all the time, right? And imagine this girl, she must have been working there for some time now. Yeah, right. And she's only treating patients. And she doesn't remember anybody saying thank you to her. So what I'm trying to say is that somehow the science which we think we know has somewhere— we've lost it.
Or then you were saying how much you're taking for granted everything happening or everyone being there. Yes. Or actually, dono nahi hai. Agar usmein se ek banda chutti pechha hai toh mushkil, aur ek banda kaam nahi kare. So bolte hain us brethren and brotherhood, but literally you're able to see hundreds of people working in that hospital.
Exactly, exactly. And unki families ka kitna support hai, all of that. So I think this is an amazing feeling to be in. Very beautiful, Chitra, very beautiful. So Chitra, I wanted to share something. I think you had given a testimonial after our, you know, program. So yesterday we had that webinar and I happened to see you, your testimonial. You are looking so much better now.
Thank you.
You seem to have lost a little weight. You seem to have you know, become a little younger. And of course, from the very first day to today, you seem to be smiling more and all of that. But I could actually see the contrast, you know, a lot of difference, a lot of positive difference. All the best to you.
Thank you so much.
Thank you. Yes, Chitra, let's read this chapter.
When you arise in the morning, think of What a privilege it is to be alive, to think, to enjoy, to love. Marcus Aurelius. Easiest and simplest way to ensure the day ahead will be filled with magic is to fill your morning with gratitude. When you incorporate gratitude into your morning routine, you will feel and see its magical benefits throughout the whole day. Each morning is full of opportunities to give thanks, and it doesn't slow you down or take any extra time because you can do it naturally as you go about everything you do. There is an added bonus to filling your morning with gratitude because your daily routines are the most other times when you can harm yourself the most by thinking negative thoughts without realizing you're doing it.
Beautiful. So, sorry, Chitra, I will take a minute here. Have you ever imagined the scene, this, generally, you know, Speed, right? And that's the reason we say we focus a lot on starting a pro— anything what we do well, and so true, you know, this line is because you know you are in a different zone.
Yeah, right.
So this is so beautiful and so true.
Yes, there's no room for harmful negative thoughts when your mind is focused on looking for things to be grateful for. After this practice, you will go into your day feeling much happier and more confident that the day ahead will be and that's when you will see the magic happen before your eyes. When you wake up to the new day today, before you move, before you do a single thing, say the magic words, thank you. Say thank you for the fact that you are alive and that you have been given another day of life. Your life is a gift. Every day is a gift. And when you really think about it, it's inconceivable that any of us would wake up in the morning without giving thanks for another day. If you think a new day isn't such a big deal, then just try missing one.
So beautiful, yeah, right? Just read this line again. I think for all of us: if you think a new day isn't such a big deal, then just try missing one. Right, great. And let's do this. Lot of us do this. Lot of us keep sleeping for a few days. A lot of us don't want to do anything for a few days. A lot of us just keep sulking on certain days, right? Yes.
It doesn't matter how sleepy you are, or if your alarm has woken you up for work, or you've slept in during the weekend. The moment you wake, say the magic words: thank you for another day of your life. Say thank you for the good night's sleep you received. Are you fortunate enough to have slept in a bed with sheets and a pillow? Thank you. As your feet hit the ground, say thank you. Do you have a bathroom? Thank you. Are you able to turn on the taps and immediately receive fresh clean water every morning? Thank you. Imagine all the people who dug the trenches and laid the pipes across your country, throughout your city, and all along all the streets to your home. So you can turn a tap and receive beautiful clean hot water. Thank you. As you reach for your toothbrush and toothpaste, thank you. Without them, your day would not begin so pleasantly. Thank you for the towels, the soap, the mirror, and everything in the bathroom you use that makes you feel fresh, awake, and ready for the day. As you get dressed, think about how fortunate you are to have clothes to choose from and wear. Thank you. Think about how many people must have been involved in making all the various items of clothing you put on and wear in one day. It's likely that the clothes you put on in one day come from many countries across the planet. Thank you to everybody. Do you have shoes? Lucky you. Imagine life without them. Thank you for shoes. I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day. A fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning.
So beautiful, no? When you read this line, what comes to your mind?
It's plain canvas, hey, which we start. Actually, every morning you wake up— at least that's the way I wake up— it's a new canvas. Paint anything from today. It's an empty canvas. Paint what you feel like.
Yeah, but when I read— I'll read this line again and tell me what moves inside you. I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning. You know, when we are young, So every time I read this line, I become a 3 or 4-year-old Preeti, and you know, I actually start imagining that, you know, there's magic everywhere.
Us.
So this really makes me feel very, very good.
Yeah, it's like that song in that Annie musical, Orphan Annie. Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow, you're always a day away.
Perfect. Yes, great.
Yes, Chitra, make today as good as it can be by practicing concentrated gratitude and putting the magic into your morning routine. From the moment you open your eyes until you have put your shoes on or finished getting ready, say the magic words "thank you" in your mind for everything you touch and use. It doesn't matter if you don't shower or get dressed first thing in the morning. You can still use this magic morning practice as a guide and apply it to whatever your morning routine is. If you wake up and eat breakfast first, Then as you touch and use each thing for your breakfast, say the magic words, thank you. Give thanks for your morning coffee, tea, fruit juice, or breakfast. They make your morning so enjoyable and give you energy for the day. Be grateful for the kitchen appliances you use for your breakfast— the refrigerator, hot plates, oven, toaster, coffee maker, or kettle. Every day without exception, I say thank as I put one foot on the floor. Floor, and you as my other foot touches the floor, so that as both feet touch the floor for the first time each day, I have said thank you. As I walk toward my bathroom, I say the magic words thank you in my mind with each step. Then I continue saying thank you in my mind as I touch and use each thing in my bathroom. By the time I'm dressed and ready for the day, I feel so happy I could jump for joy. And when I feel that happy, I know my gratitude has worked. And I'm guaranteed to have a magical day. As I go through my day, I really feel as though I have the magic part within me because one good thing after another happens.
So beautiful, Chitra. Just a minute, let's look at this. Have we started experiencing this joy?
Yes, right? Yes, a lot. Yes.
And agar hum subhe You know, we are doing thank you, we are in gratitude. So one big, big thing happens is negative thoughts, you know, there are so many good things which we start seeing. And of course, the day starts looking magical. And it's such a magical feeling, such a magical feeling that I think the way you start That's what I've realized here. If you are into gratitude and happiness, that's where you will reach. If you are into negatives and, you know, cribbing and fear and everything, then that keeps on increasing. Okay, so this is so beautiful and magical. Wow. Thank you. Yes, Chitra.
As a good thing happens, I'm even more grateful, which speeds up the magic with even more good things happening. You know those days when everything just seems to go right for you? Well, that's what it's like after doing Magic Morning, but multiplied.
Beautiful, beautiful. So, aaj kitne hamese kitne logone Magic Morning already shuru kar diya hai?
I have started.
Great. So I've also started. Tanvi has also started. And please do it just after the class. You have to just say thank you and see. Yes, let's read the magic practice number 11.
A magic morning. When you wake up to the new day, before you do a single thing, say the magic words thank you. From the moment you open your eyes until you finish getting ready, say the magic words thank you in your mind for everything you touch and use. 3. Count your blessings. Make a list of 10 blessings. Write why you're grateful. Reread your list and at the end of each blessing say thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you, and feel as grateful for that blessing as you can. Just before you go to sleep tonight, hold, hold your magic rock in one hand and say the magic words: thank you for the best thing that happened during the day.
So, so, so beautiful.
Wow.
Yes. So do we have any questions or anything to share?
More than question, I think, uh, the beauty was— and this is my personal thing— so you remember the first 2 days I was really, really bad, low and all that. So, and second thing, secondly, I think I told you that I had a breakdown and I couldn't write and I was finding it so difficult.
Yes.
So I was reading every day and I've been picking up definitely every day, being sincere about it, really putting my heart and soul genuinely into it. But yesterday, and I've been rereading the gratitude, and yesterday I'm telling myself, you know, I was feeling so nice. I was feeling like a milestone. Wow.
I felt so nice doing that. No, that is beautiful. So, ah, so if this phenomenal change we can, you know, get into into our lives. And you know, very interesting is, and why I've started this also is, so as you all know, my gut health, unless you shift their mental state, they will never heal completely. So my thing was that, you know, they are working with me for 6 months, for 1 year, right? 6 months later they are again back. Because whatever you can do at other places, this is very powerful. So I thought, let me just start this and create this, because whatever else I will do It will have more meaning, more sense, more benefit. So it is amazing, and every day you do it, you're just better at it. Perfect. Kisi ke koi questions?
Nay, but I want to say Chitra ji looks like a different person. Ah!
So aapko pata hai, when she wrote to me that I broke down and is it normal? Yes, Chitra, she separately sent me a message, so I just, you know, sent a message back saying, because I knew now she is going to turn a new leaf. Right? So, chitra ustein pe jis state mein thi, and the way she did it, you know, it just opened all the doors for her to now feel gratitude inside her. So one day she had asthma, she had bad sleep, she had bad health, right? All of that. She said, I actually collapsed, or something like that. She really— but I knew now she's opening up. Now she's opening up, and I'm very confident that by the time, you know, we are at the end of the, you know, we are finishing the 30th day, she will share the good news of getting a job with all of us. And then she's going to treat all of us.
Of course, of course, it goes without saying. It does.
Yes, because I can definitely see a lot of positivity in her, and I can definitely see things keep coming. No, I'll tell you, it is so powerful. I'm making my own clinic, a bigger one now, okay? And I could never have thought of doing it. You know, we, uh, at this age, you don't want to invest all your savings into a clinic. And I used to start thinking, who is going to support me? Now I don't do anything like that. I think, okay, yeah, good. Tell me. In the morning I get up and ask myself, and I'm grateful to them. And, and so what is happening is this journey of making this big clinic, you know, is becoming so enjoyable for me. So very nice. Tanvi, I. Oh, I. I told you now I. I don't know where you can see that testimonial. If I find it, I will share it in our class. One day she is a new person altogether. If the name would not have been same, you would not have recognized that she is Chitra only. Great. Very, very good. So very nice, Tanvi. I told you, na, I don't know where you can see that testimonial. If I find it, I will share it in our class one day. She is a new person altogether. If the name would not have been same, you would not have recognized that she is Chitra only. Great, very, very good. Good, perfect. So let's end this beautiful session with a little song and an affirmation for all of us. So we all can unmute if we want. This little light of mine, this little light of mine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. This little light of mine, let it shine. Let it shine. This little light of mine, let it shine. Let it shine. Let it shine. Beautiful! Have a very, very nice day and keep giving gratitude. Gratitude. Everything you touch today, everything you touch today, everything you experience today, put your hand here and just say thank you.
Perfect.
Have an awesome day. Bye-bye. See you tomorrow at 6.
Thank you.
Bye-bye, Mercy.
God bless.
Thank you, Mercy. Thank you.
