DAY 19 - BE GUTSY in GRATITUDE

In this 2021 YouTube group coaching session, Dr. Priti Nanda Sibal leads a gratitude-focused meeting with participants Sakshi, Namrata, and Chitra. After a brief check‑in about daily experiences, Dr. Sibal introduces the "Magic Footsteps" exercise from the program’s handbook. The practice asks participants to say "thank you" with each of 100 steps (approximately 90 seconds) while walking, thereby embedding gratitude into everyday movement. Sakshi reads the chapter, explains the method, and shares her personal experience of using the exercise throughout the day, noting an attitude shift toward a brighter mood and reduced procrastination. Dr. Sibal reinforces the importance of feeling gratitude during the practice, highlights the Einstein quote linking gratitude to purpose, and encourages participants to make the exercise a natural habit. The session concludes with a collective affirmation (“Let it shine”) and well‑wishes for a participant’s grandson.

Good morning. Hi, good morning.
Good morning. Good morning.
Wow, everybody's looking so fresh.
So, Carl, Yes, Sakshi, it was really nice. It was great, great, perfect.
So wish him long, long, long and healthy life. Thank you so much.
Thank you.
Yes. And how was the day?
It was good.
What did you do? How did you use the exercise and did it materialize for you or not?
Uh, I also did it the same way. I just— I didn't visualize. I made it on a piece of paper with the help of a pencil, and then I wrote it the way you were telling me, and I just kept it right now, like in the book it's written and it's there. Like, let's see.
Okay, so keep it somewhere where you can see it.
Okay, all right.
All right, anything which materialized?
Yes.
So what I noticed Over the day, somehow that was always coming back to me. I like that. And then an attitude change, which was very nice. Exactly. And see, but when I was doing this book for the first time, so our mentor, she used to say, right? And, um, but that mindset has gone away that I can postpone this activity for tomorrow. Now, and that is very, very critical. And now my brain automatically goes into, uh, brighter side of everything mood. But on the other hand, and then mood changes, right? This is amazing, very, very nice. So let's see. Good morning, Namrata.
Good morning, ma'am.
How is the little one?
He is quite injured, ma'am. Better, okay.
Very, very nice. So who will read today? Yeah, take water.
Oh, sorry, ma'am. All right.
So we are going to read this chapter, Magic Footsteps, today. So from Sakshi and Chitra, one of you can actually—
I will read.
Okay, Sakshi. Yes, Sakshi, can you see the book?
Yes, I can see the book.
Great.
So yeah, can I start?
Yes. Magic Footsteps.
Magic Footsteps. A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life depend on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and I'm still receiving. Albert Einstein.
With those words, it is so important. Just a minute. Yes or no, right? And Albert Einstein says that that's the reason that we must exert ourselves so that And it is not about contributing in the same people's lives, but it is contributing in someone's life, right? Whether we think like this or not, but it is very, very important. They are just working because salary. Right, but the moment you start thinking, you get a purpose of doing something and you start feeling very, very good. And second, the moment you do like this, that you just keep on improving without putting That much amount of work many carry without putting any hard work. But to reach that, you know, space, this is a beautiful words and they are so deep, so deep. So you will get to have a very new perspective about things. Especially, you know, payments, but we just do it. And that's not the right way. Yes, Sakshi.
Yes, ma'am. Oh, okay. All right, start with those words. Einstein gave us a gift. Equal to his scientific discoveries. He gave us one of the magical secrets to his success: gratitude every day. Einstein is the inspiration behind today's magical practice, and you are going to follow in his footsteps to bring success to your life. Today, like Einstein, you will say thank you 100 times, and you are going to do it by taking 100 magic footsteps. While it might seem unbelievable, unbelievable to you that taking footsteps can make a difference to your life, you will discover that it is one of the most powerful things you can do. God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say thank you? William A. Ward.
So beautiful, no? Yeah.
Yes. To take magic footsteps, you take one step and in your mind say the magic word thank you as your foot touches the ground, and then again say thank you as your other foot touches the ground. One foot, thank you. Next foot, thank you. And continue saying the magic words with every footstep. The best thing about magic footsteps is that— yes, you can take any number of magic footsteps. Anywhere and at any time. Through your house, from one room to another, walking to get your lunch or coffee, taking the trash out, walking to a business meeting, on your way to catch a cab, train, or bus. You can take magic footsteps on your way to anything that is important to you, like exams, a date, a job interview, an audition, to meet a client, to the bank, ATM, dentist, doctor, hairdresser, to see your team play in a sports game, down corridors, through airport terminals, in parks, or from one block to another. I take magic footsteps around my home, from my bed to my bathroom, Kitchen to my bedroom and outside to my car.
Just a minute, just a minute. I am just wanting to check session record. Okay, please check. I think it's, it's, uh, yes, perfect. I can't see it here now because screen share. Yes. Sorry, Sakshi.
Yeah, yeah. All right. I take magic foot— yeah, I've done this. No, I am right. Where— whenever I walk down a street or walk anywhere, I choose a point as my destination and I put gratitude in my footsteps all the way. If you take— if you take notice of how you are feeling before you begin, then you will notice a big difference in how you feel after you have taken magic footstep. It doesn't matter if you can't get much of a feeling of gratitude while you are taking them. I promise you will still feel happier afterwards. If you are feeling down, magic footsteps will make you feel better. And even if you are feeling great, magic footsteps will lift your spirits even higher. Shall I continue?
Yes, yes.
To take the most effective magic steps, take magic footsteps for about 90 seconds. This is how long— this is how long it will take the average person to take 100 steps at a leisurely pace.
Wow.
This practice is not about taking 100 steps exactly, but taking at least that number of steps, because it will probably take that number of footsteps to make a difference to the way you feel.
Now, this is very important to know. Note, and you know, you've done with it and you're very happy. Exercise. Okay. The way you feel change. 90 seconds, 100 footsteps, 100 times thank you. You will start feeling different, definitely. But you just keep saying thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. You will not feel different at the end of that, those, you know, 90 seconds. So feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling is very, very critical when we do this exercise. Yes, Sakshi.
Okay, once you are, once you are clear on the approximate distance, you can take your 100 steps of gratitude anytime during the day. Don't count the footsteps when you are doing the practice because You will be counting instead of saying thank you, the magic words, with each step. When you have completed today's magical practice, you will have said the magic words thank you 100 times. How many days of your life have you said thank you 100 times? And Einstein did it every day.
So beautiful. So What she is trying to tell us in this chapter is gratitude, right? And of course, she says that, you know, Einstein did it every day. And I think every successful person would be using the power of gratitude to become successful and to be happy and to help others and to contribute in people's lives. So this is amazing. So next level of gratitude, and the beauty is it doesn't need the whole day. It will just be requiring 90 seconds of your day, right? Yes, magic practice.
Okay, magic practice number 19: Magic Footsteps. Count your blessings. Make a list of 10 blessings. Write why you are grateful. Reread your list, and at the end of each blessing, say thank you, thank you, thank you, and, uh, wait, and feel as grateful for that blessing as you can. Take 100 magic footsteps for about 90 seconds in gratitude, in any time during the day. With each footstep, say and feel the magic word— thank you. Just before you go to sleep tonight, hold your magic rock in one hand and say the magic words Thank you for the best thing that happened during the day.
Wow, thank you, Sakshi, for reading such a beautiful chapter for all of us. Thank you.
Thank you, ma'am.
Perfect. So anybody who has any questions about this exercise?
Not about this exercise, but generally every day I've been doing not this but similar things So usually now what I do is around 45 minutes to 1 hour, I've been investing in it. And I think that is also why it is now—
I feel like becoming very natural. So I would suggest that for everybody, if you ever want to try. The more you get into it, Perfect. So this is a very beautiful exercise. Okay, and, um, so let's end this session with our beautiful lines. Light is coming out from my, you know, heart, and I am like glowing in it and shining. And so another whole day I keep shining, and I'm sure all of you feel the same. Yes. This little light of mine.
This little light of mine.
Let it shine.
Let it shine.
Let it shine. Let it shine. This little light of mine. Let it shine. Let it shine. Let it shine. This little light of mine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. Thank you everybody, and happy 100 steps today. Thank you so much, ma'am. Thank you. Bye-bye, and wishing speedy recovery to your grandson.
Thank you, ma'am. Thank you so much.
Bye-bye. Take care. Bye-bye.
