In this interview segment, Dr. Priti Nanda Sibal explains that functional medicine targets the root causes of lifestyle‑related diseases such as diabetes and metabolic disorders, unlike conventional medicine which often treats only symptoms. She emphasizes a holistic, 360‑degree approach that integrates emotional, mental, and physical health. Dr. Sibal praises a colleague, Dr. Preeti, highlighting her ability to become a supportive friend, balance bodily imbalances, and achieve lasting results—illustrated by the positive outcomes experienced by Dr. Sibal’s own wife, who is a patient of Dr. Preeti.
How functional medicine can help in diabetes and metabolic disorders? What's your opinion about that?
I just explained to you that functional medicine goes into the root cause of the problem. Functional medicine goes into the root cause of the lifestyle disorder, of metabolic disorders. Regular medicine does not. So if you want to just cure the symptom of the disease, then you go to a regular doctor. It depends on what your perspective about life. But if you want to get rid of the disease, then you go to a functional medicine doctor.
And you have known Dr. Preeti for quite some time, um, I've known Dr.
Preeti for around 4-5 years now. She's very good, and I think the strength of Dr. Preeti is that she she becomes your friend first, and her knowledge level is tremendous, but she also works on your emotional health, on your mental health. So I think her forte is the amalgamation of emotional health, mental health, and physical health. Okay, and basically her forte is also to, to balance out the imbalances in your body, and she's very good at that. And that's the reason why she gets results, because she, she does not work in a singular pattern. Okay, so she, she approaches the problem from 360 degrees, and that's why You know, my wife is her patient, and she has always wonderful things to say about Dr. Preeti.
Are you satisfied with the results that your wife is getting?
Yeah, yeah, of course I'm satisfied with the results, otherwise I wouldn't be here, right, talking to you.
