Dr. Betty Murray explains how glutathione protects mitochondria by neutralizing oxidative stress and detoxifying toxins. Without it, cells lose energy production capacity and inflammation spreads. Glutathione is made in every cell but its most critical job is keeping mitochondria healthy.

Let's talk about the role glutathione plays in cellular dynamics. Just so everybody kind of knows, what is glutathione really doing inside the cell? Because it is so very, very important. Yes. So it's doing a lot of things. Most important, I think, is it's protecting the mitochondria of your cells, the powerhouse of your cells where energy's produced. And that's where toxins from the environment, or if you're fighting an infection, that's where they tend to congregate in the mitochondria of the cells where they cause damage. Which leads to inflammation, low energy, poor detoxification capacity, all of those things. And so essentially glutathione is manufactured in every cell in your body, but really it protects those mitochondria from oxidative stress, excess oxidative stress and damage. Yeah.
