Before hip surgery, the single most important thing is building muscle strength beforehand. A patient who had two hip replacements created the Wolverine Protocol, a peri-operative guide compiled from podcast guests' experiences, to help others prepare for the procedure and recover faster.

So let's talk a little bit about kind of what did you do to prepare for your hip surgeries, your hip replacements, and what did you learn from those experiences? So if somebody's walking into this like me, what would you say? I did this, don't do that, do this.
Oh yes, I think I have a whole series of podcast episodes on it because I had two. So I did the first surgery and then I did the second, like what did I learn from the first? And I did the second one. And then I also have a PDF of the Wolverine Protocol, which was put together for me, the perioperative surgery, that means the time before and during and after the surgery is there things need to do. And that was put together by all the amazing guests that we have on, on my podcast, who you have on your podcast too. You— I tapped into those resources, is that okay? I'm— that's it, I'm doing this, so how do I prepare? So that's where I got this protocol from. There are many things to do. We won't get into all of them, but maybe some of the bigger levers. And one of them is no matter what kind of surgery you get, build muscle, keep that muscle tone strong because you're going to need that for recovery.
