Dr. Betty Murray explains three critical jobs your lymphatic system does: it transports immune cells throughout your body, removes cellular waste, and delivers fatty acids needed for hormone production. Poor lymphatic flow can impair how your body processes estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and cortisol.

So the lymphatic system is such an important system. We talk so little about it and it does 3 major things and they're major and a lot of little minor things. The major one is it carries your entire immune system. The second one is it takes out all the trash from every cell of your body. And the third, which is important for hormones, it delivers fatty acids to deliver basically the fatty acids, which are the precursors to the hormones to every cell of your body. It's for baseline energy. It's for the phospholipid layer of your skin. And it's also for hormone production. Plus it clears the hormones. So the hormones that are fat soluble in your body are going to be like estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and cortisol. Those are the fat soluble ones. So those are the ones that are somewhat dependent on lymphatic flow, right?
