Dr. Betty Murray describes a test that measures senescent cells in immune cells to reveal biological age. Fat tissue shows a 17-fold increase in these cells, immune cells a 15-fold increase. Since the immune system's senescent burden mirrors that in the heart, lungs, brain, and other organs, the test serves as a proxy for overall aging.
But it has, it's been a 2-year project that I've been working with a transitional laboratory group to develop a test that would let us measure accumulated senescent cell load in your immune system. Okay, fantastic. And the reason I picked immune system is it's the second most likely tissue to become senile. Fat is number 1, 17 times baseline. Your CD8 immune cells. Mm-hmm. 15 times more likely. So we can actually measure now the number of senile cells in your immune system that reflects roughly how much is in your heart, your lungs, your brain, your kidneys, your skin, your bones, all the other places that these things are building up. And so we're having a lot of fun with this. Yeah.
