Short LinkedIn Learning episode by Drew Bridewell explaining a simple practice for capturing ongoing work to simplify mid-year and end-of-year reviews. He recommends keeping a running, private record (he uses a private Facebook group) where weekly entries note projects, processes, events, and relationship-building activities so milestones and impacts can be retrieved later.

Hey there, Drew Bridewell here from Practical ux weekly on LinkedIn learning and this week's episode is about capturing your work. So you might be wondering, what does Drew mean by capturing your work? You know those things that we have to do every six months, every mid year and every end of year review. We have to talk about what we accomplished and what we did and all the impact that we had. But the problem with that is it's hard to remember all the things we do day in and day out. So why not create a method or a practice to be able to capture those things so you're set up for success come year in review or mid year review. And I have a tip for that and I go into that in this video. Now I'll give you a little bit of insight right now. So in case you don't have time to go the video right now, you can check it out later. So a little insight is I use a private group inside of Facebook. You can use any system that you want where you can collect events and videos and content. But basically I, on a week to week basis put in to this group, this private group, all the things that are happening inside my world, everything around the processes that I'm trying to improve, everything around the projects that I'm trying to improve or that I'm working on, and then all the people that I'm building relationships with and trying to develop deeper connection with at work. So I take all these things together and I write about them. And that way come mid year I can go back through this list and see all the milestones and wins and things that I've done. And then also year end review I can do the same thing. And this is what I talk about in this video about capturing your work. So definitely check it out. It's on LinkedIn learning. I'll put the link down below. But other than that, have an amazing rest of your week and happy learning and I'll see you next time. Bye.
