How do you think about your design energy?

Drew Bridewell explains design energy: how your attention and effort flow across days and weeks. He walks through a one-page exercise: map your week, mark your meetings, note when you do focused work. The goal is self-awareness and better performance.

Foreign hey, what's up? Drew Bradwell here. And today I just wanted to give you a quick little refresher on what this whole month's about at Next level ux. So this month we're talking about design energy. And design energy is one of those things that, you know, might sound a little fluffy, but it's so incredibly impactful because it helps you understand how you're spending your time throughout the days, throughout the weeks, throughout the months, and it helps you actually get to another level of just self awareness on how your energy is flowing throughout the days, throughout the weeks, throughout the months. So it's just one of those things and I'm going to just walk you through really quick what you can do to get to another level of design energy and awareness this week, like even just today. So what I want you to do is get a piece of paper, it could be like literally a piece of paper. And I want you to draw a line. Draw a line. And I just want you to think about your Monday through Sunday, Monday through Sunday. And then what I want you to do is just write out all of your meetings that you have, your reoccurring meetings Monday through Sunday. And then I want you to also be thinking about the times that you're going to be spending to get the most important work done. Like, when is that going to be? Is it in the mornings, is it in the afternoons, is it in the evenings? When is it? And I just want you to take this moment to reflect on your week and you know, there might be moments where you're like, I can't really move these meetings, I can't really change them. But what I just want you to start doing is considering reflecting about it and thinking about it and talking about it with your peers and your teammates and be like, do I need all these meetings? Do I need to be showing up here? Because really, when it comes down to it, we want to raise your awareness for how you're showing up throughout the days, throughout the weeks and throughout the months, but also designing rituals and routines that help support that and help you kind of just elevate your practice and your craftsmanship and your priorities and everything that you're trying to do just to have a beautiful, calm, peaceful and high performing week. So I want you to encourage that. That's the homework this week. If you did attend the sessions, the video is going to be up really soon. And if you haven't yet attended any of the next level UX trainings, there's already over eight hours of content inside the platform. So going from clarity, understanding how to write your goals and really like a framework around how to create goals and then also a framework around action planning and practice. And. And we're just going to keep going because it's 12 category. It's. I'm at my notification, I'm getting notifications about time to transition to my next, my next sync. But I just want to encourage you. Next level UX is not just about product design. It can really help engineers, can help product managers. It's all about helping makers and creators really develop a whole nother level of awareness and emotional intelligence around the things that are most important to them and making sure that you're putting in the time, the effort and developing yourself to really, you know, to really take your, take your career, take your life to that Next level ux, the next level user experience. So that's what it's all about. I can't wait to see you in the next session. We're live every first Thursday of the month. We go for an hour at 8am in the morning and then we go for an hour at 4pm in the afternoon. You know, for the different times and the different sessions throughout. So, you know, I can't wait to see you in the next one and have a beautiful rest of your day. So if you want to get, if you want to dive deep into those tactics, if you want to get training on these things, then Definitely go to NextLevelux. Me sign up. It's 50 bucks a month.
