Hey, my friend Drew Canole. Today I got a request to talk about food addiction of all sorts. I'm going to be really short and sweet to this. There's many more people that are far more qualified to talk about addiction than I am. I'll say what's worked for me and my life. And if that's cool with you, you know, big thumbs up wherever you're listening to this. Please leave a review. Let's rock and roll. So, first of all, I think I read a book once, and this was a long time ago. It was like the spirituality of weight loss, I believe it was by Marianne Williamson, who I love her work. You know, the course in miracle stuff she does. Powerful. And I realized that at the time, I was eating things to feel more satisfied in my life, to create some form of satiation, the food that I was choosing. And another book I think Deepak Chopra wrote, what are you hungry for? And they all go together, right? In this human experience, we go off and we're indoctrinated, and we have all these programs inserted upon us about where we should be, what kind of job we should have, the kind of love life we should create, all these things that are stacked onto us. And then we get, as young kids, we get put in these programs where we're like, hey, you need to get an A to be successful. And then you're going to compete against your classmates in track and field, and whoever gets first place gets a ribbon. So we're put on this treadmill at a young age, and the treadmill is so unhealthy because every human being is different, just as different as you and I. Look on the outside. Our thumbprints are completely different. Our insides are completely different. We're just different souls. We're different incarnations. We're different humans having a. An experience. And it's all great. But when we try to be other people, when we are printing ourselves off like cookie cutters, when we're all doing the same TikTok dance to get views and likes and social validation, which is a huge addiction, by the way, for many people. Porn addiction to the lower three energy centers. Addictions of various types that I've dealt with personally. And I still have addictions, guys. Now, a lot of my addictions are, you know, like, one of the things I've gotten into recently is trading, like, on stocks and stuff like that. I go on this app called Robinhood so much, I'm like, what am I doing? Like, what is all this for? Like, Drew, wake up. BE awareness. Bring Yourself. Back in the past, I have been addicted to porn. You know, I looked at porn every single day long ago. It's been a while since that. And just giving my energy away, giving my chi away. And I'm not judging, like if any man's listening to this and they're into that, like completely cool. But it's good to be aware. If you need to do something that's pulling you so much to where you couldn't live without it or you just can't do it, then there's a good chance you're probably addicted to it. So for me, another addiction that I have currently is probably a shot of espresso in the morning. God, I'm such a coffee guy. I love coffee. I could get rid of it if I do a seven day fast. Probably be miserable for three or four days, but I could definitely do it. And it's good to test your addictions out. Food addictions, physical addictions, all of this. I used to love sweets, I used to love pizza, all this comfort food from Michigan when I was a fatter cannoli than I am right now. So all these things, right? So there's a few levels to this. And I'm going to talk specifically about food addiction today. We can get into some of the other addictions later on if we want to. And again, there's people far more qualified to talk about this than I am. But what I will say is when talking food addiction, first it's good to address the spiritual stuff. It's good. Spiritual is a label, right? A lot of people use it way too much. It's just, it's the formless into form, whatever you want to call it, it's all a program anyway. So it's good to connect to soul and have a experience every day of, I believe, removing yourself from you. I think we can get caught up in being the actor or the actress instead of the director or the awareness, watching the director. And in my experience of witnessing all three, most of the time I'm still in acting state, by the way. So you and I are together. It's good to notice what happens, the thoughts, you know, when we start to pull ourselves out of the person, we can start to see our thoughts more effectively. So I like to say the first day that I was born was when I came out of the womb. The second day is when I started to see my thinking. And I believe Mark Twain wrote that or somebody in the past. But when we start to observe our thoughts, 50 to 80,000 thoughts a day, we can Start to see how it's affecting our unconscious, which is 99% of thinking anyway. So what type of thoughts are creating the projection that's in my reality? If I'm binge eating at night, if I'm drinking alcohol all the time, what kind of thoughts are creating that? And then just getting. Using retrospection to dig into it a little bit deeper. Right. Maybe it's a self worth issue. Well, Drew, you were abused, you were tortured as a kid. You believe that your mom couldn't give you love, so now you're trying to get love from everyone and everything. So you have this people pleaser thing going on. It gets real, you guys. It's a staunch look in your face, in your own eyes, to discover what's really leading and fueling your addictions. Right? I'm also one of the addictions I'm breaking is paying for everything for everyone. And I love it. I love living in abundance. I love living in complete, you know, just utter abundance. Like God has blessed me so much. But it, there's a part of this, and 90% of it, maybe 80%, if I'm being a little more truthful, is coming from love. And the other side of that is coming from this wounded little boy that likes to be liked. So I, I pay for everything to sometimes have people like me and, or control, you know, because I couldn't control anything as a kid. It's like now I know if I pay, like even guys, like friends, you know, trainers and stuff that I probably would hang out with in the regular walking day, I'm paying now because it's a little bit more control in my life and maybe you can relate to that. So these addictions we have can then go into our food because our thoughts are one thing that we can control, and what we put in our mouth is another thing. I know you've heard that before, so start on the thought level. What are the thoughts I'm having that are creating the condition in this body that I have? And I swear, your microbiota, your billions of pre and probiotic bacteria structures that are actually in your gut that send neurochemicals to your brain. 90% of the serotonin is created in your gut can actually be shifted in a second by changing your field around the thinking that comes into your physical body. So just by getting rid of the trash can mind that most of us have, we can start to elevate the serotonin, the dopamine, the different neurochemicals naturally, without needing food to do it. We're addicted to those chemicals. They're very real. You know, you eat an Oreo cookie and it's even more addictive than cocaine, right?
Like, that's nuts. It's not your fault. The world, the people that have created these foods, these addictive foods know and they spend millions of dollars every single year on how can I get more humans to consume more of this? It's just marketing. It's just a program. And they're not bad for doing this. It is what it is. It's the old paradigm. It's the brain that they're living in, the reptilian brain. And it strongholds them into creating this because it's the payoff that they're getting, obviously is fiscal compensation. And they're addicted to that. And then you have all these corporate giants that are addicted to money, and then they're addicted to control. So. And it just goes on and on. And you can see yourself in them. And as soon as you do, you have much more compassion, actually for you. And that compassion radiates. And the compassion that radiates actually changes your microbiome. I was gonna say microbut ohm.
And it starts to shift you. Now when we talk about the biology of it, there's a few things that can start to shift it immediately, and that is hydration. Most people are chronically hydrated. So drinking water every single day, lots of water. There's a water app, I think it's actually called Water. And it will start to track how much water you have. Depending on where you live, you may need to increase the water. Right now I'm in Sedona in the high desert. So I literally drink a half a gallon more, at least per day because it's so dry here. I'm like a sea being. I'm a merman. I love being by the ocean. And now I'm up in the high desert, so I get to drink a lot more water. Water. And it's just good for my body. So hydration is key. If you find yourself not eating throughout the day and then all of a sudden binge eating at night, all this food. Well, your blood sugar is the name of the game, especially when it comes to regulating energy. When it comes to regulating your cravings and your hunger, you should never really be hungry unless it's intentional. Unless I'm doing a fast. Unless I know that the payoff is more brain fuel, more neurochemicals, neurosynapsis to the prefrontal cortex. If I want to get into a flow state, I know That I just do better with a light stomach. Your digestion works all day long, all night long for most people, right? It's like having a gardener out in your garden digging for days without giving them a break. So when we give our digestion a break, we actually get a lot more energy. And that energy we can use for our soul's purpose. What we want to create in the world impact all these beautiful things. But it takes recognizing that in the first place. So water is key. Your mineral content is key. So some people are chronically deprived of magnesium. It's not in our soil like it used to be. And it's responsible for, I believe, three to 400 biochemical transactions in the human body, which is super powerful. And that's just your physical body. There's a reason a lot of these minerals can actually help with your magnetic body, your light body, all these things. We are electrical beings, right in nature. We're magnetic beings in nature. So likened to your body, the earth is like that. So as above, so below, it's important to make sure your minerals, your water content is key. And then your aminos, right? Aminos are another thing that most people don't even think about. Trace aminos. Ben Greenfield has a wonderful product, Kion trace minerals. And also there's glutamine, which can help subside some of the sugar. You're craving chocolate. Usually it's a magnesium thing. You're craving carbs. I believe that's a lacking serotonin thing. And you know, exercise, it's key. So we got the hydration, we got the minerals, we got the aminos, we got exercise. Because when we start working out, we get some of those positive neurochemicals without needing to feed ourselves. And it literally could be walking around the block or doing sprints for 10 minutes a day. It doesn't have to be a lot. Then we start to build up momentum, we start to build up willpower, we start to build up consistency. Discipline is the greatest act of self love we could ever ask for ourselves. Because discipline keeps us in alignment with our mission, with our movement and what we're here to do on the planet. So how can I have discipline? How can I be a disciple of the highest version of myself in every moment looking at our thoughts. Right, we talked about that up front. Using the biology and the tools that I've outlined in this can radically start to shift our addiction in the may be an emotional catharsis for you, my friend. So maybe now's not the time, but really dig into what is causing Me to be addicted. And with the real me, my soul, the inner knowing, whatever you want to call it. What would it say about me?
Right? You are more than worthy. You are more than capable. You exist. Your purpose hasn't been fulfilled because you're breathing.
Know this. You can feel it in your body. You're here. You're present. You're safe. A lot of people don't feel safe because of past situations that have happened. Trauma, torture, sexual abuse, rape. All these things. So we eat to push people away. We build a bridge that's bigger around our body so that people can't get in. And when we realize that they're not separate from us, they're just the projection. They're just part of us. That oneness. Right? Then we can really start to analyze our thinking so that the projector starts to shift and change in our reality starts to. To manifest differently, if we want to call it that. It's beyond words, what I'm talking about. And I know you're feeling it. I hope you are again. There's people far more qualified to talk about addiction. I wanted to come at it from my perspective. And I'm still battling you guys. I'm still out here. It's. It's work. It's not easy, right? We're in Earth school for a reason. We're getting messages, and we're helping other people with what they're doing. More you and I wake up, the more people we can help, which is the goal. We really are in this together. If you're dealing with an addiction, there's a good chance that I'm dealing with it right now too. Or I've dealt with it and everybody. You know, you get on an elevator, if there's eight people on there, they're all going through the same thing. And that's what makes this so beautiful. Right? You're not separate. You're not off on an island. No man is an island. No woman is an island. We're here. We're in this together. I believe community is one of the highest vibrations we can have right now. Celebration. Right? So if there was a last thing that I would say about breaking addiction, it's celebrating that it's already broken now. In the eternal now moment. And you are free from it. And that freedom is reigning in every cell. It's. The codes are dropping if we want to say that. And you're just feeling it.
So breathe in that celebration frequency. Your breath will take you where you need to go. Track it. Look at your thoughts. Hydrate minerals. Aminos glutamine. Right. Will help with some of those cravings. And there's eating more regularly. Looking at your blood sugar. I know I mentioned a few things. Ben Greenfield's Aminos organifi helps with all this. Obviously, you guys alkalizing your body is going to help with all this. Sometimes we crave what's worse for us. You know, what intestinal issue we have or what microbiome disruption we actually have. We're craving the food, food that's harming us the most. Parasites will do that too. So maybe there's a parasite thing going on, but this is not to be taken lightly. This is massive. The more you can free yourself from these. These mortal addictions, the more you. The more energy you'll have to express your infinite nature that's already in you. So this is. It's profound. It's simple too. I think I wanted to keep it simple. There's probably 20 other things we could look at. I. If I was you and you're dealing with addiction on a really strong level with food, I would look at maybe hiring a nutritionist, hold you accountable, maybe joining the community. We have a community at Organifi where we hold people accountable as well. We have coaches on the phone all day. So call in, let them know, be vulnerable. Tell them the addictions that you're dealing with. Right. And we really are in this together. You can. Guys, hopefully this was helpful. I know it was for me just to say and share what I'm addicted to, some of the addictions that I've had in the past, and what I'm addicted to today. I'd love to hear from you. If you've listened to this and you see an Instagram post in regards to this, leave a comment below. Let's start a conversation around it, because the conversation will break those chains and we'll be free. The more freedom we can express together, the more powerful we can be become at shifting the planet in a positive orientation. So much love. Yeah, that's about it. Please leave a review on Amazon. You guys, I give away organifi green juice once a week for a review just because I want. I love feedback. I'm a feedback junkie. Even if it's bad, leave it. Because I believe sometimes even the worst feedback is the greatest feedback for us, can open things up. So send me a message on Instagram and let me know. Anyway, much love. We're in this together. See you soon.
