This is how to be healthy in business, as an entrepreneur, as somebody who's investing a lot of time in their company, how to maintain your health. So let's talk about it in Today's show. Flashback. Fifteen years ago, I was 40 pounds overweight. I was out of shape, I was lethargic, I was tired. Every day I was grinding, grinding, hustling, hustling. And I was working myself into oblivion to try to make it, quote, unquote, like so many people, so many entrepreneurs do today, we sacrifice our health for more money. And then when we get the money, then we don't have our health. So we're always chasing after something. And this is the biggest shortcut that you could ever possibly imagine in your life, if you're just starting out, you're a new entrepreneur, is to actually focus holistically, on balance. First, and I'm going to show you in this podcast at least five tried and true ways to enhance your overall vitality and health while running a business successfully, like I have done. But it was a dark journey for a while. There was every day checking into the office at 6:00am and leaving at sometimes 8 to 10:00 clock at night to do it over again. It was like Groundhog's Day. The weekend was my only break. And on the weekend, guess what I did because I was so mentally frustrated, I was so emotionally burnt out, I would go to the bar and I would drink myself into oblivion. I was an addict of anything to escape the miserable life that I was building, to chase the almighty dollar. Can you imagine a drew like that?
That was me. It's hard to believe that I've shifted my identity so much throughout this process. And I'm going to give you the keys to the kingdom in this podcast, step by step, I'm going to show you how I did it. It's going to be hard to do, so bear with me here. And at the end of it, if you get value, make sure you subscribe to this podcast. Make sure you go over to itunes. We're a new launching this new podcast on this platform and we're getting it in front of as many people as possible. That's the goal. So help me help the world, my friend. We're in this together.
So essentially, if you flashback to that guy, he was living over in Tampa, Florida, and my environment was disheveled. I didn't do my dishes, my environment was a mess. My closet wasn't organized, that was a mess. And my friends, my friends were my biggest advocates for having that weekend binge Drinking and everything else. So when we shift our environment, when we shift the environment of our house, when we start to clean up more effectively, when we have our closet ready, if I need to travel somewhere now, I can go in my closet and everything's already packed, everything's already folded, and everything's already dry cleaned if I'm traveling or speaking or something like that. So environment is everything, the environment of your house, because your house, and especially if you're a woman, because your brain is much more active than us men, you have more thoughts and there's more physical objects that connect energetically to you when you walk in your house. A guy walks into a house and he just sees the coffee machine and he's in the kitchen and he sees the stove and whatnot. Woman walks into the kitchen and all of a sudden the coffee machine's talking to her. Wow, you need a cup of coffee. The stove, hey, there's dirt around me. You need to clean this up real quick. So a woman's much more active, right? The cleaner it is. Cleanliness is godliness. Cleanliness is order. Order is the first law of heaven. So to have heaven or harmony as we could call it, you got to clean it up. So if you're making anything more than a housekeeper makes and you have enough to, to afford a housekeeper, I highly recommend doing that for yourself. To change your environment. As an entrepreneur. I would have a housekeeper long before I had a personal assistant. It's just what I did. So environment and then moving on to the friend thing. If you think about your five closest friends, right, they say your five friends are the. You're the average of. Who are your friends? How are they building you up? How are they pouring life? How are they pouring vitality into you? How are they inspiring you? And if they're not. If you answered this question on a scale of 1 to 10, and any of your friends are like around a 5 or a 6, you need to have a breakup or a talk, an intervention, and let them know what's more important to you. Let them know what you're looking to create in your life. Enroll them in your vision for your life. So maybe it's a simple conversation or maybe you get to reevaluate the relationship altogether. And that goes for intimate relationships. If you're in an intimate relationship and you're stuck, you're in this toxic environment, then that's not helpful at all. You get to re examine that because that's the environment of your friendships and then the environment of your mind. Of course, what Are you putting into your mind? Is it Netflix and chillin? Is it TikTok dancing for hours on end? Is it not a lot of value in your consciousness? And if that's the case, how can we start to shift that? How can we paint a new mental landscape for you, One that is ripe with vitality and the vividness of this juicy world, this life that we get to fully live. And if you're not stepping into that, if you're not pouring in new water to nourish the seeds of your own consciousness, then you're letting it slip by. Or you're just living the average mundane TikTok world that most of humanity is stuck in at this time. So what can you do every day to change the environment of your mind? In the beginning, I put sticky notes everywhere. I laid piles of cash, coins, quarters, hundred dollar bills all over my house to impress upon my mind that money was easy to make. I put notes on my bathroom mirror. You are worthy. And I would do mirror work. I'd look at Drew in the eyes and I would tell him how important he was to me. I said Drew in third person. I don't know why I did that. That's a little weird. But yeah, I would do all this inner mind work. And I think that's so important to maintain our health physically, right? Literally every thing you speak is a wish to your cells in your body. It's light codes entering your field, disseminated by your organs, disseminated by your blood, your tissue, your bones, your skeletal system, your nervous system. So making sure that you're pouring in that positive mental attitude, you're picking yourself up because you came into this world alone and you're going to leave it alone. So you might as well enjoy the ride with you. You might as well take care of this precious multi dimensional meat suit that you have on right now. Pinch yourself if you're in the car, if you're walking around in your house or you're at the gym, pinch yourself on the chest and say, hey, thank you. Multi dimensional suit. You are really awesome. I know maybe I haven't taken great care of you, but from now on I am just do that, see how that feels. And then pay attention to your thinking and start to take better care of your physical mental health. So that's a big thing. And then next up, I would say maintaining the health as you go on as an entrepreneur is to set very strict boundaries of your environment. And how do we do that? Most people are afraid to set boundaries. They get hung up on Doing it. Most people are yes men and yes women. They say yes to everything. They don't have boundaries. And you say yes so much, you're actually saying no to yourself. So what kind of boundaries can we set up for your time? And especially with all these apps, you got Clubhouse and Instagram and Facebook, people just wake up and they jump on an app. I believe the greatest time that we have throughout the days in the morning, how you start your morning is how you start your life. I did a podcast on my morning ritual. Highly recommend you guys listen to that. Super, super potent, super powerful. So the morning ritual changed my life. I went from the guy that was 40 pounds overweight. I set a goal that seemed impossible. I wanted to lose £40 in 90 days. I put it out to the world what I wanted to create. I filmed a video and I posted on YouTube and Facebook and I sent it to my closest family members and friends. And when I sent that out there, it was a commitment to me. And I didn't want to let myself down because there was many times before that that I let myself down. My word really didn't mean anything. My word was crap. So I had to reestablish the integrity with myself. And I did that by filming the video and sticking to my physical transformation. This was 11 years ago when I started FitLife TV. And every day for the next 90 days, I did my morning ritual. I got my positive mental attitude correct. I worked on the environment first. I knew that the environment would change everything and move me up. Dilt's pyramid, which is the logical level pyramid for identity change. I knew that my beliefs had to shift before my identity did. So that subconscious work that we get to do, the sticky notes in the bathroom, the reading the books, Psycho cybernetics, right? Reading all these books to put myself in a different state altogether, to shift my identity. And eventually I started living from a state of already being. And then when I was being it, I started living from a place of knowing. Knowing that I knew how to have physical transformation, knowing that I knew I had physical dominion over my body. And all these things. I naturally started to choose. Healthier food, high vibrating fruits and vegetables, things that would pour life into the cells, the mitochondria of my body, the microbiota in my gut. And I loved it, because the more I did this, the more energy I had to impact other people's lives. So day by day, over the next 90 days, I noticed a really distinct thing. Work became much easier. It was no longer something I had to do. It just was something that I was. It was no longer working. It wasn't a nine to, you know, nine o' clock at night job anymore, or even earlier on some days. It wasn't any of that. I was fueled by my passion and my purpose. So many times as entrepreneurs, we do things that we don't really love to do, and we do it for a month and we do it for a year, then we do it for 10 years, then we do it for 50 years. And by the time we retire, we lived a life that we didn't really love and it wasn't authentic to us. And I think part of.
Having optimal health as an entrepreneur is doing what you love every single day. And that begets a big question. Are you doing what you love? Are you living with your soul's purpose and desire? Are you living with intent every single day for what you're creating and who you're impacting? Impacting. And if you're not, maybe you get to make a better choice. So at the time, 11 years ago, I was running a credit and debt company. I didn't love it. I liked making money from it. I made really good money. But I just didn't love focusing so much on that. So I was able to reinvent myself and let go of everything that I thought. And I knew if I just committed myself day in and day out to helping other people, that the rest would follow. And soon enough, more people I helped. The more my physical transformation took place, the more my body shifted, the more energy that I had for business. It's amazing how that works. It's like stress leaves you. When you're focusing out, when you're in doubt, focus out. When we're hung up on who we are and what we're doing in the world, we can get a little too serious. So back then, it was all about breaking the spell of seriousness. It was about living with radical joy. I'm a joy junkie. I chase it down every moment. I'm looking for more joy, for more awe. And I think that's one of the things that benefits my health so much. At the end of the day, I'm analyzing it. How much joy did I get to experience? How good did I get to take it? What did I really like? What was the highlight? What's the gratitude? And before I drift off to sleep, I'm telling my subconscious mind that I want to sleep. I'm telling my subconscious mind how long I want to sleep. Subconscious. I'll have eight hours of sleep tonight. I'd like to wake up Feeling refreshed, restored, rejuvenated. I'd like to have unlimited energy when I wake up tomorrow morning knowing that I'm on purpose and on track. I'd love my cells and my body to restore themselves. I'd love my vision for when I wake up to be crystal clear so that I can impart words that impact and empower other people. I really love knowing that I make a difference in other people's lives. So I'm saying these things before I go to bed, and as I lay down, all of this synchronicities of the universe are aligning them to the words that I'm speaking. And I believe a healthy, whole human being, when they speak, they know that it's powerful. They know that they're casting spells with their words. So that's one of the things like, what are you saying about yourself? Are you stuck in the doom and gloom? Are you looking at things through the lens of not possible? And if that's the case, then re examine even the language that you use, because that's another level. How you explain how you show up, how you connect to other people. Are you present? Are you offering them presents? It's a gift to be in union with you at this time. Cherish yourself, hold yourself so high that the rest of the world sees that the rest of the world embodies that they feel your vibration. When we start doing that collectively, when we go through these individual transformations, then we can transform the world. But it really takes you going within, so that's a big thing as well. Now, I know we've gone over a lot, right? We've discovered. And we went through the environment. We went through the environment of your friends, your relationships, the people closest to you. We talked about the mind. We dove deep down into mindset and how that can actually help you shift how your cells are responding to the very nature of what in the future. And I have a book I wrote. It's called the Whydentity Process. I think I removed it from Amazon when I published Ubu from Hay House because there was some overlapping information. But I'd love to put some notes in regards to that here too. So we talked about maintaining your health as well in the aspect of boundaries. I think that's ever so important today. I think it's one of the things that's missing with a lot of people, is actually creating effective boundaries. You know, how to say no when you have been a yesitarian your whole entire life. Go into no man's land or no woman's land, and One of the things I did is I went an entire week and I said no to absolutely everything just to understand the power that you have with your decision making skills. And it felt terrible for me the first day. I was so used to lighting people up with my yeses. Like the movie, right? Jim Carrey, yes, man. But at the end of the day, if we're not setting effective boundaries and that can kick us in the health button later on, we build up resentment. When we don't set boundaries, we build up bitterness and all that forms in the body later on. So my goal for you is to wake you up from feeling resentment, from feeling bitterness from what you're doing, so that it actually uplifts you out of any state that could be coming in the future. From the multidimensional aspect of you, you. We also talked about language and how important it is to speak as if you were talking to the love of your life. To you. I think that's one thing that's broken today is so many people are just trashing on themselves all day long. And if you really knew how powerful you were, if you really knew how much love there is for you in this time and space now, then you would never speak like that over yourself ever again. You are so important and you're so valuable. You're valuable to me, you're valuable to your family. What you do makes a difference in every single person's life you come in contact with. The fact that you're breathing means that your purpose hasn't been fulfilled. It means that there's still something more for you, my friend. There's a bunch of other health hacks that I do personally. There's biohacks, there's different technologies, there's machines. I'm tracking my HRV every day, I'm looking at my glucose. There's a lot of really cool things that I do. But if you don't have the fundamentals down, if you are wandering in your mind all day, you're not focused, your house is messed up. These are the basics, right? These are the things that allow you to cultivate the atmosphere of abundance, to bring in some, some of these other technologies to actually implement in your life and make a difference. My biggest thing, like I said again, if you haven't listened to morning ritual, one, check it out. Super, super important to get on that, to do it every single day, to form the habit of pouring into yourself, because it's easy to get lost in the chase, in the pursuit of things. And when we're chasing things, we're a human doing, but when we're a human being, those things start to chase us, and it's a lot less stressful. I will say, in my personal experience, it's a lot easier. There's great ease in this. There's great serenity and grace. So to develop that, the rituals in place to pour into yourself, to set an alert on your phone four times a day. And it's really easy. You just say, hey, Siri, can you remind me in four hours to pour into me? Take a break. And then all of a sudden, every four hours, hey, you got to pour into yourself, because you can only pour from a saucer that's on the edge of the cup. Your cup has to be full, my friend. I know that's a meme. I think it's a meme on Instagram. We're just gonna meme drop for the rest of this time. What do you guys think? We're not gonna do that anyway. Yeah, you gotta pour into yourself daily, and sometimes it takes reminding you of how great you are. So when you start doing that, the whole universe will align itself to the very nature of your breath, my friend. Everything will get a lot easier. Your health will come into much more alignment. Because now, once you've awakened your mind, you've aligned your body.
And you've activated your soul. You do this every single day. Then you have alignment as a whole. Being going through this rock at 80,000 miles an hour on a around a giant fireball with more dominion of what's happening in your life, and that's a powerful place to be. So my hope for you is that you got at least one thing out of this podcast, that there was a message in here that you're going to apply. Apply. None of this matters if you're just going to take the information and go into more information. Overload, analysis, paralysis. I don't know what to do. Right. So take one thing, my friend. Apply it. Because in 30 days, if you just do one thing, it will radically transform your life. Cascading effect. That's how it works over and over. One thing you do, it will transform your life. So make sure the one thing you do today is to take care of you. So guess what? Just remember that you're amazing and the world loves you. So love you, take care of you. You're beautiful, Drew. And you, we're in this together. Talk.
It.
