All right, all right, all right, my friend. Welcome to the Drew and you Show. I'm your host, Drew Canole, and today I want to talk about procrastination. Are you a procrastinator? Are you overwhelmed? Are you afraid of doing things that you really want to do because of failure? Are you afraid to really go out on the edge with certain things and goals that you have in your life because you're afraid of your own light, like Marianne Williams said back in the day? Or are you just simply procrastinating because you don't have concrete goals, things to go after and all? There's a whole myriad of different reasons as to why a human being will procrastinate. In my experience, the number one thing that I love to do is I love to go into the mindset of the person and understand why they're doing what they're doing and then understand why they want in the future, what it is that they're setting out to get. So I guide them through a process that I talk about in Ubu, the book that I wrote, one of them, and it's called the widenity process. We have to identify ourselves, and when we do that, we have this power, purposeful, impactful, why we're living our life. We can break our life down into micro goals. Or as the book Compound Effect I read back in the day, Atomic Habits is another great book in regards to this. It's all about setting habits for success, removing any obstacles that could interfere or get in your way with actually accomplishing the goal. Anyway, we all have those things, right? I'm just going to watch one show on Netflix. Before you know it, two days into it, you got all this fast food leftover stuff on your couch. Then like four marathons.
Maybe not that extreme, but you get the point. There's all kinds of distractions. Tell a vision. Tell me. Telling you a vision, that's not even yours. You got Netflix, you got Instagram, the Insta drug. You go to the feed. Are you some kind of cattle getting your nutrients from social media? Or are you the creator and the master and the sovereign being of your own life? That's the question. What do you want to create? There's a lot of cookie cutters out there in the world today. People that are doing things that even they'd probably, if they were able to ask their self, drop into a theta state, they wouldn't be doing anyway. So there's this mind virus. The ancient indigenous people used to call this Watiko, I think is the name for it. And that's the mind virus that's plaguing the planet right now, where people are kind of going mad. And this procrastination virus, this program, we could call it a program, is running rampant. So it's robbing men of enthusiasm and joy and women. It's making people stay at home and afraid to go out and socialize with people that could be dream business partners, dream relationship people. Because of this mind virus, they're procrastinating on connection, right? Really being what I've been saying for the past 11 years, we're in this together. And anything that can separate you from a human being right now and isolate you is actually taking away from your prana, your life force, your chi, from a collective, energetic standpoint. So what I would say, number one, would be to do the whydanity process. You can find that in the book Ubu. I'm basically guiding you through different questions. Why do you want this goal? What is it? Why is it so important to you? What do you want to hear from your friends a month from now? 60 days. And it's a whole journaling exercise. Like, you go into this, it's pretty deep. Most of the time, people cry. They have massive breakthroughs when they realize that the core driver underneath it all is something that's so moving, so emotional, so powerful, that it propels you forward. And I believe in documenting it too, whatever it is, recording it on video and then making statements as if it's already happened in the future. I do this collectively in the organifi culture, where we have different meetings and whatnot, we'll have our whole C suite or our directors talk about what we've created in the future. And we do this often because you can bring your field into the present moment when you really feel into the goals that you have. And it's easier when there's two or more people, right? So believing in that old ancient adage as well is super powerful. So the identity process, getting clear on your goals, removing the obstacles that are in the way, and then maybe free writing for the next 30 days. Why do you have such an aversion to failure? Your relationship to failure is ruling your life. So you're afraid to really go out on the edge and risk and do the things that you know need to be done. So back in the day in middle school and high school and even college, I would wait to the last minute to write my papers, to study for a test, and luckily I was smart enough to just get by, you know, I wasn't an A student I didn't get a 4.0, but I carried Bs and Cs and I didn't really study at all. It was easy. School was easy for me. I spent more time socializing, connecting with other humans. I was also running three businesses in college, and I was doing all these other things. But on some level, there was an area of procrastination. If I would have just spent a little bit more time trying, I could have done a lot better. Now, knowing what I know now about school, about the educational system, my intuition was guiding me. And there's a reason, probably why I didn't really go down the rabbit hole of monotonous memorization techniques. I'd rather stay in my creativity and really be an inventor and create as an artist versus memorizing certain things that I probably won't remember 20, 30, 40 years from now anyway. So there's that right not to validate that. That's just an example of procrastination. I did it a lot. And fear of failure. You know, I remember there was a time when I was running track and I was up against these two just beasts in a state competition for doing hurdles, right? And I did like five events. I went to a school where if you were an athlete, you participated in every, every sport available just because they needed bodies. So there wasn't this specialization of one sport where I grew up. Because of that, I was good at a lot of things, but I wasn't really a master of one thing. And I was going up against masters, people, bigger schools to where they would just practice one thing all the time, and I. I was going to get smoked. I knew it. So instead of letting myself get smoked, you know what I did? This is embarrassing to admit on a podcast, by the way. I semi faked an injury. Terrible, right? You would think instead of going all out, instead of trying my hardest, I'm like, you know what? I don't want it to look like I lost based on athleticism. I'm gonna lose on this injury. So my hamstring was a little tight that day, and I literally just bailed out. So procrastination. I still remember it like it was yesterday. Had I gone all out, had I played all the cards that I had in my deck that day, I probably would have felt a lot better because those small things eat at us. They eat at your soul. And the more you do it, I believe the more you lose your personal power. So I'm all about playing all out now and leveling up. It's only taken me, 40 years on this rock going 80,000 miles an hour to get to this point. So super important, my friend, to, you know, play all out. And what are you playing for? We procrastinate for the silliest things. So what is it in your life that you've been putting off? What do you want to create?
And how can you get enough emotional energy to really go after it? Another thing I do is I like to build up momentum in regards to the goals that I have. So whatever is fun, whatever puts me in a good high vibrational state, I'll do that before the thing that I'm dreading, just to put me in a good mood before I go into it. Or if I have calls, right? If I have calls about Excel spreadsheets and some of this left brain monotonous stuff that I don't really enjoy. And there's a bunch of people that love that stuff, which I care about those people very much because they help run the organization and the business and everything we're creating in the world. But for me, it's not really my favorite thing. So what I will do is I'll either set up the healing room, light some candles, light an incense, make it really nice, like, change my environment. Maybe I'll sit in the bathtub with some Epsom salt, and then I'll take those calls so that it's a relaxing environment. As I take things that I don't really look forward to. I'm kind of dreading it, actually. It's like. And there's only few of those things that I have in my life right now that I actually don't look forward to because I've gone my whole entire past 11 years saying, hey, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you love this? How much do you load this? Do you want to do this tomorrow? And if I don't? If the answer is no, then I either find somebody to do it that loves it, or I change the environment like we talked about. So if you're procrastinating something because you don't love it, maybe there's somebody that will. You can outsource it. And how good does that feel in your body? We're constantly checking in, we're tuning into our body as we go throughout this because that's going to give you guidance that's beyond the mind, because the mind will try to make you believe that it's actually something that you like, something that you need to do right? And that's not true. We're not human doings. We're human beings. So the more we can be in the positive state now, in this eternal now moment, the easier it is to do the things and find somebody to do the things for you. More specifically, especially in business. And there's ways in relationship, right? If you're afraid to ask for what you want, what you need, what you desire in the relationship, and you're continuously doing things that are out of the parameters of what you actually enjoy, then you're just going to build up resentment and bitterness and you're going to blame it on your partner, right? And that blame, that resentment, that bitterness that you blame on your partner is actually the thing that's tearing your partnership apart. And how much easier would it be to introduce it in such a way to where, hey, I would really love some support in regards to this one thing, and they would love to support you, but because you're too afraid to ask, you've been so conditioned to be the lone wolf, doing things on your own and making up stories about what it means if, if you don't do this thing because you've been programmed to do, to be the human doer, right? It's taking you out of that state. So I promise you, the more you ask, the more you delegate, the more you figure out what lights your own soul on fire, the easier your life will become. You'll literally be walking around as if you're in a dream. And the dream that you created is one that you've been the architect the whole entire time, witnessing it and feeling so much more love versus periodic times of feeling less than, feeling low self worth because you're labeling yourself as a procrastinator and it's just something that you don't want to do, period.
So there's that aspect of procrastination which is probably one of the biggest ones, right? So then the question is, how can I make money doing what I love in my life? Because that's going to bring my soul alive, that's going to bring me more joy, more enthusiasm, and enthusiasm to move with God is going to be attractive to other human beings. Because human beings at this time, the most powerful thing that they can witness is another human being that's coming alive, that's connected to their soul, that's fully awake, that's fully aware. And that, my friend, is what creates missions, that's what creates movements, that's what creates change on this planet. Right now, when we plug into that, that soul's alignment, that harmony, there can be no procrastination because you're a walking conduit of source. You're literally just a vessel in disguise as the human meat suit that's just carrying out the message as a commuter from beyond this time and space. And I think that's a really powerful come from. At least in my own life, that's what's worked for me. It's like, how can I serve you, God? How can I? It's not my will, but thy will, right? What can I do for you? Who needs to be touched, moved and inspired today? And then you just go throughout your day awake and the dream, the dream of the sleeper's day. You wake up in that you're. You're living a lucid life. You're like it likened to waking up in a lucid dream. You can wake up in this living, lucid living. And procrastination will be a thing of the past. So just my rant on procrastination today, my friend. If you're struggling with it, I get it. I would say 98% of people are struggling with procrastination. Especially now when there's more fear in your body, when there's more trauma in your body, when there's biological blocks, when there's heavy metals in your brain that are causing more heat for the neurosynapsis of different crossovers and wiring. I mean, you just become slower, right? So then there's the whole talk of how do we cleanse the biological system in this multidimensional suit so that we actually have more energy and more motivation to go after the things that we love. And that can be a whole nother podcast today. I just wanted to get on here and talk about the why. You know, your purpose, playing it out in the future, connecting you back into your soul's vision with alignment, coming alive for the things that you really love versus doing the things that you loathe. And then procrastination will be looked at from a very high level. So take some time journal about this today. Where am I procrastinating? What makes me come alive? Get the book Ubu. Check that out. We'll go over some common limitations and setbacks in the book as well. The way people self sabotage. I'm gonna do another podcast in the future about self sabotage behavior. I got it right. Can't believe I shared my track story with you.
Don't give me too much of a hard time if you ever see me in person. Right? We all have those stories. Come on, Drew. And remember, we're in this together. We'll see you soon.
