Hey, guys. Drew Canole. Welcome to the Drew and you Show. I'm your host, Drew Canole. I am ecstatic about today's episode. We're talking about meditation and what to do if meditation is hard for you. So back in the day, meditation was extremely difficult for me. I was in my head so much, I didn't know even who Drew was. I was so wrapped up in my own egoic structures of the reality that I created in the program. And it was hard for me to flex those meditation muscles over time, though, through setting powerful intentions about already being a meditator, not having to prove that I was one, because proving was a wound that I had. And I just wanted to, you know, prove that I could do it. You know, like a thing that you do versus a way that you be. And being is far more powerful than doing always. So I already declared that I was great at meditating, that there were certain things that I would do throughout the day that were meditation. Call it a flow state, call it, you know, playing my guitar, being on my skateboard. Whatever brings you joy in the moment and pulls you to the present moment. The eternal now space. I would consider actually meditation, because meditation muscles are developed when there's no mind presence, right? So the mind will actually stronghold you into believing that it's running the show. And when you're in your head, how much power do you think that you hold? When you're in your head all day, right? Or if you're operating out of the eternal now in your heart, how much power do you think you hold? So although meditation may not sound like something you want to do every single day because you don't know what the payoff will be, I assure you, the payoff is beyond anything you could ever imagine. And it's not about getting anything. So you have to remove yourself from that state of consciousness. If I meditate, I'm going to get something. It's not. It's a. It's an experience that you get to have to enjoy. It's a commuter returning home. It's a reminder of who you truly are beyond this time and space. It's an emptying of the physical 3D body, the vessel. So people that are in chronic pain, it's a break from it, right? Because you're literally leaving a space of the body. You're entering a completely different dimension. And I believe the more access we have to these other realms and dimensions, the more we can actually wake up in the one that we're in right now. Call it earth, call it home. And it's a beautiful place to be when we're in a state of constant meditation versus feeling like we have to meditate every day because it's whatever Yogi is doing. And it's the cool thing to do on Instagram. And I'm going to post about it and I'm going to play my sound bowls and I'm just going to show people how woke I am. And that's all bs so you don't do it for anybody else but yourself. In fact, I believe significance in the world is running so strong right now. We feel significant through what we're doing. And we've been in this program that has created this feeling of significance through the likes we get on social media, through the people that follow us through, through the people we have on our podcast, the interviews that we do, through the people we're connected to, through the things that we own. And those are all just cages of the mind. They stronghold you into the mortal man and woman versus the immortal truth of being in which you already are. So significance is something that through meditation, you start to release and you start remembering that you're not separate from anybody, that you are everyone and everything. I believe meditation allows me greater access to that. So when I'm walking in the forest, it's no longer this lonely man on an island likened to the book Thomas Merton wrote. It's literally, Drew is in the woods communing with all aspects of life. The tree is no longer a tree. The tree is life. The deer is no longer a deer. The deer is life. Drew is no longer this man in America. He is life. And through life, we connect and commune with all life. And when we're in meditation like that, we remember and we wake up to that fact. And then when you're one with life, then the world becomes a much friendlier place. Resistance goes down. Stress starts to leave your body, cortisol starts to drop. And when we're not stressed out, when all those stress hormones leave the mind, they start to leave the body. Gateways of possibility start to open up for you when you're in this state of consistent meditation. Eyes open, viewing the world as if it's the first time and the last time you'll ever see it. I believe meditation is a state of being. It's not something that I do. And I'm consistently working on being in meditation more and re remembering who I truly am. Because when. When I eject myself out of this physical vehicle, this cage, the multidimensional aspect of me opens up. I connect the big you to the universe. Right? The universe of Drew opens up, and I connect to the whole entire cosmos through that. So information, insights come to me when I realize what meditation is opening up for in my life. When you're in that meditation and you're coming out of it, you can also set some super powerful intentions for the day. And those intentions, some would say, create tension in your body. Intention creates tension. To be intentionalist is a really powerful place to be. But also, I think there's a certain level of magic when we have an intention for what we'd like to do, what we'd like to create, we'd like to help where we'd like to go. And coming back as the commuter in the physical body is an easy way to do that because it's the feeling of wholeness. Now, I believe right now there's this lack of wholeness in the general population and the consciousness, and it's not our fault. Right? I have relatives, intermediate relatives, people that are close to me in my family that have forgotten who they are. There's people that I know that have committed suicide 30 years ago, but they're still in their body. They don't want to be here. And, you know, those people, too. So the reason I'm sharing this with you is when we meditate, it allows us to return home. It allows the. On the. It allows us to process from the field versus the material of what's true for us, what's true for the reality, and allows us to come back. So I do think meditation is one of the greatest miracles on the planet. And there's a reason every ancient text talks about it far beyond anything that science is now proving. I mean, science is now proving, you know, through quantum entanglement and quantum theory and quantum physics and all these things, how great it is. And there's the dual split experiment and these other things that are happening. Heart math is now proving through heart coherence, the intention experiment. Great book by Lynn Mataggart. How what we think we could think about our house plant 2,000 miles away and hooked up to a polygraph machine, it'll start to spike based on the thoughts that we have. So it isn't any wonder. The more in control we are of our mind and using our mind as a tool, and the more we start to see the programs that have been laid out on us like all these are just programs. We're in this program. We can start to break free from the restrictions of the program, the matrix, whatever you want to call it, that it holds on us.
So you are powerful beyond measure. You are an infinite being. You no longer are a mortal mind rolling the earth as a lonely soul. You are all life. You are connected to the cosmos. Like I said, every single piece of life on this planet is you. There's no difference. And coming into that, once that settles in your body and starts to feel like home, I think that's a really, really powerful place to be.
So with that being said, I would say.
And I know I said a lot in this short amount of time, but knowing that meditation holds many keys for you, even beyond if you're. If you're a meditator and you've been doing it, the practice continues. Knowing that it's not something you do. It's a state of being. It's recognizing that your mind is a tool and your mind can't control you. You give it the power through the thoughts that you have. And when you observe it as the witness, then you are no longer the actor stuck in reaction. You're actually the director. And you have the ability to respond. And responding is much more powerful. A great book in regards to that would be Ken Keys, Handbook to Higher Consciousness. I read it. It's book written in the 1970s, super powerful. I don't even think it's in print anymore. But we'll leave that in the show notes and it'll give you exercises. There's actually a workbook that comes with it that's super powerful as well. That was helpful in recognizing my own thought patterns and my own addictions. Right? We have addictions as human beings that will keep us plugged into the program and running in circles. Like I said, significance is one of the big things that I'm seeing right now. We want to be significant. We want to be better than our neighbor. And really, the whole goal is to love your neighbor as yourself, I believe, and to love God and to see God in everything, even in the most distressful situations. How can I see God now in the homeless man that's on the street that's begging for money? I see God in that. I see Jesus in disguise everywhere I go, right? I see Buddha in disguise. And to view the world like that, your perception will shift the reception. It'll start to change everything. And being in a constant state of meditation, you realize that what used to trigger you no longer triggers you at all. You become triggerless. And I think that's what the great monks and the sages and the mystics of the past and future are showing us in this space now. So I'VE learned a lot from Maidan over the past 13 years. Working with him and having him tell me that the most powerful place to be is in this present moment. And when you go outside and you connect to the trees and you connect to the rocks and you connect to the living creatures and you come into your heart, that's the most powerful place. And I never understood what he was telling me, even though he told me probably 100 times because I'm a little dense. And I really started to practice that. It radically transformed my life, and I'm still doing it. There's deeper connection to all life that I'm doing in every day. And with that being said, thank you for listening to this episode of the Drew and you Podcast. Much love coming to you.
