44: The Impact of Your Friendship Circle
25 Aug 2021 · 11 min
A short podcast by Drew Canole about how one’s friendship circle and broader environment set a person’s ‘vibrational’ limits and habit patterns. Canole argues most habits are unconscious and that to get new results you must intentionally change your social/environmental field — e.g., add higher-vibe friends, seek mentors, or ‘fire’ circles that no longer serve you. He gives practical steps (daily retrospection using intuition, sensing with the five senses, writing the top 10–50 desired qualities for friends/mentors/lovers) and shares personal anecdotes (finding a mentor via unlikely ad response; failed bathroom-stall ads costing about $2,800). The episode closes with spiritual framing (frequency, Power of Eight, prayer/wolf pack) and motivational encouragement to take action.

Hey, guys. One of the biggest things we struggle with as human beings is we create a circle of people around us that maintain a certain vibrational state. And that vibrational state eventually no longer serves us because likened to the koi that I have out here, that I feed every single morning in La Jolla, they will only grow to the size of the tank or the pond, right? They will only get as big as they're allowed to get. And what creates that in a human being is the friendship circles that we actually have is the wealth, frequency, the consciousness that is all around us in every day. Most people live like zombies. They reach the age of 40, 90% of their habits are all unconscious. Probably 99% actually are all unconscious. Meaning they do the same thing over and over every single day. Then they wonder why they're not getting any new results.
So how do we get new results? We start going into the unknown. New new, new, new, new, new, new, new. And it's scary to go into the unknown. It is. It's so uncommon to be there. So how do we focus on that? Well, we gotta really look with retrospection at our life every single day, every single week. So spend 10 minutes, spend 30 minutes looking. Not just looking with your mind, but looking with your intuition. Being the perceiver versus the thinker. How have I grown? How have I improved? X, Y, Z? How's my emotional state, spiritual state, physical state, mental state?
And once we go there, the five senses, you know, what does it look like, feel like, sound like?
What would my closest friends say to me that are on the earth plane still? Or even my ancestors? What would my ancestors say about who I'm being and what I'm demonstrating now? And more often than not.
There would be great honor and reverence for who you're being and what you've created. And also there would be gaps of lessons yet to be learned on this earth plane. And we can tap into those by being in the magnetic field of other humans that have already demonstrated it. That's that. That's the hack. That's the code of this morning. You don't have to do it. That's the thing. There's a Native American, Native American proverb. I'm sorry, sage is literally looking outside at the koi pond right now. 4:30 in the morning, literally. And the fish jump in the morning because I think there's like little bugs that land on the water. So he's developed this relationship with the koi, and he runs out there and he starts barking and he can hear it on the podcast sometimes, but it's actually. It's adorable. It's also an interruption for what you and I are creating right now. So I'm petting him, I'm telling him to relax for a little bit, and then I'm going to let him go out there and just with unbridled joy, be a puppy. So the environment shifts when we do that, when we choose consciously to be in the magnetic field of other humans that have already proven what we're here to demonstrate. And everything's a frequency, like Tesla says. So what's the frequency of the circle that you're in? What's the collective consciousness of your five best friends? And do you need to add somebody into it that has a different way of seeing the world? Do you need to add a mentor, a coach? If you're in an area where there's not a lot of people that think like you, there's so many people all over the world that are messaging me on Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, all these other things, and they're like, hey, my circle of friends. Nobody thinks like this. Well, you need a new circle, right? Like, get new friends. I've had to fire complete groups of friendship circles before in a loving way. Just what I was doing at the time was no longer serving me. In my mid-20s, mid to late 20s, it was. We would go out and we would drink on the weekends, and we would party and we'd fly to Vegas and do all these things. I had to fire my friendship circle to change my environment. And when you up your environment, you change your life, getting around high vibing people. And then I grew to become best friends with a sage. This, you know, at the time, he was probably 88 years old. And I'm in my late 20s, early 30s, and I'm becoming best friends with this human angelic sage that is blowing open my consciousness, teaching me things probably would have taken me a couple lifetimes to learn by that one person. Literally, there's one person in your life that you already have access to. You just haven't deepened the relationship yet to get the environmental magnetic field codes from them. And when you start asking the universe to show you those codes to open up that reality, your whole entire life will start to shift. But you can't be afraid. You. You can't hold on to the friendship circle that you have. Maybe it's even an intimate relationship. I see so many stuck intimate relationships. And there's ways to change it. Yes, you can ask the universe. You can pray. You can pray for the other person. You can offer up self development workshops and books and things to do together to expand that awareness, to expand the deepening and the presence of the relationship. For sure, many people have tried that. They've done it over and over and over again. So now they're at a. They're at a stuck point in the relationship because of the. But out of complacency and out of feeling like there's nothing better and feeling like the whole world is crumbling around them, they choose to stay on a rock that is no longer serving them. Sometimes we need to jump off, spread our wings and, and fly. And it may look like a giant valley. You may land in a river in the valley and be underneath the water with chains on you. But know that freedom exists there. As soon as you shift your mind, the chains come off. Those wings open up. Once you jump out of that riverbed and now you're taking flight again to a whole new level. And you can start to perceive versus just thinking. You can write down those qualities and that's the exercise that I would recommend. I recommend writing down what are the top 10 to 50 qualities. Go nuts with this. Of the friendship circle that you're materializing now, or of a mentor or of a lover. What does that look like? Write it down and then create it in your mind. Once you create it in your mind, create it in your body. What does it feel like to have those people around you, to have that infinite support that maybe has been lacking in your life? And when you do that, my friend, the whole universe is going to work to align that for you. It's going to feel like you're living in assimilation and they're just going to show up the most random places. I remember I was looking for a mentor when I was probably 28 and I wrote down the top 10 qualities that I was looking for. I wanted him to be internationally traveled, speak multiple language. I think I even wrote down like five languages. Understand and have a great acumen for money and wealth creation. Be tapped in with like personal development stuff. Highly emotional, intelligent, and have a really caring heart. Like just giving back to the world. Literally. At the time I was running this credit and debt finance company in Tampa, Florida and I posted these ads in bathroom stalls thinking that that was a good marketing move.
I've had a lot of failures in marketing. I've turned my scars into stars, my friend. So literally I post these bathroom ads up and guess how many phone calls I got?
Week one, zero, week two, zero phone calls. Apparently nobody gets their phone out at a urinal who would have thought nobody gets their phone out at a urinal and actually calls these ads. Week three, zero phone calls, literally on the last week that my ads were up for the month. I remember it, I think I paid like 2,800 bucks, which was a lot to me at the time for these ads. It was a stretch. It was stretchy.
Three days before the end of the first week, I get a phone call. Hey, I have one thing on my credit that I need you to look at, and I'd like to meet up with you. So I set up this meeting and I'm like, this is perfect. Person's in Tampa. And as soon as this guy. I don't need to say names on this. As soon as he came in, he was on the phone speaking a different language. Who would imagined, right? So he comes up, he's speaking French, and he's just dressed to the nine. Like, he's got fashion sense, beautiful, human. So tapped in, so expanded. Could just feel it, the brightness in his eyes, bright blue eyes that would just look through your soul, right? And I sit down with this guy. He's just former owner of probably one of the top 100 companies in the world. And yeah, and I literally, I help him with his credit, and then I ask him to meet with me as a mentor, as a coach. So for a year and a half, I met with him once a week, and he literally taught me more about business than I could ever learn in college or school. It literally changed my life. And that one person that you're looking for, that mentor, that coach, that person that could elevate you is looking for you. St. Francis of Assisi says this. And Wayne Dyer, one of my mentors from the past, rip. Love that guy. I've listened to every single work of Wayne Dyer. I started when I was like 16 years old.
Well, anyway, the quote goes in. St. Francis of Assisi says this. What you are, what you seek is seeking you. So what you're looking for is already looking for you. And that synergistic nature of completing the looking, the feedback loop of finding itself is here. Now you just got you. You get to get clear. And the more clarity you have on it, the faster it's pulled into your environment.
So some big takeaways here. Number one, remember that everything in this universe is a frequency. What you're looking for in your environment is already looking for you. So to change your life, change your environment. And if you look at nlp, Dolt's pyramid, the first level of Dolt's Pyramid. And this is the pyramid of transformation and change. At the top is your identity. Well, the first place to start in changing your identity is changing your environment.
Anytime I'm working with somebody who wants to lose weight, somebody who wants to impact their health in a radical way, I am going in their kitchen and I'm getting rid of sugar, dairy, wheat, artificial sweeteners, soy gluten, anything that can disrupt their mission for what they're creating in their physical body. That's the first part. And then I'm going in their environment of their closet and I'm laying out their workout clothes because why not make it easy? You're trying to get a new hair habit. Make it easy. Right. That's the next thing. So how can you change your environment today, not only just in a physical sense, but also in the friendship sense? There's great currency current in the friendship circles that you create. There's a book called the Power of Eight, and that is by Lynn Mataggart, one of my favorite authors people on the planet right now. She wrote a another book called the Intention Experiment, and I believe it's called the Power of Eight. But anyway, eight people gathered around creating a hexagon with intention, with feeling in the body. We are crystalline in nature. We can create absolutely anything. So make sure your friends are building you up. One thing I do with my friends, anytime I work out in the morning, we eat breakfast. Afterwards, we have a wolf pack. And you better bet your ass, my friend, that we're praying. And we're praying for the world. We're praying for the people in the world, and we're praying for situations and disturbances that would present themselves in the material realm. And we're praying to break free from that, already seeing it done whole, complete. Because when two or more gather, mountains are moved. All you need is faith, the grain of a mustard seed. And what that means is a little bit of faith in each human that's praying at that table every single morning. Morning is enough to change entire cities. It's enough to create worlds of possibility. And you have that in you. You have it in your friendship circle now. And if you don't find someone, reach out, reach out to me. And there's people looking for you right now. To have this language is uncommon. To instill it in your heart. To come here as a pillar of light is uncommon, common. It's not normal. And you feel lost at times. And that's okay, because the more you embody the frequency of already having it, the more it's presenting itself to you. You found me. So that says something. So you're on the right track. Know that smile. Know that pat yourself on the back. Your environment's shifting quickly, my friend. As always. I'm Drew Canole. Remember? We're in this together. Talk soon.
