All right, welcome to the Drew and you show. I posted a question on my Instagram and I have someone who wants to hear about productivity. They say, drew, I love it when you talk about productivity hacks and what we can do to get more done throughout the day. So on this short podcast this morning, I want to share with you some of my time trued and tested productivity hacks that have absolutely and radically transformed my life. Two courses that I've done in the past, Craig Valentine's course, I believe it's called early to Rise. And then Eben Pagan's course I did like 12 years ago, Wake Up Productive, I believe was was the name of that. I don't even know if these courses exist anymore, but I learned a lot out of those and then I kind of adapted my own style to it. So number one, waking up early, I've never used an alarm. So part of being productive is telling your unconscious mind to do things for you at will. And telling my unconscious mind to get me up at 4:30 in the morning. Waking up feeling fully rested, recharged and ready to take on whatever the day presents is something that I'm very intentional about the night before. So I'm telling my mind that first and foremost and number number two would be I write down three things that I want to get done the next day, the night before. So technically my morning starts the night before. And maybe you've heard me talk about this in the past. So what are the three things? Write those down. And then at night your unconscious mind has the ability to rewire itself and work on the connections that you need, the people that you need to reach out and talk to, or perhaps maybe even the universe sends an energetic spark through the quantum realm to have somebody start to work on it for you during that time of writing it down. I believe we are beyond powerful and we can make things happen a lot easier than than oftentimes we talk about because human beings like to do the hard things, we're human doers half the time. So being productive, that would be the second thing. Writing it down the night before. And then when I wake up the first three hours of the day, I generally love to spend focused, right? I do my morning ritual for the first probably hour, hour and a half, which involves gratitude listing, which involves writing, which involves reading, which involves self egg frequencies to sync my left and right hemisphere. Hot and cold. Cold plunge in the morning is one of the best things you can do to lean into resistance. I get a workout in usually 45 to 50 minutes working out with my boys. Maybe you've seen me on Instagram. Working out in the gym in the morning. Super powerful to get your body, your lymphatic, your circulatory system actually moving so that you have more energy throughout the day. I do stretching, foam rolling. I use my theragun. Any issues in the body that are kind of holding energy tight, I like to address those as well. Because the more fluid you have in your body, the more electricity, the more electrical current you have, the more focus you can have throughout the day as well. Super important right there. So then when I'm done with that, when I begin working, after I've nourished myself with generally low carbs in the morning is my way to go. Lots of protein, high protein, 50 grams, 60 grams of protein and a little bit of fat, maybe 20, 30 grams and then moderate to mid level. No carbs at all till about 2 or 3 o' clock in the afternoon because that's what gives me the most amount of energy. Because I do go to bed pretty early. 7:30, 8:00 clock. I'm not one of these guys to fast all day and then eat dinner. Generally I'll front stack my food in the morning. It's better for my adrenals, it's better for my blood. I had a phlebotomist coming to my house every month for like a year. And I was just testing different intermittent fasting diets, keto diets, carnivore diets, the Drew can diet, you name it, the diet, I tested it. And what works for me is eating bigger meals throughout the day, eating like a king in the morning, eating like a prince in the afternoon, and then eating like a poor person at night, or I believe it's called a popper pauper.
So. And then it winds down and then I'm literally fasting at night. So around five or six o' clock, I want to be done eating. I'm in bed by 7:30, 8:00 clock to get up and make it happen at 4:30 in the morning. So you're tracking me. We did the morning ritual. We're ready to be productive for the day.
When I'm in Sedona, which is where most of my stuff is now, I have a house in La Jolla where I'm at now, I don't have my red light, which I love to put the red light up. I play usually like a 125 bpm type of mix, tribal drums, you know, different frequencies to increase the alert state in my brain and I'll set a timer for 50 minutes. There used to be this app called Focus at Will that I loved, but it would be 50 minutes of work, 10 minutes off people's attention spans. You may want to start with 30 minutes, my friend, depending on how much you can focus. But 50 minutes on, 10 minutes off. And during the 10 minute break, I'm running laps around the house, I'm doing jumping jacks, I'm moving my body, maybe I'm playing the guitar, maybe I'm grabbing a snack, more protein or something like that.
So 50, 10, and then I do four intervals of that and I try to bang it out before noon or 1 o' clock. And usually it's about four hours worth of work for the day. I do take nootropic sometimes to help me focus as well. L Theanine matcha, that's in organifi green juice pure. Organifi pure, which actually has the baobab in it which mineralizes the body. Then it's got neurofactor which increases BDNF brain derived nootropic factor by 206% in clinicals. That's been super powerful too to help me focus. So four intervals of that for productivity seems to help. And usually the hardest thing that I have to get done is the first interval. So maybe it's formulating a new product, maybe it's scripting. Three podcasts. Although I don't really spend a lot of time scripting these, you guys. I do like to come up with themes and topics that I think will resonate with you. And that takes a little bit of time sometimes. So that's the first one. And then towards the end, depending on what I have left, it can be more creative stuff that's more in the right brain versus the left. Logical, linear, more or less like the to do, you know, the to do's that maybe we don't look forward to every single day, but we have to get them done. So I stack those in the beginning. The reason this works is because I'm not multitasking. I believe when we multitask we rob a lot of the, the electric flow from our brain and we don't get as much done. They've done research in regards to productivity habits as well. So I don't multitask. I set a single goal throughout the day which is a what can I get done today? What's the biggest thing that I must get done? I set a to be list. How am I going to be throughout the day? So I, I have the Character, the characteristic that I'm looking to exhibit versus human doing. I'm a human being, right? I work in the 50 minute bursts. So the short bursts actually help me stay focused, which also allows me to take regular breaks. Another thing that I used to do, I don't do it so much anymore, which I could probably get back in the habit of. This is blocking any apps that call your name throughout the day. Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, social media sites, any of these.
Just put a block on it. Put your phone in a different room. Like do your first four hours of work without any social media at all, without your phone. You don't need to text message. People will get the, the hang of it that you're going to be busy for the first four hours of the day. Then you have that dedicated workspace too, which is super important when it comes to being focused. And then.
Project management tools, I've never really used them. I'm more of a visionary, more of a creative thinker. I know there's Trello, I know there's Basecamp, I know there's Slack, which the Organifi and the FitLife team uses. I don't really use that stuff that much. I like Notepad. Like Notepad is my, my productivity app in my phone. And every, literally every phone has some type of notepad in it and that's super powerful. So when you implement these, my friend, there's some good books that can help you to. Darren Hardy's book Compound Effect, Slight Edge, Jeff Olson's book the One thing is super powerful too, which will help you set goals, specific goals, every single day. There's also Atomic Habits, I believe that's James Clear, which is another habit productivity book which, which can be super helpful, all these. And it's important to know that to work alone you can generally get a lot more done in my experience. But other times it helps to be around energy, to be around people. And when I was a beginning entrepreneur, I would usually go to coffee shops two or three days a week and I would just be in a coffee shop because there was something about the noise, the smell of the coffee, the interaction, the people that were being productive that really helped me get more productive too. So figure out where you work best. In the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey, I was also a yes man. I would say yes a lot. There was this people pleaser thing that would kick on and I wanted to get, I wanted basically people that love me due to the self worth issues that I had a long story, you know, it could go into that and talk about mom wounds and dad wounds and trauma and the whole thing in body trauma and like we have in the past in different podcasts. But there comes a point in our lives when we have to say no and focus on the big things. So realize that no is far more powerful than a yes, because no frees up an unlimited amount of time for you, depending on what it is. But it really takes discernment. I recorded a recent podcast too, on making your business more spiritual. And having that spiritual discernment is one of the biggest things we can have in the world today. So super powerful, another productivity hack you can do. I don't know if you're at this place in your business, but having an assistant handle anything outside of what your genius zone is, anything outside of what could.
Let'S call them distractions for you. Whatever your superpower, whatever your gifting is on the earth plane at this time, there's anything that you're doing repetitively outside of that. Hire a personal assistant, right? Hire somebody to cook your food, I think.
And pay them well. Like, these are legit family members that I have all around me. I have support staff here in San Diego and also in Sedona. And it's. It'll free up so much time, my friend. You can be so much more creative. You can impact thousands of more people every single year when you have the right people around you doing what they love to do. So if you're doing anything that you don't love to do, right there is the biggest productivity hack that you can take away from. Visualize yourself meeting the right person that can take over the position that you don't love, you don't care about. It's not really a big thing to you. And then watch what happens. So these are just a few of my productivity hacks. I've talked about nootropics and things that you can do on YouTube. I have over a thousand videos. You can check it out there. And the books, the ones I reference will be in the show notes as well. And if you want me to interview any of the people that we talked about, Jeff Olson, James Clear, Darren Hardy, let me know, send me a message, and we'll get them on the show as well. But yeah, the big thing is follow some of those, figure out what your purpose is, your soul's desire, why you wake up every single day, have that singular, singular focus, Stop multitasking, and imagine what you can get done in the next 30 to 60 days. Another thing that I did on top of it is I would do the Wheel of Life, which is a transformational worksheet that you can do, and you just fill in, scale of 1 to 10. And I had a coach guide me through this for years. Physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, all the things. Scale of 1 to 10. Where are you in the last week? What are the highlights? What are the low lights? What are the things you're most looking forward to? And you'd fill this out and you'd see a progressive build, building of momentum. And that's what we're doing here. We're literally building momentum when we do the Wheel of Life. When we start to become more productive throughout the day, you'll be blown away at how much you can get done every single day when you start to adopt. Just a simple few things that are on this list. So hopefully this was helpful. If it was, send me a dm. Leave a review, too, for me. You guys, I choose somebody every single month that wins organifi to leave a review on itunes. It helps with the algorithm, as you know. It helps put it in front of more people and share this with anybody that's struggling to be productive, that's looking for some creative ways to get back into it, to get back into alignment. And I just appreciate you so much. Thanks for taking your time. Thanks for investing in yourself, making the world a better place by doing this. And remember, we're in this together. We'll see you in the next show.
